    • @GotPlants

      With my experience I feel like it gets more pale with more light. I have to pay attention to mine a little bit more and see if that’s really the truth or not tho. 💚🌱☺️

    Hands down best video iv came across for propagating STRING OF TURTLES, going to try your methods, iv only ever did it with Cannabis plants, never thought to try it with these guys :) have 2 variations of string plants a succulent
    I will b turning their living quarters jnto a more Terrarium Like habitat :)
    Could these guys live with any other succulents in glass? The zebra plants or w.e it is? It's a succulent with hard texture and point leaves hard to the touch. Can't think of the name atm

    • @GotPlants
      @GotPlants  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a great way to propagate these kinda plants. String of anything....pearls, hearts, and etc. As for planting with succulent it might or might not work...since they have different kind of watering requirements right? I dunno you can try a small piece to try. 💚🌱

    Hi, how do you water the ones in the glass containers? do you use a syringe? tap water? do you water once a week?

    • @GotPlants
      @GotPlants  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We use tap water. Our plants don’t mind it. When watering the glass containers we just tilt it and pour water in or water it over the sink. 😊💚🌱 also we water when it’s dry.

    Would you recommend to put them im a propagation box? I put my sot cuttings on top of the soil in a pot and just decided to put it in my propagation box. But not too sure about that.. Thank you🌱

    • @GotPlants
      @GotPlants  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      insom nia propagation box of course helps. It with the heat and humidity in the box it would encourage it to root faster. 💚🌱

    Is a west facing window ok?

    • @GotPlants
      @GotPlants  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The turtles prefer a bright location. I believe a south and east facing window would work best. Be careful because too strong of a light exposure would also hurt the plant. I do have some cuttings around darker areas of my house and they seem to be doing fine. Just monitor your plants. They will let you know if they are happy or not.

  • @aomysirapa

    Will just using the leaves of this plant cause it to grow ?

    • @GotPlants
      @GotPlants  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. If a leaf (a healthy one) falls off by mistake just lay it back on top of the soil and it should root for you and grow into its own little plant. Make sure soil is moist and not too wet. 😁💚🌱

  • @brittanykerns8510
    @brittanykerns8510 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi what soil do you use for your string of turtles?

    • @GotPlants
      @GotPlants  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We use whatever we have around the house. Either regular potting mix with added perlite or maybe cactus succulent mix. It really doesn’t matter what you use...just need to monitor it and make sure to water it when it’s thirsty. 😁💚🌱

  • @vntsoul

    • @GotPlants

      Sorry that you're having trouble with your plants. It's hard to say what's wrong with your plant. Could be water....lighting...temps...or the soil you're using. Just try different things to see if it changes the status of the plant. If it's really doing bad then maybe take some cuttings to try to save it. Wish you luck!

    I'm getting mine tomorrow. It's my first plant and idk what im doing lol. Any tips? My biggest concern is watering. I want to get a shallow well drained pot I think. Ive thought of getting those glass globes u fill with water and put in the soil. Im so nervous!!! Thank you 🥰

    • @GotPlants
      @GotPlants  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Water then sparingly. They have succulent leaves so I feel like they can go longer without water. Let it dry out between watering and they should do just fine. 😊💚🌱🐢

    Can you make a video on how you make terrariums for this. I have 3 in terricotta but I'd like to do what you did here.

    • @GotPlants
      @GotPlants  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We really didn’t do anything special here. It was just something we threw together quickly...with some soil mixture ( succulent cactus soil with perlite added). In the future if we ever make one we would add other things like charcoal and maybe even some sand. We will try to make a video on a terrarium in the future. Thanks for the suggestion.

    hi there, thanks for sharing ! i just got my prostrata the kind of glass terrarium that you're keeping yours in in the video. at first i was pretty worried that i might kill them because i can be quite heavy handed on the watering side sometimes, but after 2 weeks in i feel like they're actually happier kept within this glass terrarium, putting out lots of baby leaves here and there. i think they are really liking the humidity. and not to mention they also look good in these glass terrariums, haha ! one thing that i'm still wondering with my prostrata is that the older leaves can look somewhat washed out and i don't know whether they're getting too much or not enough sunlight. although the newer leaves do come out with more prominent markings but i've noticed that the leaf markings on your prostrata are very prominent throughout all of its leaves. any tips maybe, or do you fertilize them?

    • @GotPlants
      @GotPlants  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It seems like you're doing exactly what you're suppose to be doing. If they look happy i won't change your routine. Also I believe the older ones are much lighter in color compared to the new leaves. That's how mine has been growing. Also we don't fertilize much but when we do might a very light dosage during the spring and summer.

    Hi I love how looks like your plant. What is the medium that you use? Soil mixture?

    • @GotPlants
      @GotPlants  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We use whatever potting medium we have around the house. Which is usually potting soil or succulent cactus mix and of course perlite mixed it to which ever soil we use. Which ever medium you use just make sure you monitor it and water it only when it’s needed. 😊💚🌱
