    I've been watching TR for some time now. I dont think yall have ever put out a video that's not helpful. It's more of the nuanced stuff that others tend to either gloss over or completely ignore. Great stuff gents.
    Edit: spelling

    Also important to remind people to remember the difference between COVER and concealment. Make sure that before you post up and risk taking incoming rounds while stationary, that you are behind something that is actually going to STOP those incoming rounds. If you are not, then you need to communicate and MOVE to real cover.
    If there is none to be found... Then that is when your drills of getting on target quickly come into play, because you better get a bead on the asshole before he puts some bullets through that drywall and dumps your brother.
    Just something to remember for people just starting to get into this stuff. Always remain aware of your surroundings, and move FROM cover, TO cover. Move with a purpose, Keeping in mind what cover actually is. Just a common mistake i see people make that i thought i would throw out there.
    Great video as usual guys! Thank you for your service

    Tried this yesterday. I was on my own so no team work. The standing position, with your palm against the wall is great, it allows you to cover yourself and be very accurate ( at least at 50 yds). It felt a bit awkward on the kneeling position with my right knee down, I'm just not used to it, I need to work on that one. Thanks guys, as usual. And keep spreading the word of love.

    Yes! Kyle Lamb from Viking Tactics teaches this as well. Not only is it a more stable shooting platform but i can drop my body down and roll my knee forward into my shooting arm and further solidify my stance and combat my recoil .

    Finally someone said it. I hate seeing outside knee down. It's not only good stability to use outside foot but you're going to have a hell of a time getting up and away from that corner, with knee down, in the event of a new threat.

  • @jayjankovich

    Also note, when Carl is shooting over Z, if Z were to stand up Carl can pin Z down with his elbows and stop him from standing up into a shot. Sounds silly but its easy to stand up into a bullet. Good tactic that I used down range. Way past 25 meters too, really out to 100.

    Not sure if you guys have done it yet but I would love to see a video regarding war belts/holster use inside a vehicle. I have found if my pistol is positioned any lower than the belt line I can't sit down in 90% of the vehicles I have tried and I hate having the holster that high yet desire more mobility/versatility due to environmental variables. I honestly haven't seen anyone address this yet. Love your videos, keep up em coming Gentleman.

    • @jayjankovich
      @jayjankovich 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's true but you have to build to that, or you have training accidents. You have to start on the flat range dialing in marksmanship and gun handling, then work drills like this video and then move to scenarios dry, then going hot after rehearsals before you can move to scenarios and force on force stuff. Pushing teams too fast is a recipe for shooters to go side ways and shoot each other or themselves.

    Like the tandem technique, but consider if your hand is against barricade when under fire like you showed, and barricade becomes comprised in that area from rounds coming at you there goes your hand (just a thought)

    • @sloppyjoegilly2356
      @sloppyjoegilly2356 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Joe, typically, in a gun fight, your cover will not consist of thin plywood. Neither are you going to be sitting in a position of incoming rounds that will degrade your cover to the point where rounds are coming through. You will have moved on to better cover by that point.

    • @joebutta7539
      @joebutta7539 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      SloppyJoeGilly2 and TR. understood. Thanks for the replies. I feel the c grip technique would be most effective for an initial engagement (defensive) to place a highly accurate round(s)...then regress (like you said TR) sometimes cover isn't the optimal material, (I understand it's not usually plywood lol) it's what's available, but while taking fire in said position it puts your reloading/grip/ect. hand&fingers in jeopardy instead of a penetrated round catching your plate or grazing shoulder (similar to how you explained proper knee placement). That's all my concern was.

    • @johnwig285

    • @TacticalRifleman
      @TacticalRifleman  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sorry we didn't cover barricades enough in the course. I remember, that range also had a "no steel target" restriction that slowed the class a bit. The key to mastering barricades is to practice them a lot. Everything is a potential barricade; cars, walls, plywood, poles, carts; and they all react differently, as far as hand-holds and support pressure & vibrations. Bridging a real doorway is different than bridging a plywood wall. That said, we would love to have you back out to attend another course. You can do the Combat Pistol/Carbine again (we have guys that have taken it multiple times), or take the Advanced Combat Pistol/Carbine later next year. Thanks for watching. TR

    Small detail to get outta this video; look how Carl put his hand on Z’s shoulder .if needed he could put downward force on Z . Keep him away from his barrel.

    Thank you always for the great content. Karl, what adapter are you using for your holster? Been searching for an adapter with that same drop without a leg strap.

      Buy the one with the leg strap... then, remove it. I customize all my gear to fit me and my requirements. Thanks for watching, TR

    Any thoughts on keeping some distance off the barricade? I’ve always been taught that bullets like to travel walls and you get a better field of view with a couple feet of distance, etc. Is this ever preferred?

      While true, don’t get sucked into the walls, we were arms reach. Also, think narrow hallways with cross coverage... sometimes you are literally right on the walls and just trying to make the best of it. Thanks for watching, TR

    I'm surprised you guys didn't discuss how the standing guy, needs to position himself over top of the low guy, to physically block his ability to stand up, into the line of friendly fire?

      @@MaxOstap exactly my point, this guy thinks everyone is born with the same knowledge...SMH. Carl, as a SEAL, has been doing this stuff so long it's easy to forget the little things. I constantly have to remind myself, just the same...

      Not the point of the video really. Rule of thumb concerning changes in elevation in close quarters with a team is to check back before coming up or wait to be commanded/pulled up.
      In this particular situation, I would hit my head on Karl’s arm and rifle if I come up.
      Feel free to make a video or in depth write up on the subject 👊

      @@zdurham1 relax buddy, no disrespect intended, it was simply constructive criticism. You guys are better at making videos than me and far better qualified. =)

    So Karl, do you ever feel like calling yourself instructor Y when stood next to instructor Z?

    • @TacticalRifleman

      One of the voices in my head is always yelling "Why? Why?"... so I here "Y" too much as it is. I think I'll stick with "Karl." Thanks for watching, TR
