I don't understand the logic in complaining that El Toro is "rough". I get VERY triggered when people complain about woodies being rough. For me, the rougher the better. Adds so much more thrill to it; smooth rides are boring. That is why, I too, prefer woodies over steel coasters
Edit: Ok, I don't really remember writing this, but it's a very stupid comment lol. I get what I was trying to say, but the way I worded it made me sound like an idiot

    • @RY30DM

@@chiefbeef6251 Great Adventure has never been about wood coasters, even back in the day when I was a little kid going to the park (I'll be 50 in two months). So, for the GP, they need to keep El Toro running like a steel coaster, and I enjoy it so much better too. I thought it was in horrible condition two years ago. They need to keep up on the maintenance or it'll become another Collosos at Heide Park, and not one wants that. rcdb.com/988.htm

So. I was weirdly tall as a child. So my parents realised "hey, we can make them ride any roller coaster we want with them and no one can stop us." So when I was, say, 8, my Mother put me in line for this. She refused to ride with me. So I had to ride alone. I was so scared that I held my breath the entire time. In the on board photo my cheeks were puffed like a pufferfish. Now, normally, I actually smile in fear on roller coasters. I was so scared that I smiled through these puffed cheeks. As you can imagine, I was terrified to ride rollercoasters after. I couldn't ride them because I would become too stressed on line and bail. And my father mocked me. He assumed Torro was just a reskin of Roaring Thunder. Which makes sense, because he is so deaf that he couldn't hear the difference.
For years I would only ride Runaway Train and Houdini. I was too scared at Disney to ride Haunted Mansion! I worked to conquer this fear. But eventually, by watching videos like this one about the science and safety measures of rides, I managed to become confident enough to stay on line. And I love roller coasters now! I rode Nitro during the Christmas opening for so long without getting off that the friend I was riding with sprained her tailbone.
But my father's sister visited last year, and she wanted to ride El Toro. He is a roller coaster veteran, having been at the park when Runaway Train was the only steel coaster. So he had to ride it. He was terrified by it. He came off noticeably shaken and feeling sick. He refused to apologize for the mockery, and said that though I was justified in being afraid of el Toro but not all rollercoasters. Which seemed cruel at the time, but is pretty reasonable.

Absolutley agreed brotha. I have been to Great Adventure since I was born 1992 and have a marathon record of 25 straight on EL Toro at Riding of the Bull. I think there really isn't a best seat on El Toro, it's about what personally you define as most intense. Both the Ejector and Floater are violent no matter what seat your in, like you said the front is going to force you out as you fly up the hills and the back will give you that sustained Flojecter as you crest over and then back down. The Valley's on El Toro are the smallest that I've seen on intense traditional woodies that I have rode topping Shivering Timbers, Hades and the Voyage. Also on the bank down I can understand why people would define it as rough, but to me after marathoning it 25 straight times last year and 21 the year before as well as going on it since opening, it's natural to me as well. I ask the people who complain about El-Toro being rough if they have rode Rolling Thunder, because if we want to talk rough rides look no further. I also went on it's sister coaster Balder at Liseberg(plan on riding Colossos next year) and I think with Balder your lacking the laterals el toro has, however you also get insane ejector(maybe even slightly over RMC level) on the bunny hills given how friendly the lap bars are. But I can definitely see why you have El-Toro as #1. I think you put out amazing content and would love to meet you as you go really in depth with your reviews. Amazing content as always!!

    • @RY30DM
      @RY30DM 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I can't marathon El Toro since my butt starts to hurt really badly. I'm a small thin person, and there's not enough padding for my liking. And if you want to really experience all the Intamin pre-fabs, make sure you make it to South Korea.

It's what more People shall do. Ever read trough online Product Reviews? I mean Fake Reviews are a Reason alone to take Online Reviews with the most heaviest pinch of Salt, but you can't count on genuine Reviews either for a lot of Crap. I've seen so many Products getting 1 Star Reviews, because the User is simply to stupid to use a Product or read the Description. For Example, I'm using a HDMI Splitter. It is cheap, reliable, does exactly what it is supposed to and does it well. But it doesn't do 4k. It didn't say it could; in Fact they rated it for 1080p /60 Hz. Literally all of the 1 Star Reviews complained, that it couldn't handle 4K...
Positive Reviews as well. Especially electrical Devices, lol. I'm a trained Electrician. Yes, this Charger looks fine, it was cheap, and it charges the Phone. But it may also kill ya. This Lamp looks very fancy, I like it! But without modifications to the Stupid Thing, your Child may be Electricuted one day, because the Housing is conductive Metal and there is no fucking way to connect it to PE.
Ok sure, Rollercoasters are in the End Subjective - 99/100 People may LOVE a Ride, but you just don't and there is nothing you could do to change that. However, you can still talk objectively and I appreciate that he does bring in all the Facts to his personal - very positive - Opinion. That's how it should be! And that's why People who don't know the Fuck they are talking about shouldn't do Reviews.

Rode El Toro for the first time this year (2022) in July. I love aggressive wood coasters, Tx. Cyclone before it's mods is my all-time favorite. I love Boulderdash, Shivering Timbers, Vancouver Coaster, Coney Cyclone. However, El Toro's rough spots are indicative of problems with the track, structure or (less likely) the trains. I know this coaster was smooth in the past & I long to ride it as it was intended. I rode 20+ times, in most seats, trying hard to enjoy this awesome, beautiful woodie. The current problem areas on El Toro are obvious, unfortunate issues which need to be addressed; they make the ride an uncomfortable chore to ride right now.

OMG, little did she know, it's the most terrifying ride in the park, brilliant, but terrifying, what a great coaster. I've never seen her look so shocked. El Toro is easily my favorite Wooden coaster and easily my Top 5 of all time. This coaster reignited my respect for wooden coasters. I was 12 years old, and rode I305 that year when I went to KD. I went to SFGA and just got off Kingda Ka. I was thinking, yeah I’m too good for wooden coaster since I though “they were for kids”, since I always thought they barely went just above 100ft. And then my mom said let’s just try it out. I decided to. We went to the front. Headed up the hill, I looked down and said “wait this is high for a wooden coaster”, and as soon as we went down the hill, the rest was history. I completely underestimated the ride. One of the best experiences of my life.

When my family bought season passes, I waited almost a full year to ride this ride as we kept missing it. When I finally rode it, I knew then and there that it earned it’s title as one of if not the best wooden coaster ever built. I rode it twice in that weekend visit and loved it

22 minutes thats love, man. First time I rode in 2008 was a religious experience. This coaster is still this holy grail to me. Too bad its 3000 miles away. My 2018 rides did jackhammer me a little hopefully that doesnt continue

What a great looking wooden coaster this is! I sure wish Carowinds had a coaster like this. It's a shame the situation for wooden coasters in Carowinds, my local park, is so dire. They closed down Thunder Road, one of the most controversial decisions for park regulars, who question that to this day. Now the only wooden coaster left is Hurler...a very old, aged wooden coaster, with frequent downtime and extremely rough ride with insane jackhammering no matter where you sit. In fact, I'm kind of surprised you haven't featured that one on the Problematic Roller Coasters series yet.

It looks good, but it's loud as heck. Also, if the GP ever heard that the train went off its track during the hills, they would start a riot and demand SFGA to tear it down because its unsafe, lol.

Easily my favorite wooden coaster of the 120+ coasters I've ridden - and I actually think it's my favorite coaster ever. The front is great but the back is the absolute best. Your analysis is spot-on when comparing it to the RMCs (which I also love).

    BEST ElToro Video.
    Hands Down.
    Excellent Work Man!
I rode it early after opening.
    OUTSTANDING
Even when I rode it a apx. 5 yrs ago, it was STILL off the track at times.
    Amazing Ride all the same!
I'll be back when she reopens.

I was able to ride el toro multiple times in 2019. I did 6 rides without getting off and it was intense every time. But the best experience I had was a night ride I had while it was fright fest. The ride seemed to be going it’s fastest that day and man.. what an experience. Pitch black darkness, fog all around the track, and it was going through that track like a demon! Can’t wait to go all year round and ride it a bunch again!

Agreed💯 what an awesome break down you have presented in this video. El Toro is such a masterpiece. I find it hard to rank among any other woodie or even the RMC hybrids. For me, it ranks among its own family (Maverick, Skyrush and Intimidator 305)

I fly across the Atlantic just for El Toro (and sister Kingda Ka)! I looooove El Toro so much. It's always a slap in the face.
In 2016 the lift cable was way faster than in 2010 and the last ejector hill (rolling thunder overpass), my preferred, scored -1.95 g and gave me a small nose bleed, that was fabulous!

I used to work on Toro In the 2012 season. It would always breakdown when I was there. They send me to Ka or Coaster and it would reopened. Worked at that park from 2011-2015

Best wood roller coaster I been on; the daughter and I love to ride in the rear row to get as much “air time” as possible.
We like to front row but the ride tends to be a bit rougher..
