Unfortunately, there will never be a director's or extended cut of this film or of Jurassic Park due to a fire at Universal Studios that destroyed the uncut footage.
that's not the reason why there will never be a director's or extended cut since we don't know precisely what was destroyed in the Universal archives. The reason we never will are two-fold. Spielberg doesn't think highly of this picture (even fighting depression over it during production because he found it shallow). But more importantly Spielberg himself feels that the theatrical cut is his director's cut. He particularly despises deleted scenes which is why most of his films don't have them...(only included the two for TLW because they were in the TV screenings). The reason for his hatred? He was roasted heavily by fans for fiddling with Close Encounters and ET and vowed to never do it again. While Spielberg lives and breathes we won't get any scenes for JP or TLW and TLW is not popular enough to warrant a future release with them.
Funny thing is the guy with the devil hors actually plays Satan in Constantine. He's actually in a ton of movies, but that's where I first really noticed him.
Looking forward to your next reaction in the "Jurassic Park"/"Jurassic World" series with this movie. 😊 For me personally, the very first one is the best overall. But this is still a really good movie. Love the return of Jeff Goldblum as Dr. Ian Malcolm. And the kids from the first movie, Lex and Timmy, make brief return in the beginning. Up next in the series: "Jurassic Park 3". Looking forward to your next reaction. 😊
For me, the only film I'm not a fan of is the third Park movie. Personally, I have zero issue with Jurassic World, because I never expected it to be as good as Jurassic Park. It's a fun dinosaur movie series, don't take it too seriously and you'll have plenty of fun watching it.
I find it funny that there are several moments and elements in this movie that weren't in the Lost World book, but they were in the Jurassic Park book and they were left out of that movie only to be put in this one. Hell even the character of Roland Tembow (the lead game hunter guy) was completely invented for this movie almost to make up for how dirty they did Muldoon in the previous movie, because book Muldoon was an absolute badass. Also I love the whole freeze frame to put devil horns on Peter Stormare's character... someone have this girl watch Constantine.
Really Nick was the biggest problem in the movie. He brought the baby T-Rex back which made them come and attack the trailer, he let all the animals loose which made them lose all their equipment to be able to call out and then he also took the bullets from Roland's gun which rather than rolling killing the T-Rex, he just put it to sleep which ended up allowing engine to bring it and the baby to San Diego. So in actuality the biggest villain in this movie IS Nick.😂 He's the mastermind that put everything in motion to damn near get everybody killed. Lol
There was a cut scene with the baby rex. Roland (hunter) was going to just tie up the baby, but Ludlow, (the nephew) came to talk while drunk and tripped on the baby and broke its leg. Roland was furious about it
prawns and shrimp belong to the same family as lobsters and Shrimp have one pair of legs that include claws at the end, but prawns have three pairs with claws. Prawns also tend to have legs that are a bit longer in relation to the size of the body than shrimp of similar size.
It's funny that you had your editor draw devil horns and stache on that particular guy, seeing as he plays one of the best portrayals of the devil I've seen in film. Love the reaction, hopping over to #3 to give it a look now!
While this film isn’t my favorite and it doesn’t top the original film, I still enjoy the film thanks to Jeff Goldblum’s performance as Ian Malcolm, the visual effects and seeing more familiar and new dinosaurs. Funny thing is I saw bits and pieces of the movie when I was a kid but the only parts I remember were the little Girl being surrounded by the Compies and Ian and Sarah operating on the baby T-Rex before the parents arrive and Ian rescue Sarah and the Baby T.Rex when the truck was falling. Lastly I always wondered what happened to Dr. Sarah Harding and Ian’s daughter, Kelly Curtis following this film since they never appeared nor were they mentioned in the Jurassic World movies. Looking forward to your reaction to the third film and the _Jurassic World_ films.
@@CMONCMON007 Personally I liked Dominion, but in all honesty Lost World was better than Fallen Kingdom which the latter film felt like a Carbon Copy Inverse of the former film.
I'm guessing it's the caffeine maybe making her unfocused, but Angelina missed a lot of stuff in this reaction. The movie immediately makes it clear that Isla Sorna is a different island from Isla Nublar, she missed that. Hammond explains that Malcom's team is supposed to go to the island to document the dinosaurs so he can establish a nature preserve and make it inaccessible to the public... she missed that and thinks they're there to sabotage Ludlow's crew. Ludlow explicitly mentions that the female rex is still roaming free on the island, meaning that the one they caught is the male, and she missed that. I'm a big fan, but this was a rough one.
I think this movie is very underrated, Steven’s direction and John’s music go hand in hand and it’s also very different from the first. I think having that jungle safari theme in the movie reflects what happens in real life with animal poaching. Malcolm is different from the first movie, he’s not a snarky, charming and charismatic, he’s the polar opposite of that. He’s serious and he looks like he hasn’t slept in a long time. I think this movie is a perfect character arc for Malcom, as he is put back in this world that almost killed him and now threatens his daughter and girlfriend. This movie deserves more praise and I think this is goldblums best work aside from the fly.
Sarah being one of the top people in her field of studying animals family behavior is funny, because she forgets (more than once) one of the most important rules. DON'T TOUCH THE BABY!
I loved Watching TLW as a kid during the Late 90s/early 2000s. Probably saw it More than Jp, which i saw twice at the time i believe. Love them Both! 😃🦕🦖
Michael Criton is an amazing writer. 13 of his movies have become films. In the book, the little girl in the beginning, she survived but was in critical condition. My favorite book from him is Sphere. Timeline was also an excellent book.
I'm sorry, but if a Tyrannosaurus rex (or any predator) stuck its head in my tent while I'm asleep, I'd be pissing/shitting myself. Also, the little green dinosaur is a carnivorous species called Procompsognathus.
Yes. The Lost World is another book from Michael Crichton. But that is also the title of an Arthur Conan Doyle's book from 1912, that was an inspiration for Michael Crichton's book. There is a silent movie adaptation of Arthur Conan Doyle's book : The Lost World 1925. It is known as a classic of the beginnings of stop motion to show gigantic creatures on screen.
Angie not sure if you noticed, but there are actually 2 separate islands with Dinosaurs. Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna. Isla Nublar (Site A) was the island from the first film. It was the island that had the actual park. Isla Sorna (Site B) was the factory floor. That’s where they did most of the engineering and creations of the dinosaurs, and then transport them to Nublar to be placed within the park. But after a huge storm was heading for Sorna InGen (the company that created the dinosaurs and funded the whole Park) set the dinosaurs free. They then abandoned the factory and were organizing to try and take the surviving dinosaurs to the mainland and into that amphitheater in San Diego.
24:56 The t rex that loose into san diego this scene is actually male t rex. He's daddy one called "Buck" as his nickname. The colors of a male t rex is green and female t rex is brown as standard.
I love that "Now, you're John Hammond" line. It's very fitting, because it becomes clear throughout the movie that Glasses wants to be his uncle so bad. He wants the fame, the respect. He wants to be recognized. That's why he does stupid things like bring a T-Rex to the mainland. And now, even if he wasn't eaten by the T-Rex's at the end, his carreer and his life would have been over anyway. He brought a T-Rex to the mainland. All the devestation was his fault. Just like the events of the last movie were his uncle's. "Now, you're John Hammond."
ANGELINA since You love Steven Spielberg so much I recommend reacting to _AI: Artificial Intelligence, War of the Worlds, Schindler’s List, West Side Story,_ the _Indiana Jones_ films and _Ready Player One_ for future reactions just to enjoy his directing. Edit: You already reacted to Jaws
I thought she already did Jaws maybe I’m confusing her with somebody else. lol which I wouldn’t be surprised since I watch so many different reactors. 😅
Yep, but I think TLW gets unnecessary hate (especially considering how silly the later films get) and is still a very solid, if flawed, Dino adventure. Malcom is my favorite and carried the movie well.
*Fun Fact:* (9:35) The guy with the cowboy styled hat is based off a famous Paleontologist Robert Bakker, who Tim Murphy brings up when he's trying to tell Allen stuff as they jump from car to car.
"The compies didn't look dangerous at first sight. They were the size of a hen and walked nervously like a hen. But he (John Hammond) knew that they were venomous. Their bites delivered a slow-acting poison that they used to kill wounded animals. small theropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Triassic Period, about 222 to 219 million years ago. Procompsognathus was named by Eberhard Fraas in 1913. He named the type species, P. triassicus, on the basis of a poorly-preserved skeleton found in Württemberg, Germany. Procompsognathus may have been about 1.2 meters long (4 feet). A biped, it had long hind legs, short arms, large, clawed hands, a long slender snout with many small teeth, and a stiff tail. It lived in a relatively dry, inland environment and may have eaten insects, lizards, and other small prey. So, they can kill you. Like they did to the little girl and the guy, well the little girl escape them before too much damage was done, but that guy in the jungle that's what happened to him.
1st movie I saw on theater, at 7 years old. Still my fav film. Free dinosaurs looked great and the details between male and female T-Rexes (green/brown) and Raptors (orange/gray) are incredible. I lived on that hype and played the Pinball arcade and the SNES game, got the toys, was a great time to be a kid.
Fun Fact: For the second Novel Michael Crichton had to resurrect Ian Malcolm, because in the Novel the Character was killed in the first Book. In the Second Book he just was there again. Like Kenny in South Park. xD
Movie 3 was my favorite please do it soon! Love these reactions cause I haven’t seen them since I was a kid so it was great nostalgia. Love the channel!
Most dinosaur ancestors are actually birds, based off of what we know nowadays. They started to realize since the time when these movies came out until now, that many dinosaurs would've been covered in feathers instead of what we see in these movies where dinosaurs mainly have reptilian-like skin or scales. Velociraptor is one example of a dinosaur that was either partially covered in feathers or fully covered in feathers.
Being a fan of the franchise, I'd love to see reaction videos on the rest of the "Jurassic Park" and "Jurassic World" movies. Really enjoy the channel; the positivity and enthusiasm is refreshing.
The first is easily the best out of them all, and until the 2 jurassic worlds, this and 3 were always debated on which was worse. Looking back, both are amazing, but it's fair to see why they were hated.
Truly Eddy (guy who died first) was a champ. Even when both T-Rexs were tearing up the jeep, he was still holding down the gas as he cowered to keep the trailer from falling till the end.
OMG! This was the first ever movie I saw in theaters ever!!! I was born in 1992 and this came out in 1997 so I was gonna be 5. I legit have the ticket stub in my baby book lmfao
bit of background they don't mention in the films but it was in the lore and books i think: after the tragic and unfortunate events of the first film, the plans to build Jurassic Park on Isla Nublar were cancelled (due ot the death of several people including the ones we saw die, but there were others off screen as well). The island was evacuated and subject to saturated bombing thta would kill off the dinosaurs...now Isla Nublar lies abandoned. the company responsible for Jurassic Park, Ingen, were sued for the deaths and lost a lot of money and this is why John Hammond was forced to hand over control to his nephew Peter Ludlow. This is where the second film begins....
Dammit, I was hoping to watch your reaction to the Stegosaurs attacking Sarah after the baby got spooked by her camera rewinding. Because of that scene, the Stegosaurus's actually set a record in the Jurassic franchise: they become the first dinosaurs in the franchise to show that, if provoked, an angry plant-eater is EVERY bit as dangerous as a hungry predator.
Rip Richard Kiley 1922-1999 Bob Peck 1945-1999 Warren Zevon 1947-2003 Stan Winston 1946-2008 Greg Burson 1949-2008 Michael Crichton 1942-2008 Pete Postlethwaite 1946-2011 Richard Attenborough 1923-2014 Sean Connery 1930-2020 and William Hurt 1950-2020, Sean Connery and William Hurt were considered for this movie
The little girl in the beginning didnt die. When Goldblum is talking with Hammond ,before going the island, Hammond mentions an incident with a little girl. Then goes on to say she was fine
The dark tone of the movie is really creepy and interesting. That ominous intro. The grisly deaths. My favorite part is right before the raptors attack Malcolm’s group. It’s super quiet. Nobody is screaming anymore. You hear nothing.
Yes, definitely check out all the Jurassic Park movies, part three I do warn you everybody says it’s the worst of all of the movies ever made, but in reality, it’s not that bad the way you act about watching a movie I think you’ll like it too. The interesting thing about part three is you’ll never guess I can’t give too much of a clue to you. You’re just gonna have to be surprised because if I give you a hint, you’re gonna figure it out instantly just letting you know when you see it you’re gonna get really excited because it’s something you wanted.
The older movies are so much better in my opinion, with practical effects it takes so much more creativity to get that perfect shot. I’d pick this over cgi all day every day!
The little girl in the opening scene doesn't actually die. They kinda just mention it in passing when Hammond and Malcom are talking, but Hammond says she only got a few scratches and scrapes. I don't think this would count as a spoiler but.... as a rule in the Jurassic franchise children aren't allowed to die to dinosaurs.
10:36 I love how she specifically said to make him look stupid and ugly, as if she thought he looked smart and handsome before. 😅 Also, surprised you didn't show your reaction to his death, was looking forward to that one.
Lost World is a book. Funny enough, basically only one scene from the book is even in this movie - the cliff hang scene. Even the reason for being on the island is different.

that's not the reason why there will never be a director's or extended cut since we don't know precisely what was destroyed in the Universal archives.

For me personally, the very first one is the best overall.
Universal basically said for this one: If you’re looking for a Jurassic Park movie with more Jeff Goldblum, we’ve got the film for you!
I was thinking the same thing regarding Peter Stormare and Constantine!
I'm pretty sure the aviary in the third film was in the second novel.
I was looking to see if anyone was gonna mention this! Gotta love Peter Stormare.
At least Lost World is way better than Dominion. Sad Julianne Moore didn't make a reappearance in Dominion though
@@CMONCMON007 Personally I liked Dominion, but in all honesty Lost World was better than Fallen Kingdom which the latter film felt like a Carbon Copy Inverse of the former film.
Love your videos and Jurassic Park, can’t wait for the rest of the movies!
They definitely could have made this two separate movies, but I love it anyway. It's my second favorite Jurassic film!
Second and got the noti from Patreon 💯
Ange, you need to react to The Great Escape. It mean it also has Richard Attenborough and it’s an utter classic.
Pete Postletwaite was a great actor R.I.P.
Yeah, those were the only good Jurassic movies in my opinion.
I watched this movie more as a kid too. It makes sense because this one has more dinosaur action which kids would be more drawn to.
Michael Criton is an amazing writer. 13 of his movies have become films. In the book, the little girl in the beginning, she survived but was in critical condition. My favorite book from him is Sphere. Timeline was also an excellent book.
Absolutely the funniest reaction to this movie I've seen! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Ang is top tier reaction entertainment🙌🏽💯🫶🏼
Honestly, the rest of the movies are largely worth skipping, but Jurassic Park and The Lost World make up one helluva great duology!
I'm sorry, but if a Tyrannosaurus rex (or any predator) stuck its head in my tent while I'm asleep, I'd be pissing/shitting myself. Also, the little green dinosaur is a carnivorous species called Procompsognathus.
In the jurassic universe that's just a normal compy, not a procompsognathus
Imma be the one to say it. All the Jurassic Park movies were pretty damn good. I'd say the whole series is worth a watch tbh
Most are "entertaining" - some are "good"
😅
4:46 "The Greater Good"
Simon Pegg: "Shut it!!"
I love that reference. 😂
So funny that she called Peter Stormare the devil and he has played that part.
That little girl at the beginning didn’t die Angelina. She was just injured from the compies. Also who else thinks that Junior/Baby T-Rex is adorable?
I love the talking with the editor it makes it feel really genuine
ANGELINA since You love Steven Spielberg so much I recommend reacting to _AI: Artificial Intelligence, War of the Worlds, Schindler’s List, West Side Story,_ the _Indiana Jones_ films and _Ready Player One_ for future reactions just to enjoy his directing.
Edit: You already reacted to Jaws
I thought she already did Jaws maybe I’m confusing her with somebody else. lol which I wouldn’t be surprised since I watch so many different reactors. 😅
@@amber.ren_1995 No you’re right she actually did reacted to JAWS.
@@EChacondid she talk as much in that reaction as she does in all of her other reactions?
First is still best imo
Yep, but I think TLW gets unnecessary hate (especially considering how silly the later films get) and is still a very solid, if flawed, Dino adventure. Malcom is my favorite and carried the movie well.
Actually it was the dad T-Rex in the city. Roland wanted to catch the "Buck"
This is the first reaction to this I’ve seen where the reactor both noticed the dog got eaten and didn’t feel sad about it.
I love this one... love them all, but I remember seeing this in theatres, it was a blast.
The San Diego T-Rex was the father, Roland was hunting specifically for a male . . .
yes please continue with this franchise :)
*Fun Fact:* (9:35) The guy with the cowboy styled hat is based off a famous Paleontologist Robert Bakker, who Tim Murphy brings up when he's trying to tell Allen stuff as they jump from car to car.
I need that pitch perfect commentary. Just saw the movies for the first time and I love them all.
Editor missed a great opportunity when drawing devil horns on Peter Stormare to put in a picture of him playing Satan in Constantine.
Like Kenny in South Park. xD
I love this movie its such a roller coaster ride. Great pacing
love this reactions so much I’ve never seen anyone react to these movies!!! I’d love to see you react to the rest of the jurassic park movies!
I love your reactions. Can't wait for the rest of the saga
FYI, the Trex in the city was the Daddy that was captured and taught the baby rex how to kill.
10:40 Ironically he did play Lucifer in the movie Constantine.😈
Movie 3 was my favorite please do it soon! Love these reactions cause I haven’t seen them since I was a kid so it was great nostalgia. Love the channel!
Most dinosaur ancestors are actually birds, based off of what we know nowadays. They started to realize since the time when these movies came out until now, that many dinosaurs would've been covered in feathers instead of what we see in these movies where dinosaurs mainly have reptilian-like skin or scales. Velociraptor is one example of a dinosaur that was either partially covered in feathers or fully covered in feathers.
PLEASE DO NEXT JP3 AND JW AND JWFK AND JWD
Man is single handedly responsible for dozens of deaths, Ang: "MVP!"
i love Makcom lines when they were rescuing the infant in the facility
Best line in the movie... “Oh, yeah. Oooh, ahhh, that's how it always starts. Then later there's running and..... screaming.”
Only place where the geese chase you 😅
OMG! This was the first ever movie I saw in theaters ever!!! I was born in 1992 and this came out in 1997 so I was gonna be 5. I legit have the ticket stub in my baby book lmfao
Nothing beats the first movie from 1993 though
bit of background they don't mention in the films but it was in the lore and books i think: after the tragic and unfortunate events of the first film, the plans to build Jurassic Park on Isla Nublar were cancelled (due ot the death of several people including the ones we saw die, but there were others off screen as well).
Fun Fact: the actor that played Decker (the a-hole that zapped the compy) played Satan in Constantine 10:45
I like this one more than JP1 just because I saw it on the big screen 🤩 but of course JP1 is incredible!!!

"Is JP2 better than the first?" - Oh, I can answer that! Nonononononoooooooooooooooo! 🤣 but it least it has VELOCIRAPTOR GYMKATA!
The irony of adding devil horn's to Peter Stormare's closeup when he's behind one of the the best versions of Satan in movies in Constantine.
The little girl in the beginning didnt die. When Goldblum is talking with Hammond ,before going the island, Hammond mentions an incident with a little girl. Then goes on to say she was fine
Definitely, please continue. It's definitely my favorite movie franchise of all time.
The dark tone of the movie is really creepy and interesting. That ominous intro. The grisly deaths. My favorite part is right before the raptors attack Malcolm’s group. It’s super quiet. Nobody is screaming anymore. You hear nothing.
Fun fact: The beginning of Jurassic Park 2 is how the beginning of the book starts.
The beginning of the first book or second one?
Michael Crighton wrote the novel this movie is based on sitting on beach in Hawaii over a 3 day period.
22:26 i think you're the first person to react excited to that scene almost everyone has hated that scene
The older movies are so much better in my opinion, with practical effects it takes so much more creativity to get that perfect shot.
I’d pick this over cgi all day every day!
The book's forward is basically the Krusty the Clown "they drove a dumptruck full of money up to my house" apology.
Birds are what's left of the dinosaurs from the their extinction, so the girl isn't wrong. Sharp eyes for detail but not from danger lol
Now I'm ready for jassica park 3 my favorite movie
10:36 I love how she specifically said to make him look stupid and ugly, as if she thought he looked smart and handsome before. 😅
Also, surprised you didn't show your reaction to his death, was looking forward to that one.
I loved that she called him a devil when he actually played the role of Lucifer in Constantine years later😆
Hey Peter Stormare is a chad, you take that back.
Awesome reaction of my favorite Jurassic Park Movie and I been to the Jurassic World Exhibition on Black Friday!!!!!
Fun fact: The actor you had your editor draw devil horns on is Peter Stormare who played the devil himself in the movie Constantine.
I remember watching this in theaters. This is my favorite of the bunch.
The answer to your question is “no, this one isn’t better than the first one,” but you asking that question is very endearing. 😅
Right
I am READY for 3 glorious Pitch Perfect commentaries!
Lost World is a book. Funny enough, basically only one scene from the book is even in this movie - the cliff hang scene. Even the reason for being on the island is different.
Great movie, my personal favorite out of the franchise. I would love to see a reaction for Jurassic Park III. Also, the Rex that was on the main land was a male, not a female. 🦖
