I carry a golf tee in my glove box. I don't golf, but if you ever need a plug for a vacuum line or a hole in a fuel tank it is there. When I went thru aviation school and old guy gave me one and I have kept it ever since. I use it and then fix the problem and put it back.

Our local 'Pull a Part' has its own version of this game. Lately, by the check-out area, they have books, clothes, shoes, toys, tools, etc. that they found in the cars for sale! No food or drinks yet, like the supermarket check-out lines. Guess no one wants a Twix bar or a Monster that has been aging, like fine wine. 🤔 And kudos to Steve, the hardest working guy on TH-cam!

Yikes, post is disappearing, so we'll try this again.
Oddly enough, the inspection ticket says it's a 1973, not a 1972 model, so I wish you would have showed the VIN and the trim tag to verify. I wouldn't say that's a 2008 wallet. That's the style number of the item. The Fisher #21 plant still exists in Detroit, at 700 Piquette, but it hasn't been used by GM since 1984 and by others since about 1993. It's a haven for urban explorers now. That Firestone location still exists.
Those pamphlets are a hard find as there are only so many printed and that's it as they changed year to year. I was able to "recreate" the glovebox literature on my Trans Ams by finding all the pieces in junked cars. My mom still had an IBM Selectric at her job circa 2010, so I had her type up each one and you can't tell they weren't done 40+ years ago. Oddly enough, we didn't have the one for the 1980 Trans Am and I don't eve recall seeing it, even from new. Strange. I did find one of pieces for the '79 Trans Am in a 1977 Cadillac. It was about 3 inches from rotten food and I got it just in the nick of time. LOL. That set up is now complete with me finding the radio brochure on Ebay a few years back. A friend of mine found the special folder given to the owner with the congrats letter included. He paid about $40 for it, they go for $300+ now if you find one.
We were right on the VIN for the Monte Carlo, so we're good there. That Chevrolet dealer is gone and a repair shop exists in its place now.
Fisher's origins are in Norwalk, Ohio but they started around 1908 in Detroit, MI and operated until about 1984 when they were split up and melded into the various GM subsidiaries at the time.

Hi Steve, great 2nd installment of "What's in the box". My grandfather wasn't a drinker, but he referred to the glove box as the "licker pocket" (Liquor) he said back in his day they used it to carry a bottle of 'something' and a pistol. He also said back then when you met a man on the street you were always respectful of him and tipped your hat to his lady (wife, GF, $30 cherry etc) because you don't know what he had his hand on in his pocket. No pre-prohibition booze or pistola in the box today. Oh well, better luck next time. Here's a good idea Steve 'whats under the seat?' As you mentioned before, in the case of that turbo, Buick a thin layer of carpet and mother nature is probably about it. Going back Steve, I thought of YouTubing my adventures to shows, etc. I think I would be very competitive with videos of paint drying and cars rusting. 😅 Cool, right? I might not be 1st, but I'd have my days
when I would be 2nd because the paint will eventually dry. My man, Mr. Google should do a response video ch.or fact checking ch. That'll be cool. I need to send you a case or 2 of hand sanitizer or GoJo...lol 🤣 rmouse poooo. 😷 Have a blessed day everyone 🤙🏼 Namaste🙏🏼

    • @chrisscearce
      @chrisscearce ปีที่แล้ว +1

@Google User GP Hi Mr GP 👋🏼 I was just saying you could have a ch here on TH-cam similar to those that do response videos when they 1st hear a song, etc. I dig the facts you bring to the table. You could do something similar with facts or fact check video whether the creator made a mistake or how they're correct with your findings. The GoJo and hand sanitizer part was for Steve and his healthy future in the making of the 'What's in the box?" videos. Not a self-service jesture .🤣 Well, you can turn your passion into a side hustle or jump in with both feet and go 100% on the ch. I think it would be a winner. Here's an example: Steve loads a video(or any other car video creator) and take that video and critique it, whether it be positive or negative. If they're wrong, so be it you have the facts as backing. I think maybe you could spread the correct info quicker this way or just another avenue to get the info out there. Oh well I have to git now. The tractor 🚜 is running, and I have about 7 more acres to mow in the front yard ⛳️ and I'll start the backyard this afternoon. An awful scary cloud off to the west of me, but they're not calling for any rain today. But there's an old saying 'If you don't pay the preacher it wont rain on your farm.' He always knows I'm not in attendance just by looking at the collection plate. Have a blessed day, 🤙🏼Namaste 🙏🏼

Hello Chris, great ideas. Especially your idea of video-blogging your adventures at music events. I'm sure you'll gather a following quickly. And a Great Thing is that you won't have to worry about "copyright claims" if your use of "copyrighted" music is used in an educational or transformative way. I don't use any music (other than free download stuff Super Shane digs up) for fear of being taxed by the Beach Boys or David Bowie's estate. That said, if I'm reading the "fair use" clause correctly, IFFF I take a Beach Boys song and explore it in an educational way, I can use it. I'm not musical so I'll pass but it is a fact that TH-cam is about the only place where you can use some Rolling Stones music (in the correct context) and not have Mick come-a-running. Ice Ice Baby! -Steve Magnante

@Steve Magnante Hi Steve 👋🏼 I have several recordings of my trips out west. Last September, I decided after the Renewal Festival in Colorado instead of flying back home that I'd drive back. No refund on my return ticket but it didn't matter. I was standing in the airport, and something pulled me to the rental car desk. I was told a gut feeling is God or spirit talking to you. So I decided I'm gonna drive back to NC. I rented a 2022 Camery with that wonderful option of lane assist. I left the airport and my 1st stop was the Best Buy store and got the best Dash Cam they offered and about 10 memory cards. I had it up and running in no time but what and where am I going was my next dilemma. The Grand Canyon was 9hrs in the opposite direction. 😳 So I'm standing at the Canyon's edge 9hrs later. 😂 Drove from there to Devil's Tower, Crazyhorse (great back story about how it came about), Mt Rushmore, the Badlands, Sturgis, the burning off of the fields in Kansas and Oklahoma not to mention being passed on the interstate by a school bus with my cruise set at 80mph 👀 St Louis arch, Memphis, Nashville. I don't want to make this too long I stopped at many locations and different roadside sights. If one of those brown or blue highway signs caught my eye. It would trigger the turn signal on the Yota. I'm not sure why that trip was different or special to me. The weather was perfect, no rain or cloudy days. Temperatures were the same. I have some of the other trips saved up. I'd have to take the time to learn editing here on TH-cam hopefully it's not rocket science 😬 I didn't do so well in that subject in HS. I don't know Steve I'll give it some thought. All of my videos would have music playing and me on the phone etc. I think I clocked almost 10k miles on that trip and earned a boat load of points in hotel stays 😅 Have a blessed day 🤙🏼 Namaste 🙏🏼

You could go on forever covering things like where the car was built. When the plant closed. Jobs outsourced. Etc. Take the lowly Ford Taurus for example, built in Atlanta in a plant Ford opened in the late 40s. Parts for that plant had been shipped by rail for decades and passed through here almost daily. When Ford closed the massive plant (now torn down) rail traffic (and those jobs) dried up. And never came back. On the other hand, Ford's old Edsel plant in KY is still turning out new Fords.

Hello smith gorrilugum, I grew up on a small farm (inactive but the barn and fields and stone walls to nowhere were still very much in place) and ran amok in nature from age 5 to present (I'm not grown up, but that's another story). I always find that critters great and small RUN, RUN, RUN away from approaching humanity. Any critter left behind is likely to be sick, dead or packing Rabies. The chances of this are low, low, super low. So there really isn't much danger in "blind plunges" into glove boxes. That said, I'm in Massachusetts where Truly Dangerous critters like Black Widow spiders and Rattle Snakes are NOT a natural element. I did some videos in Texas, California, New Mexico, etc. and in those states MUCH caution must be exercised. But again, if I stomp my feet during my approach, snakes tend to get gone. Not so much for Black Widows but the "tell" on them is a thick, crazy web about as strong as cellophane. These I AVOID because the Black Widow might be sitting off to the side ready to sting. But that's all very uncommon or not an issue at Beautiful Bernardston Auto Wrecking where the greatest danger is being licked to a rash by Queen Katie the dog. Thanks again for watching and writing. -Steve Magnante

    G'day.
You don't have poisonous spiders in your area, do you ? Tell ya what, in Australia, you wanna have a good look, as soon as you swing the door open. Snakes too.

Good point. Correct there are no known poisonous spiders at Bernardston, Massachusetts. I have shot in California and have learned to detect and avoid the crazy, thick webs made by Black Widows. As for snakes, there aren't any Rattlers in the north east. The BIG threat is coming soon as summer hits. That's wasps and hornets in MASSIVE nests / hives. I've seen watermelon-sized hives that were still active. I stay away from those! But in colder weather there isn't much worth worrying about at Bernardston except for the BLACK BEARS. But "they only come out at night" (Thank You Billy Corgan and The Smashing Pumpkins!). The day is much too bright. Thanks again for watching and writing. -Steve Magnante

It seems like everyone liked "The Hubcap Game" videos but, to me, they were just OK. So far, I like "What's In The Box" a lot better.
Still waiting on a video of the red with yellow "scallops" Dodge truck Steve!
