Don Everly's face looks so young, he looks like a young man pretending to be an old man. What a voice, what a legend. RIP Don
May his memory be eternal.
couldnt help tears thankyou Ricky for makeing it so special for Don . now hes gone
Thanks for watching Faye…..Joe
Who would've thought that the Mother would outlive both of them.
R.I.P. Don!
True… thanks for watching Tom…. joe
Even with his cane, Don still has a youthful spirit about him here. I paid my respects to the Everly Brothers the other day in Central City, KY. Saw their monument at the music museum, drove down Everly Brothers Blvd., then visited the cemetery. There's a large Everly headstone, one for Ike, father of Don and Phil; one for Mary, daughter of Don's who was born and passed away on the same day in 1957. I got tears in my eyes when I saw the marker for Phil, who passed in 2014. I put a rose on each marker. I did not see a marker for Don. May their memories be eternal! Amazingly, Margaret Everly at 102 has outlived her husband and sons.
I met the Everly Brothers when they performed at Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio south of Cleveland in1986. It was after their show at their hotel. Both men tired from performing, they graciously made time for us, signing autographs and talking with us for about 15 minutes. Two of the nicest gentlemen I’ve ever met. I will never forget them or their music. Thank you Don and Phil for the memories and the music. R. I. P.
Life is Short. Art is Long. RIP Don Everly.
I had been watching them on YT for a solid week........then Don dies on my birthday ...what a great voice😢
R.I.P Don Everly. Still inspiring guitar players all these years later. Now how many people can say that? Thoughts and prayers to his family. 🙏
Don and Phil will be harmonizing together again. Purely angelic.
I love the Everly Brothers sound.
Thanks Joe. Greatly appreciated. My heroes are leaving me.
Thanks again for watching Blues…. joe
bless his heart seems hurtful how he went from a young good looking young man to an elderly good looking old man RIP Don and Phil
Tom T. Hall, Don Everly, Charlie Watts...sad week for music...r.i.p. ... thanks for posting this Joe.
Thanks for watching again Joseph….Joe
RIP Don...and today Charlie Watts
😎👍❤🖖
God-bless The Everly Brothers!
The Everlys were classics and a class act.
Brian May even said that he patterned the harmonies of Queen from the Everly's. Such brilliance.
Rip to a great artist
Thanks again for watching 567….. Joe
Don looks wonderful. You can see his beautiful cheekbones again. For some years he was a bit heavier
The brothers set the bar for pop harmonies. They did it right, they perfected it.Every word in Paul Simon’s letter must be emphasized, there is not one word that is an overstatement. History shows us, their music has had a more fundamental and deeper effect that we we were aware from their humble beginnings! LONG LIVE THE EVERLY BROTHERS!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Such a coincidence! “Wake up Little Susie” just played on my Alexa while Ricky Skaggs played it! Will always love and miss Don, he’s my favorite singer! 💖
That was pure gold Joe! What an iconic song and amazing guitar riff. Watching this I can't help but wonder where all those years gone? RIP Don Everly
Thanks again for watching Steve….. Joe
Terrific vs of "Wake Up Little Susie" by Ricky Skaggs and friend. Bravo!
Glad Don got this award while he was alive. I didn't realize his mother Margaret was still alive! She is 102. He thanked his wife and sister in law, but didn't mention his mother, and I was wondering why. Looks like there were some family issues re a house transfer and that perhaps left some hard feeling, don't know. Anyway, I'll thank his mother for having him and Phil, I still enjoy their music today as well as back in the day when it was first born some 60+ ya.
Thanks for watching Del……..Joe
At 82 you might forget a few things. I’m sure Don unintentionally forgot to mention his Mom. RIP Don and Phil.
@@billbrimmer1739 Maybe, maybe not. I found that she filed a law suit against Don about taking over ownership of a house Don and Phil gifted to her long ago. IRS had to get involved. Phil signed over his stake in the home to her, but Don did not. So, there may have been some long standing issues after all between mother and son, and it might not be just some oversight due to age, just saying.
@@delstanley1349 Thanks for the clarification. That is a sad story indeed.
There was a problem between them and their Mother. Very unfortunate.
Priceless. Don looked so happy. Rest in Peace. 🙏
Joe Chambers, you are a treasure; thank you
Thanks Carter…. Best.Joe
What a great duet. Will be missed.
BMW…. Thanks for watching…. Joe
I was so sad to hear that Don had passed away. The Everly Brothers have been a constant throughout my life. Thanks so much for all the work you do Joe, you’re capturing history and I think that’s such an important thing for us all. ✌🏻💜☀️
Thanks Shaun…………Joe
@@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum You’re welcome Joe, I hope to get out and visit the Musicians Hall of Fame at some point in the near future. Keep up the good work!
We're close to the Everly Brothers here in Iowa where I live. One hundred and thirty-three miles away, they cut their performance teeth at a little radio station KMA in Shenandoah, Iowa in the early 50's. After that, they hit the big time and the rest is history. The guys playing on this video really showed what professional musicians can do.
The Everly Brothers' harmonies are so beautiful. I listen to all kinds of music, from '50s and ''60s rock, to soul music and jazz, and even some of the hardest, heaviest metal, but the Everly Brothers' vocals and music have a *special, sacred place* in my heart! Those two men were *born to sing together* with amazing talent on loan from God Himself! Rest in peace, Don Everly! You will be so missed!
Man ! That was great !
Joe, I’m so glad you had the foresight to record these nuggets of time.
I say it a lot but it honestly is so appreciated.
Thanks again Sarge…. Joe
This is" ALL ABOUT (( YOU )) ♥️ Don Everly ... No other ' names ' to MENTION! And THANK YOU So. ⚘ Mr. Everly..

Bless his heart, this made me cry. RIP to both Don and Phil , legends and icons , an inspiration to many . Their harmonies are effortless, just like The Bee Gees . Very humble , genuine. Don and Phil will be missed.
Great video Joe. It was cool to see the instant respect the crowd had for the Bryant's. The more I learn about Paul Shaffer the more I like him.
Hi John…. Thanks for watching… yes Paul Shaffer is a very cool guy… best, Joe
This guy meant - and continues to mean - a lot to so many of us. Thanks, Joe and team, for creating invaluable documents like this.
Thank you Greg….. Joe
Thank you Joe. What a joy. Thank you for all you do and have done, to keep the music and artist’s input, alive and well. Daisy Doodle was my chihuahua. John Castleberry.
Thanks John… Joe
We love you Joe. Thank you for everything you have shared with us all. We truly appreciate it all. And we truly do love you for everything you have shared. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. This channel is such a wonderful thing. It's really tremendous. Thank you for all of it
Hi 1231239…… you are way to kind but I appreciate it. I’m very happy you have enjoyed the interviews and award show clips. I enjoyed doing them too. Thanks again for supporting us…. It means a lot to me…….. best, Joe
Thanks Joe. You mean a lot to all of us!
Great tribute to Don, thanks for sharing Joe!💫
Thanks again for Larry….Joe
It was a great video but sad to see him so frail and walking with a cane. Rest In Peace Don. One of my guitar influences for certain. That’s a fun riff to play too.
Yes, he seemed to get frail really quick. And, what was it with the huge scarf draped around him constantly? He was clearly suffering from some malady. Anyway, I too would like to say that both Don and Phil played a huge part of my life at a time when I was an up and coming musician. Also, while referring to guitar riffs, don't let us forget that wonderful intro to Bye, Bye Love. I challenge anyone to listen to it RIGHT NOW and not go "Wow!"
So much loss in a short time between Tom T Hall, Don Everly and Charlie Watts.
Dusty hill too :(
THANKS JOE FOR ALL YOU DO 🥃😎👍
Thanks again outlaw…..Joe
Sirius Xm 60s on 6 had a nice mention of your induction of Don and how it was the first award of its kind. So sorry for the loss of your friend. May he rest in peace. God Bless and thank you for this great video. 👍🏻😎
Thanks again David….. joe
Both boys could use 'soundbites' very effectively. Yes he was pleased/excited but he was also aware of people, apart from one, not there
As always another great video. Thank you for sharing and helping preserve the work of so many of these great artists that have been the soundtrack to so many of our lives. It is truly appreciated sir.
Thsnk you too 1515……..Joe
First time hearing them.
They had travelled many miles and many years together. Their voices were filled with love ❤️
So touching.
We can’t outrun Father Time folks
Great video. Sad we lost Don and Tom T the same weekend. Lots of great music from both of those talented guys!!!!
TCB FOREVER
thanks Joe for this clip glad to see the late Don Everly to bad his brother could not have been interviewed by you as well
Hi Jennifur….. actually I didn’t have a chance to interview either Don or Phil. Phil was kind enough to perform at our induction concert for the Crickets since they were the Everly’s band too after Buddy passed but for some reason I
didn’t ask Phil back in 2008. Don use to shop in my Nashville guitar shop back in the later 90’s. At the time I had never dreamed of founding the MHOF. Best, Joe
@@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum at least you got to meet both of them
What a super video Joe thank you so much as l was so sad to learn of Don s passing. I was privileged to meet Phil and Don after their concert at the Spektrum Oslo Norway on 24 July 2004 when they appeared with Simon and Garfunkel in concert. I had the greatest pleasure having seen them previously at the Royal Albert Hall London on September 23 1983. I had followed their music closely since my early days at Grammar School in England from 1957. Together with the Byrds and the Moody Blues they were my all time favourites and they will be sadly missed but their music lives on. A brilliant duo!
Thanks for watching Roger…. Joe
Yes!
I grew up on The Everly's fine music of the Bryant writing team. RIP Don
Thank You Joe,
Thanks Tom…. joe
Outstanding!!!
Awesome! Iconic Riff Awards -- I need to find the list. Thanks SO much for the timely posting of this moment in time, Joe. I also was so glad to see the response from the audience when the Bryant's names were mentioned. Often overlooked among songwriters, Phil and Don put them on their backs and carried them to great places.
I visited the Musicians Hall of Fame last week and highly recommend it to everyone. Interactive exhibits allow visitors to participate in making music and writing songs and the displays of recording studios, instruments, costumes, album covers and other music memorabilia are outstanding. The greeter, a musician, was friendly, knowledgeable and asked visitors where they had travelled from. Had a great time.
Thanks for watching and visiting our museum Mystic.. Joe
What player is alive who DIDN'T learn this song at some point in their development? Kudos Joe, as always.
Thanks Johnny………. Joe
I so enjoyed this! Thank you!!!
Thanks Jim… Joe
A beautiful, delightful and humble....MAN!
❤🎶🎸🎶🙏🙏🙏
I am crying !
Keep the stories alive. Great music never dies…..and every song has a story.
gave me goosebumps,,,,bravo
Much Love!
Thank you for this
Thank you too Doris for supporting our channel………Joe
Joe, keep up the great work. Love your low key approach to your interviews and conversations with the musicians. You have a masterful and friendly manner of helping them relax and open up to you. Fantastic work.
*Coming from a native Kentuckian.
Thanks for watching Chris… thanks for the kind comments too… joe
I went to the Musicians Hall of Fame in 2019 to see Don Everly inducted. It was very moving. Thier Mom Margaret Everly is Buried in a Mausoleum in Nashville Tn. That is so sad that there is no marker for Don at the family plot in Central City Ky.
Joe, thanks to all of your historical and interesting interviews, you bring the background of iconic songs to us. Thanks. And another great singer/musician leaves us to make great music in heaven.
Thanks for watching again Mike ………. joe

Man, those guys saved you, Joe, lol. They did great.
Yes they did Bill but I knew they would and could….. best, Joe
Joe this song was a joke between my late dad and myself. for some reason when i was born, and it had nothing to do with the old rock and roll song, he called Me Sussie Q. so my late brother used joke about it and my dad too
Thanks
That "iconic riff" probably influenced Pete Townshend of The Who.
Nik…. Most all the bands that came after the Everly’s said they influenced them…. Joe
Can't miss with Ricky Skaggs!
Greeeaaat job,
Karl
The Everly Brothers have reunited.
YA JOE !!
Thank you Joe for sharing this gem with us and also clip of fellow Canadian Paul Shaffer. Truly appreciated.
Paul’s a great guy Ivan… thanks for watching…Joe

Not a Good Day for Music. As Charlie Watts past today, too !
Da staunt sogar Don 😅
He forgot to leave his bath towel at home!
Wow, he looks like a young guy pretending to be an old guy
That ICONIC RIFF was stolen from BO DIDDLEY
