I love your positioning around corners. Some of the best advice I’ve seen. I would also say for anybody reading this, if you’re looking out of a window for example you also want to back up and be as far back in the room as possible. That way instead of sticking your body out of the window or close to the entrance of the window, it’s all the way in the back and hard to locate/ further from rics and first barrier penetration too.
This is the kind of info that is priceless. Thank you Dave and the Tactical Hyve crew for putting this awesome videos. In a different subject, Dave what are the cables around your ear protection? I would assume they are for some kind of comms, but I prefer to ask directly. Thank you and please keep up with the superb job you are doing.
Learned this lesson the hard way in Fallujah, April 2005, after a raid in Husay Jumaylah. Got into a firefight while I was in the back of a high-back humvee with the old Road Warrior armor walls. Had an Iraqi source in the back with me, so I couldn't just leave him, so I had to return fire from inside the humvee. I had an M-16A2 with an ACOG on top of the carrying handle. Saw a guy poking his head out from behind the corner of a building and spraying an AK. I raised my rifle, tried to remember to control my breathing, slow steady squeeze.... BANG!!! The source starts going crazy! "DIRKA DIRKA MUHAMMAD JIHAD!!!" I tell him to shut up. I raised my rifle again, slowing my breath and just focusing on the timing of the guy's actions in order to time my shot.... BANG!! "DIRKA DIRKA DIRKA!!!! MEESTA MEESTA!!! MUHAMMAD JIHAD!!!!" The source is going absolutely bat shit crazy and he points to the vehicle's armor and there are two holes about an inch below the top of the armor plate. When he does this, I noticed that his finger is coated in blood and he's applying pressure with his other hand. I took off my second shirt, which I used as a face mask back then before gators were a thing, and wrapped his finger and told him to apply pressure. I then put my barrel ON TOP of the damned armor, went through the motions, and helped the guy by the building find peace. During the clean-up of the area, sitting inside a secured area after the fight, my SSgt saw the two holes. He yells to me, "You're one lucky son of a bitch! You almost got shot twice!" He was not happy when I told him that they were from me lol Even worse, word got around that I "shot the source," and/or that the small fleck of metal, which lightly cut his finger, about the size of a small splinter, was a ricocheting round; thus giving me the nickname "Ricochet." Lesson learned: sight over bore is a thing and if you don't need to be off cover, then learn to use it effectively; lest you put holes in your cover and make your source bleed lol
Brilliant video! Though always thought that when given the option, you are to look around cover and not over it as you will be less likely to be spotted and also present less of a target as apposed to going up top?
I’d throw in a lighted cryptic bcg in that upper to help medicate wearing , and I’d throw a jp Enterprise silent captured sling system with a h3 weight , he already has what I found out to be the best brake for a DD rifle .That’ll help with tuning that DD m4 ,I did throes those 3 pieces in after buying a bunch of other stuff to help with the over gassing without having to get a adjustable gas block. I found these 3 teams help the best for a DD carbine . Hope that helps. Awesome publication !❤️
Reverse kneel additional benefit: Good for stabilizing your rifle on strong side corner and it’s harder for your teammates to accidentally bump you into the lane.
Comment. I wonder how often that clearance problem appears with the red dot mounted above an lpvo. A video about bipods and when to deploy, when not, mounting location, surroundings would be nice. There were some bits already for long range, but maybe seconds for rifles under different circumstances. The sling & barricade videos with Dave were great as well.
Good shit, i had a buddy in Afghanistan who shot up one of our perimeter camera's from a guard tower on fob fortress, he did the same thing your talking about now, Except he was shooting over the hesco burrier.he shot that shit all to hell. The Taliban was shooting RPGs, and small arms from a mountain top at like 1800 fucking meters away LMAO. My buddy just starts dumping 249 rounds, fucking sparks and shit were going everywhere he thought he was taking effective fire lmao wtf good times. I'll never forget that shit.
Love the TH-cam videos Take the lapel mic and clip it to the brim of Dave's hat next shoot. Run to a small wireless transmitter or recorder attached to the strap on the back of the hat. Wireless transmitters I like: Rode wireless GO Saramonic blink The newest and best technology: Zoom f2bt 32 bit recorder (will prevent your audio from clipping) You can also actually run a mic to the zoom f2 and out of that to a wireless transmitter. The recorder can then be plugged into any speaker with a 3.5mm headphone input for a down and dirty audience speaker for classes while still recording audio.

Woah 😳
When is this man gonna play wolverine
So essentially for me to make sure my barrel can see my target, I just have to make sure my off hand index finger is no lower than the top barricade.
