@@ebayerr Um, ok? But, I'm sorry to break it to you. Texas was never its own country. They were always either a province of Mexico (a rebellious one) or a part of the United States. Texas did declare independence in 1835, but despite the Mexican President Santa Anna signing the Treaties of Velasco (which recognized Texas independence) it was under duress, so wasn't a formal and legal separation of state. They had captured the president, who was also a general, during one of the battles and forced him to sign in order to avoid being hanged. But, the treaty meant nothing without Mexico's Congress approving it, and only considered it rebellion. Sure, the US recognized Texas as an independent state, but that meant nothing, as well. It was all a ruse in order to annex Texas nearly a year later. (I'm sure you heard of the Mexican American War.) So, no. Texas was never its own country. Claiming independence means nothing when you're annexed by another country before you actually make it to the finish line and win that independence (aka: forming a legal treaty to recognize that independence, much like the US did with the British Empire). Amen. We even had the hazing at my high school. We called it “Dog Day”. Seniors bought sophomores and subjected them (us) to all sorts of stuff. I had to wear a dress, put Vaseline in my hair, get doused in glitter and carry catfish bait in my purse which I forgot in every class. For some reason, it was fun as hell. Unlike the movie, the hazing was the same for guys and girls.
Imo the music budget should be higher than the actors budget. Music is everything. It can make a movie. Check out what Cameron Crow spent on ALMOST FAMOUS 🎸🎧🎤📻. Rock and Roll.
I went with a couple of friends to see this in the theater in the U dist in Seattle when I was 18, it was the most fun matinee I’d been dragged to see 😂
I went to the local AMC theater in Coral, Gables and watch this movie on one of the big screens ! When I came out of the movie, I went to a local restaurant attached to the shopping mall called Thurman’s ! I sat at the counter, ordered my lunch and all the TVs had this car moving like 20 miles an hour on a super highway with like 10 cop cars behind it ! I asked my waitress what is this all about and she says I don’t wanna hear it. We’re all tired of it, but the manager won’t let us turn the channel. ! But I didn’t know was I was watching the O.J. Simpson slow speed chase in Brentwood California. He was suicidal at the time he had a gun to his head head and his friend convinced him to pull over and allow him to be taken into police custody. ! Two incredible memories in one afternoon and only cost me about 15 bucks .
When I first met my husband, he is. Jr so I used to tell him "better watch your step JR" and made him watch it so he knew what I was talking about lol Still top 5 favorite movies
The actress Mila Jovovich was in this movie ! She was disappointed that about 80% of all of her scenes were edited out of the movie ! She found this annoying and depressing ! I wish they would find her footage and put it into a Director is cut which they haven’t done yet . Hint, hint, hint !!! So she retired from movies for a while because of this working so hard than being cut out of most of the movie she was paid a little bit, but it was more disappointing than it was enjoyable for her ! Thank God, someone convinced her to get back into the business and not cut her out of the movie she was in What would fifth element be without Mila Yovich protecting Bruce Willis, and the entire planet earth !!
@@troydudley5258 Most of them, as I already said. It’s WELL known that they had a problem with paying for song rights, so they used cheaper ones. Name one time in the movie that the year is referenced. Everything online NOW says 1976, which NOW includes those songs, but it was originally 1970ish. Maybe Mitch was CLASS of 76’.
25 yo Shawn Andrews also took off w 15 yo Mila Jovovich and they eloped. Fortunately, her mother managed to find them & had it annulled. Doesn’t seem like there’s anything TO like about this DB.
Yeah I’ve read he had problems with quite a few people on set. He seems like douche. It wasn’t just the ending that was changed, I think he was supposed to be in the film as a whole a lot more than he was, but he was just such a bitch to deal with. Which was kinda funny, before I ever read all of that, there was just something I inherently never cared for about Pickford lol
The sound track was money well spent its got classics from start to finish 🤘

Dazed and confused one of the best movies hands down 🙌🏻
Yup, shop teacher was my shop teacher in middle school. Mr mcfarland!
Spending extra on the Soundtrack was a brilliant move.
Paying for the music was 100% worth it.
Definitely one of the best coming of age movies and in my top 5 movies of all time. Texan director and Texas backdrop and pure Americana.
The Republic of Texas was its own country from 1836-1845.

I absolutely love this movie its one of the best classics
There was so much music in that movie they had to come out with two soundtracks dazed and confused and even more dazed and confused.

This IS High School, for me. It was just like this movie. It's like someone followed me with a camera, during my life.
I heard they wanted the Zepplin for the opening song but somebody said no or they could not afford it. But Sweet Emotion fits so well....
The money they spent on Aerosmith's Sweet Emotions for the opening credits scene cost more than any of the actors got paid
Ahaha 😂 “paddles.” Okay
The soundtrack was 100 percent worth it.
Remember being in high school watching this with my parents n their friends that where in high school in this time period in the 70’s
This movie will always b a classic 👍💪🇺🇸
