Well, now I'm dumping this Motorola Edge + 2022 as I'm not happy at all with this phone ( though I will miss Dex ) . OnePlus site currently offers it for $799.00. Plus $120.00 if I trade in my LG V60 ( should I?? ) and an additional $30.00 coupon for registering on OnePlus - so total cost is $649.00 plus tax - FOR 16 GB OF RAM AND 512 GB OF STORAGE! How can I pass on it? Gotta get accustomed to Oxygen - is this gonna be a long learning curve Juan?
I think you give the most fair reviews of OnePlus phones out of anyone out there. And you definitely give the most accurate, detailed camera reviews of OnePlus phones. My personal experience with these phones always match yours each year.
ALWAYS happy to find a few other geeks that like this stuff. I know I'm a crank, but I can't see ANY phone touching this price to performance this year.
I'm with you. I preordered the OnePlus 12 and traded in my 10 Pro. I've owned the 8 Pro, 9 Pro and 10 Pro skipping the 11. My only real disappointment is the IP rating. I feel like the selfie cameras on OnePlus phones used to be a bit of a wart but not now with the 12. I've always been fine with the camera experience otherwise and feel like they have always been underrated. I notice a wider range of opinions from reviewers about their cameras than other brands. But I've always been about the OS speed, the screen, battery and charging speed. They always deliver on that and seem to bring even better performance post launch. One of the first things I do with a new OnePlus is try it out in my car and see if Android Auto has less errors. I noticed a jump in Spotify sound quality and Android Auto usability from using a Samsung Galaxy 10 Plus to going to a OnePlus 8 Pro one year. You always find the best unsung aspects of these phones and highlight them. I intensely look forward to your future coverage of this phone.
Oh nice! The jump from a 10Pro to a 12. You're gonna like that battery life! I wish they kept the 4k/120 mode on the camera, but the rest of the phone should help make up for that 😊
When I did MKBHD's blind camera comparison, One Plus Open and One Plus 11 were my photo winners. It does seem like lots of reviewers focus on specs and if the phone is Apple or equal to it. Not many actually seem to test the phone and use it. I wish more reviews were more practical like yours. Thank you!
Thanks for that. I really feel we're at a point where the processing differences between premium phones aren't "problems" but differences in how the cameras are handled. Someone saying they can't good photos out of OP is telling me, they didn't get familiar with the cameras.
@@HARDYMANGAT Pixel 8 Tensor 2 processor limits the phone. If you can get past that, it's solid. OP12 beats it in most cases except for maybe some AI features
Yes, most youtubers never even try to learn how the camera works. It either works like iphone (point and shoot with nobrains on) but OP cameras have always been really really good if you have used hours and hours to learn the how it functions the best. That is like basics of photography, you dont buy a expensive camera just to point and shoot...
I've said this in previous videos, but it's like you took a successful wedding photographer who shoots on Canon, and on the day of a wedding, swap their gear for Sony. Tech "reviewers" act like that's a camera problem that it's not "good enough", when really it's a user issue.
That's just how most people want to take pictures. People just let the software do the work. Pixel phones had great pictures even though the first couple of generations had only one camera: the MP wasn't even high on it. It all depends on the user. If buying a Oneplus and configuring the camera setting works for you then you do you. It's all about convenience and that's why either most people just buy a Apple or Samsung phone. LG smartphones had great cameras and settings and were priced lower as well but the general public didn't buy too many LG phones. LG eventually shut down their mobile division and stopped selling smartphones.
That's not what I'm saying. Take five phones out of your pocket and JUST push the shutter, and you get five different images, with different metering and different processing. The user who lives with any ONE of those phones will build an expectation on what that phone does to an image, and they'll start composing for that at an instinct level. It has nothing to do with the weak argument that techies like to throw in, that somehow pros are always "fiddling" with settings. I am specifically talking about the user experience as it relates to auto modes. The user builds an expectation, and when a new phone turns out a result that the user wasn't expecting, they will likely blame the phone. That's incorrect. It's a user familiarity problem.
@@HARDYMANGAT I would choose the OP12, because it's so much more powerful and for the fast charging! The pixel 8 is not bad, but the Tensor G3 is sucks a little bit
I ordered one. Been a happy OnePlus customer for nearly a decade. My first gen Nord i got as a company phone is out of support and i really wanted to get back into the flagship game, but not at any cost. The 12 brings back what OnePlus used to be the kings at, competing with phones way higher up the market at way lower prices. I really enjoy OxygenOS even after it's 'ColorOS' updates, and it never grows old having a phone most people don't know about, that is insanely capable.
Can't wait to get mine. I'm upgrading from my OP7 after 4.5 years of usage, currently the battery is giving me a poor 4 hr screen usage. Boy am I in for a mind bending surprise.
I too own OP7 since that long and it seems they did pull the Apple on us... Bringing down the battery performance to a shitty 4hrs or less after the last update.
@hellsfavoritesaltyberserke4724 true... But considering the advancement in battery technology.. it seems all OEMs want the hardware to lose its relevance in 2yrs.
I preordered mine last night. They're giving bonus instant credits for trade ins, so got $300 instant credit for my old OnePlus 9 which I only paid $300 for to begin with and all in all got 16gb/512gb model for alittle over $500. That's an insanely good deal for a brand new phone with killer specs
Hey congrats man... I am planning to order mine and need your help. How does the trade-in work, the shipping service guys collect it or do we have to courier it?
It''s a very different animal and a very different oneplus. I preferred the 8 pro and 9 pro era of OP, and this is a return to that flavor. You might dig it, you might now, but I personally think this is the strongest offering they've ever delivered.
@@SomeGadgetGuy What do you think about the Samsung S24+ ? It fits into the case (Note 9) so that you can use the Razer JungleCat controller. It makes it one of the few options to have a real pocketable gaming system. To me it's better than carrying an obsolete PS Vita Slim, or something like the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro. Thoughts on pocketable gaming overall? Maybe a video idea to come? Cheers in advance Juan!
You were the first review I've seen that mentioned a lot of the unique features in OOS for the Oneplus 12. Your tangent about wireless charging was a new take I haven't seen yet either, and I'll have to say I agree.
It's fun to really use each device for what it does well, instead of pretending that "different from uh iPhone" is all you need to say to dismiss something.
You've gained yourself a new subscriber! Great video; clearly and thoughtfully put together whilst making good arguments. I agree, this year the 12 is looking mighty! And in the UK the charging speed is reported to be 0-100% in 23 minutes I believe (higher rated charger) so coupled with the immense battery capability of the device, I can see this being my phone for a good long while.
I ordered mine, I can't wait. I wanted S24 Ultra but too expensive and has a pen and nice camera that I'll never really use. For $1097 CAD 16gb RAM 512GB with $14 case is a pretty good deal, I hope they keep up the trend with these flagship specs midrange pricing.
Its good to see competition between the Chinese phone companies really heating up. The 2024 offerings from companies like Oneplus and Vivo are really good while still undercutting SamApple. Excited to see the premium tier smartphones from Oppo, Honor and Xiaomi along the year.
I'm sorry, but I've never appreciated the "if you don't agree with me, you're an-insert derogatory label here" argument, regardless of the subject. There are legitimate reasons to stick with a brand. There are other considerations over price. Ecosystem immediately comes to mind. There are brand exclusive features that can be important to consumers.
Best phone so far with that price also. Better than S24 in many ways. 1. Better, bigger battery and charge waaay faster. 2. Better screen due to more BIT colors and smoother scrrolling due to their new tec and much brighter. 3. CPU has been showen better in many benchmark tests here on TH-cam. 4. Face onlock is way faster and does not lack in miss readinga.... Basically This phone is better in all the areas that really matters.... Samsung still have a better camera tho if you are into that sort of things and some gimmic things that really doesn't matter..... It's pure crap by Samsung to have a phone like that with that price when you can get this.
That bit about trickle charging wirelessly is spicy and i agree wholeheartedly. My Pixel 7a turned into a hand warmer while charging wirelessly and I was concerned that the battery. Long story short; broke charging pins that provides wireless charging to replace a battery that i think was never the problem...
Sold. 512GB model oreordered and I snagged the wireles charger before they sold out. Sent you a Tweet btw. Oneplus sent me a coupon for the OnePlus Watch 2 after I placed my order for the 12. Looks like it's comfirmed and will be announced at WDC.
Oh dang! They haven't even told us about the watch yet. I just started playing with the earbuds LOL. Sorry I'm not on the Xitter at all anymore. Please hit me up tho. Always down to chat on the other socials.
The 4-tier system that you mentioned is very well laid out. Much more relevant than the traditional 3-tier one. Most of us should be happy in the premium tier. Not sure what kind of justification is needed to be in the ultra. 😅
Honestly, I'm TRYING to get more folks to shop mid-range now. There's VERY LITTLE a $400 phone can't do for folks with daily driver needs. 👍 I shop ultra because I try to replace a laptop and a camera for travel work LOL. I am not "avuraj cunzoomer".
The snapdragon 7+gen 2 has been phenomenal for me. I find that what I need is an adequate amount of RAM so that my phone doesn't start unaliving apps. I also know for a fact that I need a headphone jack.
Love your take on all of this. My move from OnePlus to pixel 7 got me to experiment with super battery saver on pixel and I get 8, 9, 10 hours of screen on time. So I've almost retired my OnePlus 8 t but yes I miss the louder speaker and the FAST charging! (And the cooler operationing while fast charging while running two apps in split screen.) My pixel does very well in low light and by simply clocking the shutter, but I miss how I played with settings like color temperature for sunsets on my OnePlus phones. Also OnePlus seems to have data within the photos that responds very well to boosting saturation etc in post processing. I sorta miss that. I've tried to convince myself that I'm done with OnePlus, but getting a quality zoom with large sensors on wide and main and vooc now I'm off to OnePlus's website. Oh by the way, I've been hoping to mention the app super display to use tablets as external monitors (retaining touch and pen input) even though I have a lenovo tablet with HDMI in, I never use it because of super display allowing touch and pen. I even have two external displays (one touch enabled) super display takes the finikyness out of the cabled connection. (But super display also works cabled)
@@SomeGadgetGuy cool. It seems like something that straddles the line. Extra display, but wireless even though you have good reasons to poopoo wireless. Like I said, retaining touch and pen is pretty big for me. It even makes my extra cheap 14 inch slow Android tablet useful.
Your V60 is a gem. I miss LG, phones that came with quadDAC's and all sorts of goodies. It's just unfortunate that it's so well outdated. I am getting my OP12 tomorrow but I'd almost bet your V60 would be better
Dude, that familiarity and brand loyalty analogy is spot on. Just ordered this phone after using Samsung Notes exclusively since 2013. I'm done with their premium prices for less. Let's hope this phone doesn't disappoint
And Marques said he didn't need to review this phone because it is the same phone as last year and he's been busy, yet he reviews Apple and Samsung same crap every year.
I can't really wait to get mine! I have my 6T since 2019 and I think it's given me enough of its life. Absolutely dreaming about having the 12 in my hands
I own the s24U, iphone 15 PM and now got the OnePlus 12. Honestly the one plus is the nicest of them all! It feels smoothest and best. Also got some great features even if without AI. love it
Thanks for your fun, candid and detailed review of the OnePlus 12. I stumbled across OnePlus about 3 years ago with an 8T...late to the game, I know :-). I own a cell phone repair and sales store, and have owned all the main brands across the past 10 years, and some of the less well known too, like Xiaomi, Huawei, Motorola, LG, etc... even Asus and ZTE. My current OnePlus 9 Pro is my favorite phone ever! Smooth, dependable, useable, and gives me all I really want in quality and performance. And, I just ordered my own OnePlus 12. I can't wait... :-)
So many techies hold up the OP7 pro as the peak OP device, but for my money, the 9Pro was the best device OP had made. If you.liked the 9 you're in for a good time with the 12. It feels like a return to that kind of premium phone.
A fair person who speaks the truth that is in his hand and does not make concessions to any brand. I respect you, man. I will subscribe to the channel with you. You are a true genius.
"Features have to matter when you compare phones". Warp/SuperVOOC charging and battery life is one of many reasons why I've been on OnePlus phones for the past 8 years. You've articulated masterfully how and why this phone can truly hang with Samsung and Apple. Your review touches on features that seem to go over most reviewers heads. Kudos. Subscribed!
I would absolutely buy this phone if it had a 5X zoom. I currently am using the P30 Pro and can't give up that zoom. Not many options with 5X and hard to decide. I like that you mention the heat from wireless charging. I notice it and have always wonder why it heats up even charging so slowly. Also, I know you like desktop mode. My P30 pro has it but I only tried it once. Have you ever tried the Huawei?
Does the OnePlus 12 support Miracast aside from video output? I've been wanting to try something different that is not Samsung or Google. I own the Pixel 7 Pro, but I miss Miracast and video output. I don't want to rely on Chromecast-only devices anymore.
Cool review! Quite informative. So with big Samsung disappointment this year with no real update and return to Exynos in my region this Oneplus, Vivo and others are imho way to go. Would be however interested in video output to external monitor (any 3rd party or insider option for desktop mode??) and whether I can wirelessly cast screen to Samsung smart TV as I can with my Galaxy S23+ (I don't mind if 3rd party app is needed for that)? And how about build quality - there's been some back panel sealing quality issues reported on the chinese version of OP12?
Great and honest review as usual Juan. What your getting for that price point, i don't think there is anything else on the market that comes even close.
@@SomeGadgetGuyin some other video the guy said IQOO is almost similar or in fact better in some areas, so in the Indian market due to the price difference the IQoo might be in demand. What are your thoughts?
Wireless charging is so convenient *if your car has a wireless charger and you can simply place it there when you get into the car*. I have a wireless charging stand (for my Oneplus 8 Pro) at my desk but usually just plug it into a fast charger there anyway. So I agree with you there, but there are some killer use cases for wireless charging. Ordered the Oneplus 12 this morning.
Can't in my car, and I wouldn't use it over the summer. It's more convenient to have an ac mount , and only.plug in for five minutes as I need to. I don't want the phone charging all the time. I only need five minutes hooked up after a long drive.
Thanks for your honest review of the One Plus 12. I’m in I will buy this phone as I’m sick and tired of the other U Tube morons who always push the Apples or the Samsung’s and truly it makes me sick. Keep up the good and honest reviews Brother.
Got my OP12 for $749 (w/ Trade-in) bundled with OnePlus watch 2 for $99...all for $849 (plus tax in the US) I also have the S24 Ultra....honestly I find myself using the OP12 more. No gimmicky Ai & longer battery & charges super fast.
Hey Juan, since you are one of the only techtuber that actually care about desktop mode on Android, how does this fair? I want to upgrade from my Note 20 but the lack of DeX-like on phones is kinda a deal breaker for me. So far, I only know that Samsung, Honor and Motorola bother to put a proper desktop mode in their flagship phones. Hope you would also review the Honor Magic6 Pro sometime next month when they launch internationally
Out of the box, Android 14 desktop mode is even more broken than 13. You can lean on apps like second screen and task bar to help, but Google is keeping us down.
I currently have a S23 ultra, which I've loved. but I'm seriously considering switching to a OnePlus next year. they just seem like the best USA Android choice for me. solid review as always, Juan
The S23U is a MONSTER productivity phone. That should last you a WHILE, but some of the fun stuff is REALLY fun on other devices if you get that itch to switch.
@@SomeGadgetGuyI made the switch just last night from S23 Ultra I really do not like the force stops after last update to Android 14 I really don't understand why Samsung can't get it right after a recent update but so be it. I'm back to one plus. Sending back the S23 Ultra to Amazon by Feb 1st so will have to use my pixel 7 Pro for the time being til my One Plus 12 arrives and yes I got the upgraded model for $799 512GB and 16GB RAM insane it's a deal I just couldn't pass up lol
Excellent review, Juan. Though, I was confident of my decision to order the OnePlus 12 this morning, being backed up by your expertise, makes me feel that much more vindicated.
@@SomeGadgetGuy Over here the S24+ is €130 cheaper and has more storage (512 vs 256 GB for the base OP model). Would you reckon the OP is still the better pick here?
I knew once this phone came out, i'll go straight to your review first lol. Oneplus is no longer my daily phone (sadly because my OP9 fell victim to the green lines) and this year should have been my upgrade. Happy to see that Oneplus can still be my future choice once my run with this Pixel runs it's course. I think Oneplus actually learned its lessons after the 11. Going back to having one main model for the year is the right choice instead of having a pro. I genuinely miss the great speakers all my previous Onplus's spoiled me with. Oxygen OS also polished itself years on after the release of Material You. Damn. I really want to get back soon... PS. Mrwhosetheboss sucks, and is a content shill. Zero regret unsubscribing. I wish i could subscribe to you more than once.
as a lifetime samsung galaxy owner (i have the s22 ultra & note 10+), this google phone has caught my attention and is telling me to change. will it be worth a change?
The honesty is a breath of fresh air, with everyone STILL bashing the OnePlus cameras and finding reasons to disqualify it as an option in the samapple world.
@@nieznanygoscxd8587 I feel like it's better than ip65, but they just went for a basic rating. Just like the 7t pro was waterproof but they never paid for the rating. Someone tested it 30 mins submerged and it survived.

I need to upgrade and really hard press to leave my LGv60 (considering finding a second hand and just hoping it keeps running) What is your outlook? Should we consider Oneplus 12 or MotoEdge + (2023/24) edition? Would it be wiser to look toward Sony? The limited options is frustrating and sadly things like headphone jacks are limited (although BL Audio is getting better) From your comments on here this is a great option for most of my functionality as I don’t run desktop mode (even though I would want to). Any solid insights in to these or even a direction from partners like @TKBay would be great.

i bought this today and i traded in my iPhone 13 pro max for this android because i was using their tablet the OnePlus pad and the experience was AMAZING! i really like the personalization over android was never got in my iPhone :(, the smooth experience on my OnePlus pad made me take this decision aaaaaand i just paid with coupons and everything $321
Which reviewers are you referring to? Every single video I've seen praises the phone and concludes it's the best value for money in 2024 and you speak like "yeah the phone is really good and I'm not afraid to say it".
I nearly ordered a Redmagic 9 Pro until I realized it does not support all the network bands for T-Mobile, I'm a bit of a stickler in wanting ALL the bands, even the S24/+/Ultra do not support all 5g bands. My options were down to OP12 and Rog 8, the former being MUCH cheaper and was ultimately the deciding factor. 16gb/512 SD8 Gen3 device for $799 is nuts. I watched EVERY review I could find on TH-cam, you're the only one to state OP12 supports display over USB, which is something I desire for desktop use. I do love the fact there is a notification switch, I've gotten so used to having one using iPhones in the past.
I really like OP phones, but if it's the same price as a Samsung ultra, and you can't beat the price with a sale or trade in, the galaxy is probably a better deal at that price.
I think you have a strong point here. I mean, there are countless reviews nitpicking features here and there while praising the 2 big companies, ignoring the elephant in the room. I'll never get why iphone is forced to everyone as the device everyone should be measured against, while it maintains an archaic operating system that is missing basic features.
Thank you! There's only a handful of reviewers out there that appreciate what one plus has accomplished with this phone. And yours is definitely one of the best. I love your point on battery ptsd.
Thanks Juan for great review and details of this OP 12. BUT, what do think of the issue of the so called "green-line" vertical on the screen of the OP 12? Alot of users are discussing about it? Best.
I bought samsung galaxy tag 2's to replace non existent smart tags that barelly worked. Do these smart tags work on oneplus devices? I also have the oneplus buds pro 2, so I'll be able to use lhdc on them
The smart tracker thing is maddening. This is a MASSIVE problem for Android that Apple made for us, and is refusing to fix. Until the Google network goes live, we're going to be in a holding pattern, and the google network wont go live until Apple updates the iphone, which they aren't doing as that allows them to keep promoting airtags. I would highly recommend people send notices to the FTC (or your local regulatory body) over anti-trust and anti-consumer concerns. I don't believe the samsung tags will work with any other phone. I'm recommending people wait, and switch over to a 3rd party like chipolo or pebblebee when Google's network goes live, hopefully later this year.
Hey Juan. At the camera section you mentioned that OP12 has a stacked sensor. Unfortunately, it is not. OP12 has LYT-808 sensor, which doesn't support 2-layer transistor 'stacked' technology. Only the sensor in the OP Open supports it, which is LYT-T808.
Wait, everything I'm reading shows the LYT-808 is a member of the LYTIA family using the new stacked CMOS. The "T" variant is just tweaked to improve depth in foldables. What am I missing here? Lytia is the partner brand for what we've seen in Sony directly using EXMOR T.
The 'LYTIA' branding has been very confusing, and from what I understand, it's just for marketing. It doesn't mean that all LYTIA sensors support a 2-layer transistor. For example, the latest LYT900 also doesn't support it.
I'll need to see a whitepaper from sony on that. As far as Sony is publishing on their site, all Lytia tiers are stacked, but variants are available for things like foldables. Got a link for me?
if only they provided more years of software support, addressed the green line issue a lot of people are bringing up, and enabled more customization in the software like oneui, this would be buy-on-sight purchase.
The OnePlus 12 looks like a winner, with a price tag of around $800 (converted from the indian pricing) do you think it will reclaim some market share in the US?
I hope so, but I doubt it'll be a heavy hitter again without more marketing. I can see a future where OP stays out of carrier stores, but not without ads telling consumers they exist.

The 12 brings back what OnePlus used to be the kings at, competing with phones way higher up the market at way lower prices.
I really enjoy OxygenOS even after it's 'ColorOS' updates, and it never grows old having a phone most people don't know about, that is insanely capable.
Alert slider opens up "find in page" in Google Chrome ..in new oneplus 12
Can't wait to get mine. I'm upgrading from my OP7 after 4.5 years of usage, currently the battery is giving me a poor 4 hr screen usage. Boy am I in for a mind bending surprise.
I too own OP7 since that long and it seems they did pull the Apple on us... Bringing down the battery performance to a shitty 4hrs or less after the last update.
I own OP7T, ordered OP12 now. Exited to get my hands on
I have 7 pro & I'm upgrading too
@hellsfavoritesaltyberserke4724 true... But considering the advancement in battery technology.. it seems all OEMs want the hardware to lose its relevance in 2yrs.
Yes my OP 7 started to not charge up right away or even not turn on
I preordered mine last night. They're giving bonus instant credits for trade ins, so got $300 instant credit for my old OnePlus 9 which I only paid $300 for to begin with and all in all got 16gb/512gb model for alittle over $500. That's an insanely good deal for a brand new phone with killer specs
Nice buy! Congrats on the new phone!
I guess you ship your old phone to them?
Hey congrats man...
I am planning to order mine and need your help. How does the trade-in work, the shipping service guys collect it or do we have to courier it?
They are giving me $420 instant credit for my S22 ultra 256gb. I will miss the S pen for taking group pics but oh well.
its 8 in the morning at my place, I will buy the OP 12 in exchange of OP9 today..... cant wait
Shout out to OnePlus for their ability to provide a powerful, premium smartphone for lower prices. Keep it up OnePlus!!
Seems like a worthy upgrade from my still 🔥🔥🔥🔥 one pkus 7pro

It's crazy. Makes me so sad how little of that we get here in the USA. What I wouldn't give for a North American release of the Vivo...
Simply the best for sure

Yeesh. That's rough. Unfortunately yeah, I think that's just how wireless charging is going to affect a phone like a Pixel.
@@SomeGadgetGuyI forgot man. My apologies. Sent it to you on Mastodon but my post has since disappeared off your page. Not sure what happened.
I still see it.
I like how you reviewed this phone. Probably the most "fair" and reasonable tech YTber I've seen.
OnePlus 12 is still a flag ship killer 2024 with out telling you they are one of you can see you know this 😂😂
The 4-tier system that you mentioned is very well laid out.
I shop ultra because I try to replace a laptop and a camera for travel work LOL. I am not "avuraj cunzoomer".
Agreed. Like a pixel 7A can do almost everything a ultra or Max phone can do
The snapdragon 7+gen 2 has been phenomenal for me. I find that what I need is an adequate amount of RAM so that my phone doesn't start unaliving apps. I also know for a fact that I need a headphone jack.
No phone can compete.
(And the cooler operationing while fast charging while running two apps in split screen.)
My pixel does very well in low light and by simply clocking the shutter, but I miss how I played with settings like color temperature for sunsets on my OnePlus phones.
I've been playing with Super Display! Hoping to share some thoughts on that soon too!
@@SomeGadgetGuy cool. It seems like something that straddles the line. Extra display, but wireless even though you have good reasons to poopoo wireless. Like I said, retaining touch and pen is pretty big for me. It even makes my extra cheap 14 inch slow Android tablet useful.
Excited to see the content the OnePlus Close leads to. Hell I'm excited for the content that I create with it.
Congrats on the new phone! OnePlus Closed is a CHAMP!
OnePlus Closed is catching on 😂
I have an LG V60
Is this 1+ significantly better with the camera? How do the speakers compare to the LG V60?
Your V60 is a gem. I miss LG, phones that came with quadDAC's and all sorts of goodies. It's just unfortunate that it's so well outdated.
I am getting my OP12 tomorrow but I'd almost bet your V60 would be better
My next phone , great overview, thanks Juan.
Dude, that familiarity and brand loyalty analogy is spot on. Just ordered this phone after using Samsung Notes exclusively since 2013. I'm done with their premium prices for less. Let's hope this phone doesn't disappoint
It's a really different animal than a Note, but it brings a completely different value for the cash.
And Marques said he didn't need to review this phone because it is the same phone as last year and he's been busy, yet he reviews Apple and Samsung same crap every year.
🤷
@@SomeGadgetGuy well this aged like milk 🤣
The Best Premium Phone of 2024 in the USA! I would have to agree. I am impressed.

Kudos.

Which one do you prefer , oneplus 12 or Honor magic pro?
I return my s24 ultra and saved 600 dollars 😂😂
DANG! You could buy a whole nuther phone...
I cannot wait to unload my 8 pro (mediocre at best) for a real powerhouse device. Thanks for confirmation I needed 👍🏻
Does this phone support the 5g bands for US carriers.
Yes it does
Does the OnePlus 12 support Miracast aside from video output? I've been wanting to try something different that is not Samsung or Google. I own the Pixel 7 Pro, but I miss Miracast and video output. I don't want to rely on Chromecast-only devices anymore.
Hi Juan. Does the phone support video out over USB C?
Wondering the same thing thing please let us know
Cool review!
I can only speak to mine, but the build is gorgeous. I do mention video out in this review 😁
The best review on this phone yet, this phone is a beast
most honest review i have ever seen keep it up bro 😍🤩
Great and honest review as usual Juan. What your getting for that price point, i don't think there is anything else on the market that comes even close.
I am interested to see if there is any large screen display utility like Dec for the One+ 12.
This is what I call a good unbiased review. My OnePlus 11 is still going strong after a year and it's battery health is still at 💯% ❤
How you can see it?
I would really like a Flagship with a flat screen, i find these so much more pleasing to watch and touch, the LG V60 was just perfect
I WANT that iQOO frame on this OP!
@@SomeGadgetGuyin some other video the guy said IQOO is almost similar or in fact better in some areas, so in the Indian market due to the price difference the IQoo might be in demand. What are your thoughts?
@@sbolar1The issue is that though it is from Oppo, the name IQOO does not sound like a serious one.
Imagine if OP gave us a desktop mode! I love my OP12 to bits, coming off the OP7Pro
If one plus put phones on spectrum ,att and others to finance it would destroy Samsung.
You didn't hear it from me, but the OP12 is basically an Open that doesn't Open.
Keepin it on the DL...
So should i still get the open or go for the 12?
Do you want a foldable or a slate?

Glad you included "in the USA" in the title, in Europe this will be at least as expensive as the S24+
Even at the same price it's a tough fight for Samsung, but here, it's NOT close.
@@SomeGadgetGuy Over here the S24+ is €130 cheaper and has more storage (512 vs 256 GB for the base OP model). Would you reckon the OP is still the better pick here?
Yes. Snapdragon, top screen, charging, battery and you will love oxygen os
In India, highest version of OP12 costs exactly half of the highest version of S24U.
Hello what better s23U vs OP12???
I knew once this phone came out, i'll go straight to your review first lol.
Oneplus is no longer my daily phone (sadly because my OP9 fell victim to the green lines) and this year should have been my upgrade. Happy to see that Oneplus can still be my future choice once my run with this Pixel runs it's course.
I think Oneplus actually learned its lessons after the 11. Going back to having one main model for the year is the right choice instead of having a pro.
I genuinely miss the great speakers all my previous Onplus's spoiled me with. Oxygen OS also polished itself years on after the release of Material You.
Damn. I really want to get back soon...

as a lifetime samsung galaxy owner (i have the s22 ultra & note 10+), this google phone has caught my attention and is telling me to change. will it be worth a change?
The honesty is a breath of fresh air, with everyone STILL bashing the OnePlus cameras and finding reasons to disqualify it as an option in the samapple world.
Yeah the obly thing that could be better is ip 65 rating but you get a charger instead. That's better deal
@@nieznanygoscxd8587 I feel like it's better than ip65, but they just went for a basic rating. Just like the 7t pro was waterproof but they never paid for the rating. Someone tested it 30 mins submerged and it survived.

Hello
Can you compare OnePlus 12 with Samsung S24+
Can anyone tell me if the vibration motor is very strong when you get a notification?
How is the camera quality compared to the Xperia 1V?
Does it have bloatware
How does the mic perform when recording video compared to the s23/4 ultra?

I was waiting ror this review, Juan. Thanks! The OP12 seems neat 😁
I'm enjoying it 😊
I need to upgrade and really hard press to leave my LGv60 (considering finding a second hand and just hoping it keeps running) What is your outlook? Should we consider Oneplus 12 or MotoEdge + (2023/24) edition? Would it be wiser to look toward Sony? The limited options is frustrating and sadly things like headphone jacks are limited (although BL Audio is getting better) From your comments on here this is a great option for most of my functionality as I don’t run desktop mode (even though I would want to). Any solid insights in to these or even a direction from partners like @TKBay would be great.
USA version support dual sim?
Amazing review, so different from the traditional tech copy+paste reviews, I'm OnePlus fan, switched from 8t to pixel 7 and regret since week 2, I'm coming back to OnePlus for the 12R, hope to see your thoughts about that model.... Regards, and you've got a new subscriber 👍🏾

When you're using an external display, can you change the aspect ratio of whatever is on the 2nd screen like LG could?
With another app like second screen.
Where I live the OP12 is almost 1000 usd. Would it make more sense to go for the s24 ultra?
I really like OP phones, but if it's the same price as a Samsung ultra, and you can't beat the price with a sale or trade in, the galaxy is probably a better deal at that price.
OP killing it this year ! 💚 Display, Batery, Camera's, Power 10/10
Can u charge your phone fast with 3rd party chargers, like an 80 watt charger off Amazon 🤔
The full charge speed is only compatible with VOOC chargers, but the phone will support other "fast charging" usually topping out around 40-45W.
How is the selfie camera?
I'm the wrong person to ask. I only use front cameras for video calls.
I'm recommending people wait, and switch over to a 3rd party like chipolo or pebblebee when Google's network goes live, hopefully later this year.
props ty I'm sold
Dah! TH-cam deleted it! It held for review because of the link, and then the comment vanished. Mind trying that again?
@SomeGadgetGuy
Whenever I post a link here, youtube doesn't show my comment. I'll send you the link on reddit via dm.
Great commentary Juan.
I love that you call out industry bias.
And this is a great device that deserves to be acknowledged.
Thid video has earned you a new subscriber.
if only they provided more years of software support, addressed the green line issue a lot of people are bringing up, and enabled more customization in the software like oneui, this would be buy-on-sight purchase.
Guess its time to let go my op7 pro. Op12 looks like the choice.
