I do cleaning of the IAC Value on my cars interval of every 30k miles/km. Doing that minimized gunk inside throttle body, IAC valve & butterfly valve. Doing this I do not require to reset by removing negative batery cable. I do ATF/CVT fluid change every 30k-40k miles, that is the time I clean the throttle body & IACV too.
Another symptom is rough shifting as the rpms drop rapidly while shifting
Is it absolutely necessary to disconnect negative battery cord or is this just for computer reset purposes?
Yes it is necessary. The computer has to be reset otherwise it thinks the old part is still in there
@@sterlingscharmen2850 much appreciation sir 🙏

Mine was 200$ for a 2000 civic.
@Thatboostedkseries you got Ripped off then. They are $63- 120 for that car depending on the engine on RockAuto
yep, text as all messed up. "In enough shell" LOLOLOL
So how do we reset it without replacing it?
Just replace it if you go to the trouble of taking it out. Why would anyone try reset that, then pay a mechanic $300 to put one in 🤯
