Brooke is becoming very knowledgeable and skilled with horses, and it’s lovely to see him develop into a really calm and gentle horseman. You are very lucky to have him.❤❤❤🙌🏻
I watched Horse Plus today and back in time to when Pony Tales didn't have a proper barn. I started watching at the time Horse Plus granted you winner and $10,000 check. Time flies and you guys have come a really long way since then, congrats to you all and the many donors who help
Just wanted to say how great Brook (I think that's his name) is with all the horses! He's calm, patient, understanding, and quick to identify and deal with any issues.
Brook does so well with the horses! So, do you put those horse teeth under their "pillow" for the toothfairy? 😆 What a surprise that the one horse lies down to go to sleep and the next horse figures out, ok, fine, she laid down, I'm sittin' and going on strike against dental work, even if it is for my own good! Love Dr. Kristen. You all are awesome at how much you care for each of these horses. Even as you were working on the paint, in the background, someone was still attending to the sleeping mare. You guys rock in my book!
All participants in this video have my respect! How you can work in that low of a temperature is amazing. Bare hands for her to do teeth, her hands must be frozen cold! True warriors for these horses you all are. Bless you
I like watching Brooke train! OMG LOOK AT THAT TAIL!! it’s going to take a month of Sundays to get that stuff out. Nice job doc floating all those teeth and a great video! Thank you
Ps... Do "pressure and release" for the pony who's afraid of the saddle. Take the saddle "of and on" on both sides before you're trying to tighten the.... ?? Oh... she's getting "blind"!? Well... that changes things. Poor baby 😢 Good job, guys 😃 Well done ❤ (Sorry for me putting my nose in...lol) I MISS HORSES!!!❤❤❤
Nice to se Dr Kristin and Dr Dave today. Bobby will be much better soon. I did get scared when they just fall down in stock. But you were so calm. And Brook... Brook is a horsewhisperer of class.
Just want to wish everyone at PT ( including vets and my favorite farrier Pauly) a very Merry Christmas 🤶 🎅 and the Happiest of New Years 🎉Love and God Bless you all 💜 ✝️ Jennifer
Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to all of you including vets, farrier, volunteers, subscribers ,donators and especially the family and employees who give back to the world everyday by rescuing and saving lives every day. Thank you. All of you are truly an inspiration.
As always another good video. I just love that big Black boy, his nose is so cute. that horse put a whole new meaning to long in the tooth, wow! Brook is so awesome and keeps a calm voice at all times. God bless you doing all this hard work and it is getting colder everyday. Bobbie is just so stinking cute.
Wow talk about “long in the tooth” Cara the Arabian takes the saying to another level, and it’s good to see that little Bobby has had his hernia repaired, another fantastic video guys, stay warm, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
What a busy team you all are all the care training and love you put into these horse is beyond commendable. I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Australia looking forward to catching up in 2025!! 🎄🎄🎄🇦🇺🇦🇺
If I would have lived my life different I would have gotten into Equine Medicine! At 74 I’m learning from having horses for over 50 years and live watching your vets and Paulie videos!☺️
Me too! I had to drop off Vet School after only two terms, so it feels like going back. 😘 I've "only" got about 40 years of Horse training so you "beat me". 😂
When cassie slowly laid down and then dr kristen was looking at her face, cassey opened her eye, seen doc then wuickly shut her eye like " dang almost busted!" I lost it 😂😂😂. Kudos to brooke too with working with lou. Shes starting to come along and trust nicely for their little work time it seems after losing her sight. Takes time but patience is key.
@JessieSadiku the horse is most certainly named that, might be spelt a different way but 🤷♀️🤣 Oh and it's ma'am 😂 I certainly don't have dangly things between my legs 😉
Videos done by Steve Young Horsemanship are free to watch and I think useful information to add to each trainers own bag of tricks, so to speak. Things like stopping unrequested forward motion and respecting the rider’s personal space for safety. Just another perspective from someone who’s been training for 25 plus years. Best yet is it’s free to watch. Hope it proves useful as a resource. I admire what you do and your tenacity. Hope everyone gets to stay healthy this winter, especially for the holidays.
Do you guys know about fitting a saddle to the horse? I learned about that watching other trainers in their videos and didn’t know that was a real important step. So much I’m learning watching rescues and horse trainers. I can’t believe how tough you are continuing on when the weather is so brutal. My hat’s off to you brave, tough, and caring people.
Thank you for showing us HOW you moved her. That's a very easy yet effective and nonvasive way to move the horse. (I must confess...I didn't like the "head-pulling...😲 sorry...❤) So... the Vet will bring her "reversal" next time, I'm sure. 😋 We all learn every day. 😘 This is the third video in this "series", I've watched today: New Years Day. Looooove to you all ! ❤❤❤
I used to use a pony saddle on my saddle horse/Welsh and on my quarter horse. I'd let the stirrups all the way out and ride like a jockey. ❤❤😢😢 I miss them so much. 😊
I know cats and dogs have hearing very acute. They can hear the transmission and currents running thru your walls before it actually produces the result we request. Such as flipping a light switch. They can track the currant. I think hearing is of great important trait for horses safety. I would wonder about the mike on their rider could be bothersome.
OMG (Commenting as watching) - Brooke - you look like a little kid up there on that Belgian! lol I had a friend who is 6ft 8 start my stallion under saddle at 5 1/2 yrs old (I'd done some ground work and he was rugged, floated/trailered, shown in hand, so he knew all that stuff along with worming, grooming, hooves, dentistry etc clearly that you get done with them as a normal part of growing up - and getting to shows to do his breed showing was an 8 to 13 hour drive each way a few times a year which was a weekend job or down one evening, show the next day and back that night due to work commitments (Australians are freakin weird I tell ya)... Anyhow - he was on my boy who is a smidge under 16hh - and made him look like a riding pony - so you on the big one and him on y not as big one would look hillarious together. Loving the burrs in Chesters tail - that will be fun to remove without leaving one or two strands of hair. lol Nawwww cheap drunk down..... just crawl out onto the other bit of rubber flooring girly and snooze so they can keep working hun Great way of moving her Brooke. Done that move before - with a 17.3hh Cleveland Bay x Holsteiner Stallion who had 1/4 of the standard dose for light sedation for his size and it got him soooooooo drunk. LOL Clevelands are VERY cheap drunks no matter the sex, age, their stage of stress levels etc - they get a tiny bit of sedation for teeth, clipping or feet or whatever and if the person giving it does not listen to the owner or read the notes on the horse, or know the horse or the breed - they can lay them out for ages unintentionally. LOL Ol blue eyes didnt want teefers messed with at all huh? Interesting double tooth in the bottom front there... kinda cool but weird. LuLu - YAY good girl for having the girth done up and having Brooke put a little pressure on that saddle. Do you guys have one of those super lightweight changeable gullet fender saddles? The cross between a Western Saddle and an Aussie Stock Saddle? Puts you in a more English type seat so ear, shoulder, hip, heel align and elbow, wrist and mouth one the horse understands and is working from behind a little better... They have the top shoulders of the western saddle, the skirt and seat shape to it but the stirrups are set a touch back so your legs are under you more, and to be a true version of what Im thinking of, and now Im wondering if its the one called the fender or the crossbreed?? the stirrup bars are open and stirrup straps can come off if you fall to prevent dragging. You can also swap the western style stirrups and leathers out for English ones if you want to get used to riding in those and still want the security of t he seat for a bit longer before doing the full switch. No horn on the front I dont think but you can have it as an option on some. Anyhow I only mentioned them as they are super light weight and probably lighter than that kids saddle. I had a little synthetic version of that kids saddle for my mini mare for the occasional pony ride that she got by kids - and even being 'alternately-abled' as I put it, I could pick it up with just one hand and saddle her up from my 4wd power wheelchair (love my beast) and then could lead her easily if needed. Me and one of my support workers used to just chuck a halter on her and I'd lead her up the road for a 'lets get out of the property day' on occasion.
You could get a synthetic saddle for training. They don't weigh hardly anything. I can't believe Lulu is still with you, but that's okay because it buys me time to see if I can get where I need to be to adopt her.❤
I just googled and wow: Why horses teeth don't hurt when they are filed? Because they don't have lot of surface nerves like human teeth and they also grow unlike human teeth.
I think the draft was used to weight on her back and being able to see the person on the ground, but was unsure about the person being on her back. So, maybe she was a cart or pack horse before? Was she Amish draft before maybe? Some drafts get some saddle time since the kids like riding any their horses when they aren't doing work. And yes, Amish kids will ride younger horses as long as the horse is big enough. I've seen some of the horses ridden as young as a year and a half, all because the horse was big enough to ride.
knew a guy that trained his horses from birth he would put halter on the moment it was dry right after birth after the umbilical fell off he would have a small saddle pad like the bareback pad with no stirrups he used lead rope but let the baby move next to mom no pulling or leading just natural no interference following mama he would pick up hooves act like he is shoeing them like sound and movement and around the 6 month age he put the small bareback saddle pad with stirrups and started training it by walking behind going left right back and beside mama do the round pen to learn the walk trot gallop canter stop signals he than at age 1 he put a leather saddle like the one a toy horse just a flat piece of leather shaped like saddle so verry light and the bridle gets a bit made out of a carrot carved like bit at year half he freezes the carrot well all in all by the time the baby was old enough to ride he can get on and ride no problem also from birth he makes sure to expose baby to anything and everything he tests them to see how they react to know were to place baby but out of all only one failed but he had full high school marching band go around them fire crackers fireworks the movie prop guns doing full shootout also big Harley Davidsons circling they would twitch and look but nothing else
You have some great young trainers. I thought they might enjoy the huge library of videos of Steve Young Horsemanship YT channel. This guy is a Welsh trainer and has a very consistent approach, especially to frightened horses. I know your trainers have to deal with that all the time. I have no connection to this trainer whatsoever. I watch and enjoy your videos, and I just see situations where I know how this trainer would handle it. He deals with unhandled terrified horses, horses who won't stand still for the farrier, problem horses, horses who won't trailer, etc. Suggestion offered for your interest only -- no criticism of your wonderful staff intended.
Two horses in the same video NOPED right out. haha Lurch with the terrible ground manners is actually trained to ride?!! WHO KNEW?! That was a shocker. HOW do you manage to train a horse so well under saddle, but don't bother to teach them to respect a handler on the ground? Amazing. It's so bass-ackwards. Welp, Teach that boy some respect for human space and to give to pressure on the halter, and you'll have a great adoption prospect. 🙃
Love that the Dr. warms the water and the metal on a cold day for the horses’ dentals, shows extra caring!

Dr Kristen is such a great vet. Love watching her work. Brooke is doing so well with Lulu.
It's a pleasure to see Brook handle the horses
I just love Dr Kristen! She's so gentle and soft voiced and she really talks to the horses. She's a sweetheart. She has a great sense of humor.
It’s good to see more of Brook; showing more knowledge and skills. Go Brook!
I love Cindy's face when she got handed the tooth... like "Thanks a lot... ewww", LOL
Both vets are phenomenal. Each has their own style but you can tell they both love animals ❤😊
Just wanted to say how great Brook (I think that's his name) is with all the horses! He's calm, patient, understanding, and quick to identify and deal with any issues.

Got 2 say Brooke know her stuff
The vet's are amazing

Not the most inviting time of year to work outside with horses who have minimal or no experience. That ground will be HARD!! Kudos to Brook.

Maybe you should try some voice commands with that big girl. A lot of the farmers would say walk on, Trot Etc maybe she knows a little voice command
Thank you for showing the little blind tobiano pony's Training. I was celebrating with you as she settled. ❤

Ive never seen a hoarse with teeth that long!! Wow! Poor thing.
❤
TBF, I dont think that Mare was ever ridden before and was just confused . She's going to make a lovely riding horse.
I agree, first time she's had anyone on her back. She's obviously willing to learn.
I have seen this done a foal before. They heal up fairly quickly. Good luck, little man! ❤
Thanks for sharing! My heart is restored by all you helping these horses in need. 💕
Thank you for your patience the extraordinary vet care merry Christmas 🎄❤
Oh goodness, that burr filled tail. How do you tackle that? What a mess
Chester is a unicorn! Poor gye. His tail looks better😊!!! Im glad to see how Cassie got up!! Perhaps luo llue was a bucking horse before .

Is no wonder why some horses are unhappy. Their teeth can be a real source of discomfort.
Black standardbred looks like he has loss of hip muscles in right hind ...and slight slope at the topof the hip \

When did poor bobby get a hernia?? has he always had this?
Silly question but do the docked tails ever grow to full length?
A docked tail means it is partially amputated.
The hair on the remaining part will grow normally.
Cassy is a cheap shout 😂
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Maybe don’t use a bit!!
Why aren’t you wearing a hat???
I'd be hesitant using the "clicking" to move forward. She's jumping and nervous because it sounds like a whip to her.
