  • Being a fitness coach, Rob (also a graduate from our Insomnia Immunity program) had always taken his health seriously. When his group of friends bought sleep trackers and competed to see who slept best, what was to become a 15 month long struggle began.
    In this episode, Rob shares the paradoxical journey that led him back to where he used to be. A place where he just watches some TV, falls asleep, and wakes up refreshed the next morning.

    Daniel, thank you so much for having me on your channel. I am so appreciative of your continued education and guidance, and the wonderful community you’ve created. It’s honestly like no other.
    For those going through it, just know that it’s going to get better! What helped me the most was continuing to educate (or remind) my brain of the teachings, being kind to myself when I got off track and “allowing things to sort themselves out” (or allowing the process to occur at its own pace - with the ups and downs).
    You are all rockstars!

      I love this comment, Rob. I've been experiencing off-and-on insomnia for 18 months or so. It's gotten better, but I still have regular rebound insomnia--nights of next-to-no sleep (except the eventual surrender sleep around 3-4AM). Right now, I'm on Prednisone for some contact dermatitis (poison ivy), and that's set me back a few nights. But I'm constantly reminding myself that sleep happens, and rough nights come and go. Just need to embrace whatever happens.

    Rob saying he still did what he needed to do even if he slept for 1-2 hours was powerful. I am currently experience the worst insomnia of my life but that line hit hard. Sometimes we just gotta wear the discomfort and bring it along for the ride. I've had insomnia for half my life on and off but learning not to structure your life around it helps.

    I cannot tell you how thankful I am for this channel and for you Daniel. I'm on my 6th day of no sleep and these stories of people's real journeys are so incredibly comforting. When I am able to get out of this pit it is my goal to be interviewed here on your channel!!

      @@TWRehab on friday i was able to crash for a few hours, probabky about 5 hours. Wasnt the best sleep of my life but it was better than nothing. i keep panicking when trying to fall asleep :/

      @@GaryFountainHills my insomnia lasted almost a year. i went many nights with no sleep at all and most nights with just between 2-4 hours if i was lucky

    After reading Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker I’ve been really health conscious with my sleep that instead of helping me to get out of the cycle it made me even more conscious and anxious about my sleep than I need to be😩

    Hi Daniel, thank you for creating these videos! I have been struggling with insomnia for 10 years and have been on sleep medication for most of these time. I'm currently trying to wean off the medication while working through the CBT-I regime. I'm wondering if you have any success stories for insomnia sufferers who have been on sleep medication for many years? I need a little hope now as I'm finding the sleep restriction very rough. Thank you!

    Hi Coach Daniel, I’ve been having Insomnia for about 1.5 weeks, it’s starting to affect my personal and work life. I cant seem to sleep at all at night and take the day off work to sleep during the day. Should I continue to go to work even if I have a complete night of 0 sleep, I would find it extremely hard as I work in construction in AZ heat?

    Quick ? Any advice if you pretty much Beat Insomnia and started sleeping well for like 5 Months with some small set backs here and there but then all of a Sudden you have 2 or 3 nights of ad Sleep, even though you know already what causes insomnia? Just Don’t want to go through the Fear All Over again and go back to where I was😩

    Hello, I am in desperate need of help with insomnia. Mine is chronic. No sleep at all. But it started slowly getting worse for me and then when I got anxiety and panic attacks I totally no sleep.
