It will take Apple quite some time, at least 7 years before they make any flipping/folding phone. Not that they can't make one but more about how can they make a folding phone without taking away from the iPad profits

I have it. Amazing phone, the ir blaster is very useful for me as i have multiple air conditioners. When folded it borders on becoming thick but i am glad that it is not any thinner because if it was, then holding it unfolded would be a problem.
The bad: The stock clock and weather widgets suck hard, have scaling problems and doesn't show the time of my next alarm. Ne setting to let the alarm ring forever in the stock app.
The stock launcher has no grid options, big screen with few apps and widgets.
I wish that the task bar worked in nova launcher.
    The pen. I want it.

I love the aspect ratio of the open as well as the hardware. I miss the software of Samsung, but the z fold 5 was to narrow to use the outer screen so I traded in the z fold 5 for the open and I have been happy with this phone since day one. The only thing OPPO did wrong was not to offer a stylus pen with the phone or on their website.

I've been fortunate enough to have the galaxy fold 3 and 4, and the pixel fold. I now have the OnePlus Open. In my case this phone ticks all the boxes for me. Best aspect ratio as far as screen size inside and out. The apps just work, i.e. when rotating or resizing, which is something I couldn't say for the pixel. The screen brightness is great, not as bright as OnePlus promoted but still great. I really wanted to love the pixel fold, because I love the software, but I think it's way more glitchy as far as apps resizing during rotation or in landscape mode. The screen wasn't as bright as I would've liked on the pixel also. And don't get me started on software updates. They took forever! The OnePlus open is cheaper, with top tier specs, less issues, (I had the email issue, but did everything you did in your video and it's now working so thank you) lighter, better camera, (IMO) and I just love it. I won't be able to get a new phone for awhile so I'm extremely happy I got the OnePlus when I did. 😊

I traded in my Z Fold 4 for the OnePlus Open, which I was eagerly waiting for, after previously upgrading from the ZF3-ZF4.
Where Samsung's changes from the Z Fold 4 to the Z Fold 5 were minimal, to the point that I'd be hard pressed to even name two or three upgrades, OnePlus threw in the kitchen sink into this device!
    16GB ram
    512 GB storage
67w charging speed (it really always blows me away how fast this thing charges)
20:9 aspect ratio on cover screen Wide
    Excellent cameras
The difference between Samsungs approach and OP was night and day!
Samsung, it felt to me, was resting on their laurels and figured they were pretty much the only game in town.

I owned the OnePlus open but I returned it because I'm still paying on the Pixel fold and I just could not reconcile paying for another foldable. With that being said, if it was my first foldable experience I probably would have kept it. There is so much that I did like about it. The thing that I liked the most was the non-glare display. I used my foldable in the car a lot and that display was clutch! Google needs to learn something from the OnePlus as it relates to display.

I really love it. It's my first foldable and it's been awesome, but I'm getting ready to sell it. I think I am just not taking full advantage of the foldable features and I work in construction and ride an adventure motorcycle so I'm really paranoid about breaking it. The IR blaster is my favorite feature and use it all the time so I think I am going to sell it and get the OnePlus 12 this month since it will be a better fit for my use case.

I have the OnePlus open since it's release, I absolutely love this phone. Even just the main screen in the folded position is amazing. And when you open it you can't see the crease at all, and the multitasking is unmatched from any phone I've ever had. The speed is fantastic, the storage is amazing, the responsiveness is on point. Do I wish I could have bought a Pixel Fold instead? Sometimes, but I didn't have that option in Sweden, that's on Google, I had to choose between Samsung or Oneplus, so I picked Oneplus and I'm very happy with it, besides a few bugs that you've talked about (lack of notification and wifi stops working, so I have to go to mobile).
I'm pleased to say mine has less scratches than your device, which makes me very happy since I'm a very clumsy person and it has been dropped a few times, but I use a case that covers the outside screen too, even if I had to glue a small magnet on it to make it work properly.
I didn't vote, but it's a 4+ for me atm. I love being able to open it up when sitting down and just closing it when I'm getting up, so satisfying. And the battery, I mean I went from my old phone where I had it fully charged, went on a 2 hour walk running pikmin bloom and listening to music and it was at 14%! Now I can do the same at 40% and it'll still be over 20% when I get home!
    It's so freeing!
Plus it's nice to play games on a bigger screen, even though it's mostly evermerge ;)

If I had to have a fold device the only one I'd consider would be the OnePlus open. OnePlus might not be the top of the top on hardware. But their software beats Google at its own game. It's the only android device that is faster and smoother than iPhone. Pixel and Sammy are superb but they do have stuttering animations regularly. OnePlus doesn't. They let themselves down by slower software updates. But I'll take that

Unfortunately for these results the sample size is too small and too narrow. A lot of your followers are Surface Duo converts who have not experienced anything beyond a Duo or an Open. So you can see how easy it is to obtain skewed results. You should have a poll that is vetted with actual owners prior to voting as im sure over the past month that perspective has changed quite a bit given all the broken displays as of late.

I'll wait till the OnePlus Open II to launch to see if they incorporate wireless charging like they did for the OnePlus 12. I voted without leaving a comment! I voted 4 by the way. So I'm very happy with my OnePlus Open generally. But, and this might come as a surprise, Iprefer my Zfold 5. And it's not just the software, I legitimately find that I genuinely like the Zfold 5's narrow cover screen. For one thing it means that the inner display has a more rectangular aspect ratio which makes viewing content better. But also I find that narrow display let's me type way more easily with one hand which is nice. So overall as much as I like the OnePlus Open if I had to choose I would choose the Zfold, which isn't to say that the Open doesn't have any advantages, just that I prefer the form factor and the software of the Zfold.

With regards to the camera, I have a iPhone 14 from work but I'd rank the Open above it, especially potrait mode. The Open also has fantastic speakers. It's an expensive phone but it really is one that comes with no compromises, unless you're a big fan of wireless charging of course. I have no issues with the software either. It is a brilliant phone and can keep upgrading the same model if this stays the way it is for the next 1 year.

Love the phone, but the amount of software issues and inconsistencies prevent me from staying on a OnePlus device for too long

What issues are you having because I don't have any

@@NipseyEternal99 Issues may not have been the right word - bugs would be more accurate as they are small issues.
      An example:
      1. When you double-press the power button to access the camera, the phone locks before going to the camera app. So if you want to open another app to edit the photo, etc. you need to unlock the phone again. While not a dealbreaker on its own, no other phone manufacturer has this issue, and other small things like this are riddled in OnePlus phones.

Yeah but those bugs are currently being fixed. An update or two. It'll all be good. I updated as soon as I opened mine yesterday. And all is fine

@@alexmotts I've had those same bugs on my OnePlus 11 since it released. I'm not confident in OnePlus's update policy and bug fixing enough to stay on a OnePlus. Again, ymmv, and there are personal preferences for each person.

Fold owner,Put the z-fold 5 software into the open and you got yourself a dominant fold or slap phone. Please Samsung just copy the OnePlus open hardware and you'll dominate.

Phone is nice but not opening flat is unacceptable. I sold it becouse it was irritating. Fold 5 opening totally flat, oneplus you must push it to open full flat.

No foldable I've ever owned has went to fully flat without a little bit of pressure, even the Z Folds get there in short time.
