1400 Miles in 56 Year Old Car - KC To Vegas THE HARD WAY - ROADKILL ROADTRIP!

- @BuffsGarage and I got bored so we decided to do a Roadkill-inspired adventure, where we throw a dart at a map, and let the chips fall where they may, quite literally, in Las Vegas, Nevada. We choose a car out of my personal junkyard, a 1968 AMC Rebel, get to work on it, and hit the road, attempting to cover 1400 miles in just 3 days total. The goal being, get to Vegas, auction the car off to fans, and donate the proceeds to a local charity! Oh, and also, I have to hit Chris Birdsong in the mouth. Will we accomplish our mission?

you guys are so great doing this for kids thats why i love your videos.
Your donations to the childrens hospital hit home for me. We lost our son almost 2 years ago and he was at a children's hospital for 4 months. You're one of the best if not the best youtubers who does cars. Keep it up Dalton!
I’m truly sorry for your loss, I can’t imagine losing my son, thank you for sharing and this is the reason I give to the McDonald’s charity, they did a life saving procedure on my good friends son at 2 years old. Anything for the kiddos and veterans in my book! Again so sorry for your loss, I know that’s not much compared to what you lost! 🙏
Man I'm sorry for your loss. I appreciate the kind words, I just hope that kids still like hot wheels..
I work in a hospital, in operations. All of us have who have spent a few years "On the ground," have been within feet of people passing, hospice things going on- the absolute worst is when it's a baby or kid. All of us guys feel that...
Man Travis. Sorry for yalls loss Bud. We should never have to lose one of our children. Or anybody elses child either, for that matter. I'm a West Tennessean, and we have St. Jude just 60 miles down the road from us. We are blessed to have a place like that, where all those doctors are doing everything in their power, day and night, to stop that from ever happening again.

Thanks!
Dalton what you did for the children for Christmas was nothing BUT absolutely Amazing Awesome you are a Good Hearted person with a amazing soul. You can ACT all cold hearted and mean BUT deep down you are an amazing person who does think of others and care about others. MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and your family even though it's a little late.
Those are old school hydraulic shocks, no gas charge means they don't extend on there own. As long as the there is resistance and no dead spots they are fine.
Miss those days from roadkill. Now its even better with you guys.
My Dad was an AMC mechanic for many years, so I grew up in 70's and early 80's driving everything from Pacers, Gremlins, too Jeep pickups. Drove my dad's work car, a blue'68 Rebel 770 343V8 during my sophomore year until I got pulled out of a muddy ditch being stupid across a concrete culvert. Pushed the tranny up an fan went through the radiator! He was pissed! He loved that old Rebel. Took that 343 out, put in in my '69 Ambassador SST 2dr. We had various 232's and 258's that were transplanted into other vehicles as well. Bulletproof little 6's! Brought back alot of good memories watching this!😊
They're honestly really good cars. Cheaply made but efficient
I always liked the clean body lines of the AMC Rebel. It's like AMC asked 1,000 3rd graders to "draw a picture of a car" to get their design cues.
No, that's how they got the last Matador, the Gremlin, and the Pacer!
We'll have to find those now old men and women and tell them at their retirement mcmansions in Miami, FL that they designed a nice car when they were in the 3rd grade. Their design paid them well.👍😂
I had a 76 Hornet. It was a poc. Plain
Old Car.
AMC were cars you either loved or hated. The ones I have owned were great except one of the Hornets but I bought it as a parts car and made money on it. Dalton is wrong about AMC veing the first ti build a unibody car though. The first was the Chrysler Airflow in 1933.
Man I love the children’s hospital donation. When my son was a newborn we were in a Children’s hospital between thanksgiving and Christmas with an infection on the brain. 2 years later and he’s helping dad fix cars.
So i made a comment about you talking trash about the Rebel. Then i see how great you guys are buying toys for kids. Thank you guys for restoring my faith in humanity. Love the Channel buddy.
You guys are awesome. Thank you for being who you are.
That was so very kind of you Dalton.... also for making it an even $1,000. ❤....You do an excellent job staying in touch with your viewers
Wouldn't be here without viewers, so I figure it's a chicken and the egg situation
Thanks! Cheers Mate! 🍻
Not nearly enough AMC car content on the web. Thanks for giving the other guys some love. Im an 80s kid and grew up with both parents in the 90s driving 2 AMCs. My mom had a mint 67 American wagon with the 199 six. my dad had a 67 Rebel sst 2 door with a 290. they both drove them year round here on the north coast. In my garage is a 67 Marlin my parents bought in 90. not only am i an AMC guy, but also did the rout 66 trip as a kid. very cool video!
At the sober check point..."idiots" I died laughing! Awesome job for the kids! Thanks guys!
Thanks dalton and Buff for doing the charity work YOU GUYS ROCK!! Awesomevideo!
You Rock Dalton! as a Dad, a friend, a good motorhead guy all around. John DeLorian would be proud of your Pontiac prowess. Thank you and Buff for the Tribute!
Youre a GOOD DUDE dont ever change!!!
Giving 1000$ worth of toys to sick kids shows what kind of guy Dalton is , just awesome, man !
Awesome job on the toys for kids!!!
That was so much fun
The joy of you and Buff just buying everything in the toy aisles was evident!
Hungry children need toys
@@60EFFIE Well fed children need toys too.
You guys are awesome for that donation!! That makes me more than proud to be a low buck member
You and Buff and your crew are good people Dalton. The world needs more people like you.
Hey guys. Just wanted to sincerely thank you for the VERY generous purchase of the toys. It will make many kids happy, and that makes me happy. This, among many other reasons is why I really love this channel. And btw you are my son's favorite influences. It doesn't hurt that his name is also Dalton. Thanks for all you do and helping inspire my son to begin our father/son project. It's a fully caged 78 Grand Prix.
Thanks man! Sounds like a good project, make sure it's streetable though!
FANTASTIC - my 66 Rambler Rebel is the whole reason I started my channel. Love me some AMC's. 66 was the year that started the transition to the Rebel name, as AMC was working on the generation in this video. Fun video, love seeing what you do for the kids as well. Well done brother.
That Rebel surprised me! They got a good deal, and so did the kids at Children's Hospital!
Ya'll are good guys!
You guys are great. You have a real down to earth way Dalton. You have a great family, you’re a great Dad and you are doing great things. Keep up the good work. Wish you all the best for the coming year.
Thanks, you're too kind
Loved the Gone in 60 Seconds sunglasses on the dash. Toby Haliciki would approve.
I’ve been watching PBG since the beginning and after all the great episodes of “quality “ restorations and road trips I’ve decided the top of my bucket list is now to do a road trip exactly like this with Dalton. I’m to old for K2 and not crazy enough to tie a rope around my ankle and jump off a bridge, but I’m betting a restoration and road trip would be more adventurous and memorable than any of that.
Thanks for supporting kids while they go through some pretty terrible stuff. I have kids who rely on hospital services and the toys help them get their minds off of things, even for just a bit. Homerun on the car, and the gifts - Merry Christmas and Happy New year! 🎉🎉
It's the least we could do
I grew up with old AMC cars. Dad worked in maintenance at The Motors in Kenosha. The Motors is how we referenced American Motors.
That's what I did for GM, really sad that amc is gone
Got me choked up when you started shoving all the hotwheels in the cart. I almost lost my son at 7 wks old and he was in childrens hospital for a week and a half. Looking at him now 2 yrs later, you could never tell. Hes obsessed with anything on wheels, especially monster trucks. Hes our next generation of gearhead, and i love it.
The donation that you're making for children made the trip a worthwhile adventure.
JD is fricken awesome!!! You have taught that kid well!!! Love seeing him on the videos!!!
Oh hell just throw a self tap'r along side of that snapped off valve cover bolt😂
You guys are so awesome donating all those toys! Bless you guys! ♥And save some money for an ice pack for Birdsong! 👊
a few things.
"idiots!" at the cops had me dying
Burger King sponsership .. we're manifesting
joking to buff about cleaning the oil off the engine was perfect comedic timing "i know youre really proud of this.."
and on the Ken doll.. you are more than 'Kenough'
those old amc vehicles are pretty decent machines if they're not all butchered up and beat to hell..what a great idea donating all the proceeds to the childrens hospital..i'm sure you made alot of kids' day with your kindness..i spent 9 weeks in cardinal glennon in st louis when i was a tiny tot and they saved my life..i had 106 temp and nothing was working to bring it down..9 weeks with 9 shots a day and ice baths 2 to 3 times a day it what it took to finally get it to break..yeah they saved me
Spreading holiday cheer is what its all about! I used to run with a jeep club in Chicago that did a toy drive from Soldiers field up to the Army base on Fullerton every year. Miss doing it. The last year we represented it, we had over 500 4x4 vehicles. It was really great.
Sounds like a lot of fun
Dalton you guys are God sent for those children who will be receiving those toys.. just wish we could have a video or photo for every smile you’re able to help make❤️You’d fill every wall and then some in your shop. One of the best videos yet so far man! Badass Ford wagon btw…
I 100% agree with your assessment of Vegas at 1:03:35! I've been once for work and have no intention of going back.
Great way to end a video! Donating to the children's hospital was a cherry on top of a great vid! Thank you for all the content and just being a great person.
Man I love that car!!! Im 27 and ive got a 65 Rambler Classic 770 4 door. It's body is Taupe with a white top and has the same 232. Im so proud to have it, Its mostly original and being from Wisconsin with 2% original rust is rare. AMCs and Ramblers are so underrated, I'd be stoked to have that 4 door in my driveway here in Milwaukee!
This is why you are my favorite creators on here. I love your videos and your a great person your videos make me want to purchase a old car and get one running and driving and keep it alive, anyway your a amazing TH-camr your videos are amazing merry late Christmas
My grandpa used to call the gas station the "oil station". Seems an appropriate name for this Rambler.
Did Gramps drink a lot? 😆
Epic trip fellas! Thanks for taking us along!
What a great little hot rod, those guys got a killer deal for only $750. Awesome as well getting the toys for the kids! As far as the 1pm sobriety check...I have personally seen someone failing a roadside sobriety test at 8:30am...
Yeah, that's no joke brother.
I live right on the Missouri/ Arkansas border, the methican Americans can be spotted from 50 yards, by the poorly spray painted, rusty ford trucks, but some of the drunks blend surprisingly well.
Someone did (hence the pickup truck on the side of the road)
Ended up over 1k.
When you’ve got a Toque Command under the hood all things are possible. Back in my day you had to get the special de-coder ring out of the cereal box to be a Torque Commander but now they’re lettin anybody behind the wheel of em. It’s unchristian.
Once I saw homemade cookies I at once knew the motivation behind the entire trip. Not surprised the Rebel made the journey. Very reliable engines - trans leaks are very common. My favorite AMC was my 74 Gremlin with 3 speed stick. Great to see you give away the toys and share your blessings.
Good on you guys for sharing and caring, those gifts are gonna brighten some poorly kids days in hospital, great road trip, looking forward to part two.
Good man Dalton, good man. You made a big difference for a bunch of kids. Just when I thought I couldn't like this channel any more than I do, you pull this stunt hahaha
You guy hit a HOME RUN!!!!!! and yes it brought tears to my eye's... Awesome video, God Bless......
Dalton, You Sir have a heart of gold!! I'm So Very Proud of You & I forget his name!!! That's Awesome What Y'all Are Doing!!!
The 1968 AMC Rebel could be equipped with the Borg-Warner M11 or M12 automatic transmission, depending on the engine option. These transmissions were air-cooled in certain configurations, meaning they didn't require a traditional liquid transmission cooler that uses lines to the radiator.
Awesome video fellas!!! I am definitely disappointed in not getting to see you punch bird song in the noggin though!!! That was definitely very nice of you and buffs garage to give a bunch of gifts to the kids for sure!!! I definitely can’t wait to see the next weeks video of you and buff giving all the gifts to the kids and I definitely hope that you don’t let everyone down on the good old punch to that bird song guy!! I didn’t hear him giving any gifts to the kids like you guys did!!! Lol!!! Awesome video buddy and it was definitely nice to see you giving gifts to the kids for sure and they didn’t get left out for the holidays!!!!
Honestly, what a cool car and a fun trip with a friend. Thanks for bringing us along.
MERRY CHRISTMAS GUYS. GREAT THING YOUR DOING.
I went AMC Rambler crazy for a while. The 232 is an amazing engine and built like a Sherman Tank. Pulled one out of a quarry (on blocks, tarped up for years, bad brakes, bad carb, bad tires, bad everything)... in Vermont, worked on for 4 days then drove it to Oregon. Epic road trip way before youtube roadkill was even a thought. I could been a gazillionaire!
I put a 1000 CCA amp interstate battery In My 2003 park ave ultra and run 50/50 10/30 and 5/30 oil in It, it currently has 325K on original motor, rebuilt heavy duty transmission at 258K starts, runs, and drives great have had it for 6 years and love it, ❤ your channel and vids, we live north of yall in iowa,
Well done!
It's sad RoadKill, Engine Masters, Roadkill Garage etc... got canceled.
BUT... just like you said, it leaves a void you now can fill.
Keep them coming!!!!
It's way better than any roadkill car those tail lights would look awesome on a 67 or 8 Dart
Damn, Dalton and Buff. That was so much fun to watch, and the ending, with all the toys? Chef's kiss. You guys are awesome.
I missed my chance to prank you guys while in Amarillo I was gonna swing by the Big Texan and slap a JYD sticker on the Rebel but I chickend out. Great vid and love the toy donation. You guys rock!
Love to see some philanthropy from you guys. Those toys will surely brighten a deserving kids day. That’s worth its weight in gold.
Awesome roadkill inspired video! The AMC did pretty good for being as old as that thing is. Also, nice of you guys to do that for the children's hospital, they will love the toys. Look out Birdsong!
MERRY CHRISTMAS DALTON! AND CO.
Good move on the kids hospital donations guys. Proud of you!
I like that Rebel a buddy of mine had one when we were young around 80 or 81. If I had it, I would drive it as is. Love this channel! Good stuff man!
That ending was not what expected..RESPECT TO THE BOTH OF YOU!!!
Thats a good candidate for more upgrades. More content. Love to see you polish this one up or paint it. Maybe big block it or punch out a small block or something. Love the lines of this car.
What a great video!
The old AMC Rebel got 'er done!
That was so cool that you donated all of the toys to The Children's Hospital.
You guys definitely put some smiles on some kids faces who could really use a smile about now.
Well done!
Looking forward to the next one!
Wow, love your videos. I love the fact you have a big HEART.. you made many Children happy. God Bless you. and keep making videos..
Glad you posted this i am only 80 miles from Vegas but was in Tenn when you were there. Gosh Darn
Great job on getting all those toys for the kids. Wish JD was there to go with you to give them out. Stay safe out there.
That was amazing seeing you guys just throwing all the toys in the carts. Really touching Dalton.
😂...no no no, those are dangerous! Great job guys! I'm sure the kids will appreciate the generosity.
Very cool video! I love the body style of that AMC Rebel. Great car! 🍻
Keep up the great work!!! Cheers!!!
This was an impressive video for so many different reasons. Love you guys, Dalton and Buff. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the story.
I've stayed at that hotel in Vegas. Lol.. the remote is probably the cleanest part of the room. I recognized that white railing in your room. Small world! Love your channel!
You guys got this. I've made it from southwest Florida to Phoenix in 2 days. 2,200 miles. An that's losing a water pump on the west side of Tallahassee.
This was back in 2005. 😊
Sooooo awesome you got all those toys...kids are our future, and I'm sure you made quite a few feel loved! Bravo you two!
Oh, and the road trip was cool, too.
Blessings to y'all for a safe and healthy and fun 2025!
Hey Dalton, a good cheap trick to fix the no wipers issue is using furniture spray ( aka pledge ) or something along the same lines as it's oil based and works great as a water repellent. Just make sure to apply it to a mainly dry windshield and buff the windshield and watch the water bead up when it's raining. Found this trick worked in a pinch and way cheaper than rainex
I've heard that, I need to remember it
You guys were definitely good roadkill style. I like the route you took the places you stopped. You two together are pretty good. Can’t wait to see your next video. I’m still sporting my PBR style PBG shirt
I remember Roadkill doing things like this. Take a random vehicle, will it go from A to B. Then it ended up with the "Boost Caboose" and burnouts with the Dodge Hellcats or whatever. Glad to see this. I like this kind of stuff. It's an adventure.
We had a old 64 Rambler we used for 'The Bar' car. Wasn't fast. Was Ugly. Was 4 door 6cyl.
Did allow for dents and scratches well. Cheap to pull out of ditches. Good Ramblers always are.
We need more people like you , that was super nice of you to donate to the kids. So nice. Happy holidays my friend , love the videos ....
Good seeing you both at the sandwich shop auction. The carwash you went to in Henderson. Is the one I use there. Good self wash. Locally owned. Had a great time. Thank you both
Just starting the video... Love the quick cuts of all the cars. Plow Blazer shows up... "No." 😄
Great episode! I love the road trips!
Loved the toy shopping part too - something we've all wanted to do, and it's so generous of you!
Great video as usual my man. And its so awesome that you guys donated all those toys to a childrens hospital. That little Rebel sure was a trooper. Honestly not a bad looking car either
Absolutely mint guys! The car side of things is pure entertainment but the donation at the end shows the sort of people this world needs more of. Well done and all the luck for 2025 👍🏼
Top video. Well done on donating the Toys to a great cause. The Walmart trolley dash looked fun.
Perfect start to a dreary day. Thanks PBG!
Awesome video. So great that you are able to give back. I bet the kids lived that
13:46 🤣 Happy holidays to you and the family! Sweetie little Rebel! 💯👌
You absolute legend posting this on Boxing Day just when I needed some entertainment!
You guys are awesome. Thanks for doing a roadkill ish trip and giving to the kids at the holidays. Much respect.
Really good stuff. I like what you did at the end.
You guys took a 68 amc 1300 miles meanwhile I drive my 68 el Camino 3 miles to grab a beer and it pukes it’s guts out, drops an alternator, fries a starter or anything else you can think of to make me look like I’m a complete idiot at any given time, and I put nice parts on it every chance I get and that’s how it rewards me 😂😂😂! Awesome videos series guys definitely a good watch
I have cars like that. I think they're probably cursed
Hell yea, love my day after Christmas gift
Thanks again for the most beautiful Christmas present I have been given. Watching 2 of my favorite tubers giving gifts to the children of the hospital great job
