I worked at Disney headquarters in Burbank, CA as a cashier in their commissary. It was a slow time of the afternoon, and we chatted. He was so enthralled that I worked there. Even though I was making $14.50 per hour. He was asking all questions about how cool it must be to meet celebrities, and in my head I was thinking how he has been on SNL, and many movies, and here he is being so cool. Fred is 10/10 nice guy.
Damn, that really sounds like 10/10 nice guy! Thank you for sharing that story :)
@@lcephoenix He must have had some type of meeting with someone about something. People/agents/etc on the Disney lot have private offices even if they are completely unrelated to Disney. But his interest in my day to day it made me feel good, even though my duties were much like that of Target cashier. We talked probably 7-8 minutes.
@@bartsimpsonsimpson3367 that's genuinely really very cool!
So much details 😂 50cents
I LOVE this story! He seems like such a fantastic guy.
As someone who speaks Spanish and Portuguese, I have to say this guy has the linguistic science down.
Thank you Fred for being a lover of Spanish and respecting all these cultures enough to represent them so fully with care!!! You sir, should be in charge!
And the Brazilian Portuguese really caught me off guard. It's so good
One of his parents is hispanic
@@gracemaiam3374yep. Mom is Venezuelan and dad is German/Korean.
So real I can't tell you how pissed I get when I hear somebody who supposed be Colombian use a Mexican slang/terminology
I consider Fred one of the comedic geniuses of our time. Whatever I watch that he is in, I know it's going to be great. It goes beyond acting, it's just something about his whole persona.
Stop with the geniuses for everything. According to youtube comments, everyone who is liked by someone is a genius. What word are we supposed to use for actual geniuses.
@@wyskass861 what a genius comment!
@@alla7572 Literally
He's a great! On the Dana Carvey, Bill Hader, Mike Myers spectrum. Man's insanely talented
I LOVE the sing-songie characteristics of Mexican Spanish, but I had no words to describe my appreciation. Thank you for your phenomenal work Fred!
Fred Armisen is a true genius. I cannot think of anything creative he cannot do, in addition to being a gifted linguist. Wow.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤗🤗🤗💗💗💗💗💖💋💐
Some might even say he is a cunning linguist. You keep throwing them over, and I'll keep knocking them out of the park.
As a spanish speaking dude from Mexico, I must say I’m impressed. Leyenda!
LMFAOOOOO this guy is LITERALLY hilarious. Us Latinos will especially find this funny bc it is so true and accurate. Understanding the language makes it even funnier.
“Quiero ver a Morisseyyy” 💀
yeah, I was wondering because the only potential reference I had was the Mexican side of our awesome, integrated west coast family [very common here, as you & many others aware might know]..but it was our elders' & parents' generation who had more of the close relationships with that specific part of the fam..& in time, we were all scattered & far apart re: locations having to do with college/uni/careers/home locales & more marriages..but because of our family I was thinking:
no way Fred gets away with this fun interview sketch, in *THIS day & age. UNLESS* his own family background gives him that proverbial 'card to a certain kind of BBQ,' LoL!!🙋🏾♀
and as much as I've appreciated his amazing work over the many moons of time, I wasn't as aware of the *lion's share* of the catalogue of it, of what he'd been doing for so long, as much as some of my friends were..& not until I decided to look into it a few minutes ago [I knew nothing about his own family background] did I soon learn that he pretty much has a *lifetime-use* BBQ card.🙂👍
as what a surprise & delight, for a lot of it, to discover WHY so much of what little I *DID* know about him made sense! & now I adore him even more,🤗knowing about his own family line history. esp. re: his mom & dad + his paternal grandfather's experiences during his high school time in the 1920's!😯what an astonishing, storied and also tragic history that had to have led his recent ancestors to make some very key & life-changing decisions. I mean, there's well more than enough grist in it for a deep & introspective documentary and/or dramatic movie script!🎥🎬🎞 🤷🏾♀
@@DiandraStarShine this is profound.
not that accurate
@@DiandraStarShine I think that's pretty unfair that he has to have blood just to be able to appreciate all the world's languages. He's not appropriating others culture, so I think it's too much of cancel culture mindset to thoroughly search if he is entitled to his art and linguistic skills. As a wpoc, I am aware too that I have a lense on all artist, but I think too this culture of canceling someone because they don't have the "badge" ain't cool. No Latino on this video took it as insulting. Ijs, why can't an artist just be cultured and knowledgeable about his subject without going through a microscope? It's toxic and self victimizing. No white person took his impressions appropriation, and it's less stress on their part not worried about canceling, just enjoying the art.
I know, I was like.. MORRISSEY?!?!? HAHAHAHA!! 😂😂😂😂
He didn't quite nail the Chilean accent, but he did nail the psychology behind it. Chilean Spanish sounds like you've given up on being understood by other Spanish-speakers, but also like you've just plain given up, period.
Yeah that was the only one that was way off.
Me reí tanto escuchando el acento chileno porque justo así es como los escuchamos el resto de Latinoamérica.
To his credit, it’s probably really hard for a nonnative speaker to do the Chilean accent since it’s so unique
I think his impression is quite good though not 100% accurate, but he caught the nuances from that accent. In the clip they showed from the series I noticed a Chilean actor who usually played average Chilean middle class/working class characters with their particular languages. So I think Fred could have contact with that particular idiosincracy.
sounds like peruano xD
Those accents
he nailed
both in the performance and
in the psychoanalysis.
You don't know un carajo of what you're talking about!!
you write like Christopher Walken talks :)
Love that Jimmy is trying new laughs. 👌🏼
Sadly all still over execrated and fake. How this guy has a show is beyond me. He's not funny, can't do bits and can't stay on point even when cue cards are right in front of him. If I was running the tonight show he wouldn't have even been in the running for the job.
Each more insincere than the last
Alright everyone relax Jimmy’s alright. We’re just having fun here.
@@DashDonivan well said . . .
Because no moment of the show isn't all about him.
Fred's face just makes me smile.
This guy is a comedy legend. He played a wide variety of characters on SNL. From Bin laden to other middle eastern politicians to queen Elizabeth to Obama to a pet cat! And so many others. This guy is unbelievable
And don't forget the amazing Prince he does.
One of my favorite is the prince impression!
Agree - OMG him as Prince on SNL
So hillarious!!
And those yrs of snl really sucked
I'm currently binge watching Armisen & Hader's "Documentary Now"! Pure gold.
Grew up speaking Spanish. He's very close to all the accents. Impressed.
As a native Spanish speaker, he nailed every single one of those
Facts!
I'm going to send this to my friend from Chile and see what she thinks :D
Colombian could've been better to be honest... And the Chilean missed some entonation 🙂
And your name is Brandon?
Nobody cares what you know.
Good God this man had me in stitches with his magic trick bit 😂 protect him at all costs!
Happy Hispanic Heritage month in September!!! Fred Armisen does speaking Spanish Accent ever!!!
As a native portuguese (from Brazil) speaker, I could totally relate to his impression 😅 also, we got lots of different accents throughout the country. It would be funny if he learned some of them :)
As usual, Fred nailed the accents!!
He's so cool and his accents are on point!
Fred Armisen truly is a world treasure
Fred is a master at delivery in whatever his genius brain instantaneously creates!
He is so bloody talented
Dude ! I love you ! I knew I had to stop by and watch this . Im from Argentina , u just sounded like us ... and here we have ppl from all South America , and I can tell u , they are just like u did ..... Amazing !!!
Such a humble genius
Fred. Genius!! We love him!! As a Hispanic, his accents are right on point. LOL! Loved him back in the SNL days when he would say ay Dios mío! 😂😂 God bless him!
This guy would be great on a show where he plays multiple characters.
You might enjoy Portlandia, then, where he did just that
@@SpaceCowFour I was being sarcastic 🙃 I love Portlandia.
Yeah like SNL! 😅
@@BronzDano Man… you can definitely tell I made my initial comment at 4am, because an obvious thing like SNL didn't even cross my tired mind 😂
@@SpaceCowFour lol, No worries. Fred Armisen actually had a long tenure on SNL as well as Portlandia. I thought that was the joke 🥴
So talented actor!!! I Will watch los spookies just for him!!
This comment is so funny. It’s the absence of the extra E 😭😭
This is GOLD!! He nailed those accents!!!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
very interesting about accents. He always plays it so deadpan but is also versatile in the work he does
Uncle Fester speaking spanish! Me encanta! 👏🏻😂
Im not even Spanish but I died out laughing at all his impressions
My mom was born in LA but grew up in Miami and she can do almost all of these accents as well lmao and we are Mexican.
Fred is an SNL Legend.
This show is true magic! Completely recommend!
don’t cut him off, let him do all the countries
I can go into middle-agedness feeling satisfied that the world finally caught up to Fred Armisen's genius. I remember feeling weird that many didn't seem to get him while he was on the cast, despite him being seemingly indispensable.
he nailed the accents 🤣🤣
The Chilean accent had me bursting. He's a genius at this.
he didn't do it right.
I'm Chilean and he did terrible, we never spoke like that
F--king LOVE Fred Armisen. He can do no wrong in my book. 🙂
Cannot stand oily phoney fallan but love Fred. So worth it
So much talent in one guy.. I remember from when he used to do Felicito on SNL. I thought then that he was going to be one of the greats!
Not just funny,Fred is educational.
Every time he came to the show, I learned something new!
Fred's mother is Venezuelan and Fred himself speaks perfect Spanish with a Venezuelan accent. He was dead on the spot for all accents except the Colombian one with is characterised by the "S" sound. They insist in pronuncing every single "S" when for us Caribeans the last "S" in a word just does not exist. In the case of us Vewnezuelans the last "S" becomes a "J" like: carroj, vegetalej.
as a chilean that has a lot of argentinian friends i disagree. the chilean accent was only right in that it "breaks" but it sounded waaaay of and his argentinian was even worse. the others except the colombian were fine.
Saying he speaks perfect Spanish is a bit of a stretch. He is really good though.
Californians, that’s all I can think of whenever I see Fred Armisen
Devin?
@@knuman eererwwaewwawhatreyoudooeeneer?
It's gonna be jammed.😂😂
@@StefaniaOlla it's too good 🤣
The Venezuelan accent at 4:44 was so good it actually made Jimmy REAL laugh and not the fake laugh he usually does, im dying lmaooo😂
He's half Venezuelan
@@susana01992 Yes, he is. His mom is Venezuelan. That's why he's spot on it!
@@mjsu I know! 🤦♀️
Who remembers him as the Latino restaurant owner in the unrated version of Anchorman: "Eat the Cat poo!" For the way you talk about my city! A big steak for him please" lol 😂
He is ao precious I love Fred so much
He was so accurate with the accents lol
Spot on!
👏 bravo to all the acentos 💕
Love him
Lo tkm!!! Un genio, besotes desde argentina !!
I love Fred in every accent that exist!!
As someone who learned Colombian Spanish and always got told, "tranquilo gringo," this feels very right.
Bwahahahahaha!!! Omg when he said Morissey for Mexican Spanish I was sold on his accuracy and started paying attention 🤣
That was super sneaky but so damn spot on lol
Love Fred Armisen!
His Spanish accents are bang on
I love watching someone who's honed their craft to the point where I dont even see the dollar
Fred is incredible
OMG the Venezuelan accent...spot on!
Spot on
Whoo! Los Espookys is back. I need something to watch.
Omg freeeedddd! I have never loved a guest more! El es un genio!
This is amazing! He really gets the accents.
Nailed it!!!
My favorite of him in SNL is the Californians, so funny omg lol
That one-ninth is such a great joke in itself. I'm sure it flies over most people's heads how simple and clever it is. And he just moves on, no one explains it, even Jimmy keeps cracking up.
Genius
💚🔥
Si quieres hablar como chileno lo primero que tienes que aprender es la frase "somos el mejor país de Chile" ya con eso pueden postular a tener nacionalidad chilena.
Wow he is truly amazing
love fred, so talented and original.
Love Fred Armisen
Just love this guy!
I love Fred and feel he would be a great friend because he is always so relatable and funny. 🥹😂🤣🥲
Mexican and Cuban accents were on point!!! Not so much the Chilean and Argentinean, though
We asked our Chilean neighbor and he said Armisen got the northern Chilean accent down. Guess they have regional accents as American and Canadians do, eh?
Chilean was very good, it reminds me of friends of mine but of course is exagerated,It is a difficult one. The colombian and argentinian not so much i would say, but I think he knows and he still does it and makes it even funnier!!
OMG!!!! Fred is hilarious 😅😅😅😅
Ok.. ok... those Spanish accents were eff-ing ON POINT!! 😂😂😂
He was awesome in Parks and Rec
Brilliant!
his accents are always solid gold
Love this so much
Los Espookys is such an amazing show
Spot on!!!!!!
dude Fred is amazing
As a human I can say Fred is one of the most wholesome people ever.
Fred Armisen is a genius.
Es muy bueno 😊😅🇦🇷
Fred is honestly a master linguist
As a cuban that shit was on point 😂😂😂 🇨🇺
Spanish speaker here, that was FUNNY!
This was hilarious, I got watch that show now Los Espukis!
Those accents are on point!
is it me or does this Fred Arnisen look like Tom Hanks swallowed a bee and is having a allergic reaction 🤣🤣🤣
One of my top 5 inspirations
my favorite comedian/actor/musician/person.
Gracias!!!
Man I love this man
Spot on the accents!!!
Fred Armisen is just on another comedy wavelength.
