I just finished my Front Facing Camera. There is actually 2 ways for a 12 volt connection. The red wire at 14:40 can go to the 2 green wires on the switch. No need to run a wire to the fuse box.. The other end will go to the camera wires and just ground the black wire. Done Yes I was thoroughly confused. Thanks again Rob for everything you do.. :)
A few years ago, I added 4 cameras to my '14 Tundra. One in the grill, one on the rear axle looking forward and one in front of each front wheel for picking a line when off-road. The Pyle system that I used has a separate 11" monitor. I still have not found a good mounting solution for the monitor
Joe R If I ‘m not mistaken, I believe that connector is there for a Toyota Glass Breakage sensor that snaps in that blank spot and works with the security system. Been trying to gather info to see if it’s simple plug and play or does it require a specific Toyota security system.
@@edwardllorens You are correct. It is for the glass break sensor on the factory alarm. Unfortunately, other components are needed to complete the system.
I hate to beat a dead horse, but I found some features for the front camera harness that I decided to go with. I can choose a timer duration 5 sec. 10 sec. 15 sec. 20 sec. or always on. There is also a feature for when traveling at slow speed under 5 mph, the front camera turns on. REALLY cool features with this kit! If anyone is interested the kit is by BEAT SONIC. I think it was well worth the extra $45 bucks over the ANYTIMEBACKUPCAMERA kit... cheers!
Just finished my install of the anytime rear and front camera on the Tacoma. No issues...I followed your video of the Tacoma install exactly (even using the EFI4 fuse location instead of EFI1) It works great! Took me about 5 hours total but a lot of that time was getting the camera mounted on my front grill. I have the original Toyota grill for a Tacoma double cab sport with the oval Toyota logo in the mddle (I know its ugly and I will change it one of these days!). Anyway, I had to do some dremelling to get the camera to fit in the grill in the center....was a pain to get in but I took my time and did it right (I removed the grill to work on it...much easier that way!). Long story short, camera works and this mod is sweet!. Thanks for showing us the way Rob!
I might have to get this. As of now, I back into the driveway and most parking spaces because I can use the camera to know for sure how far I am from everything.

RobMotive Gotcha! I sent you a link to a video that helped me get those panels off around the hauling functions... it’s a sweet spot, if you know what I mean! I also went thru the passenger firewall. So much real estate going that route. One more thing, you know you can power the front cam by taping into the radio’s ACC power right? No need to add a fuse! Much cleaner setup!

Hi Rob, The wire that you find and said you don’t know what it’s for. It’s for GBS sensor. Gbs is for Toyota vip security system (Glass brake sensor). I have Oder it form Toyota for my truck.

Hey Rob, I have a tundra crewmax 2019 and the camera you installed from anytime back up just got more in stock finally it's been at least 5 month . But my question to you is so what is a update review on the camera, is it still working and does the DIY install void any warranties? This is on my father's Day list. Thanks and I enjoy all the vids.
Hey Eric. The camera system still works just like the day I installed it. If it can be proven that a mod you installed directly caused the failure of a warranted part, then that warranted part would not be covered.
The camera came with the kit for this install. The cost of the kit was $149.99. However, when I added it to the Tacoma I bought a different camera that was $39.99. It is basically the same camera that comes with the kit.
Hey Rob, I don't want to be a bother, but I sure would like your advice on a fog light issue. I'm wanting to install fog lights on my 2019 SR Tacoma. The entire kit is available in either halogen or LED versions. The most expensive of the two are the LED's which cost $77.00 plus tax. The LED also turn themselves off when the high beams are turned on and the fog lights turn on when the headlights are turned to low. Granted, I don't do a lot of night or bad weather driving, I just want them "in case". Which do you feel would work the best and would be the best investment for my truck. Also, if I get these installed would they void my warranty? If so, I could buy now and then have them installed after the warranty runs out. Again, thank you so much. You are such a wealth of Tacoma knowledge. Heck, seems you are much smarter than I at anything automotive! :)
I’d go LED. Sounds like they work just like the OEM version. Regarding warranty, no if you have a dealership do them. If not, warranty would only be voided if the installed parts directly cause failure of a warranted part.
@@RobMotive LED will be what I purchase! I did not know a Toyota Dealership would install an after market part. I guess it depends on the dealership. Again, thank you for this recommendation.
