It's nice for those that don't like doing some DYI, with some diffusers and some decent led strips you can get the same effect for a lot less. Nice review either way.
Does it work if you only attach a few of the beams together or do you need to connect all 6 together for it to work. Does the power cord only attach to one of the beam units, or can it attach to any of them?
it is so hard to shoot anything with light/brightness, I tend to have this issue while recording the screen of a phone. Always have to adjust the brightness and sometimes it doesn't reflect the true brightness level
Depending on what you use to shoot pictures or video with but all you should need to fix this problem is the correct filter. I use a Canon Dslr and have many filters I attach over the lens for such an occasion so just explore the different lens filters especially if you use a digital camera and ive seen filters for some of the camera phones as well. Just a suggestions.
Hey Amanda, when you set these up, were the lights magnetically held together firmly? I’m asking because I was thinking of just creating a shape with then and then having them free standing instead of being stuck to a wall, so imagine a rectangle just leaning against a wall. In your experience, is the Beam able to do that? All the pictures and use cases I’ve seen have them stuck on or on a floor.
This is cool and it's nice to see some different options starting to come out, but for the same cost as the Auora Nanoleaf tiles, I think that's the better buy IMO. More wall coverage with the tiles for around the same price. Still a very cool/different option though. Great video 👍🏼

Hello I was wondering if you know if the beam and the tiles work with the Samsung Smartthings hub? I have not seen either mentioned when looking at the hub or the lights so I am worried that they won't connect.
lifx is a great company , im glad i went lifx over Philips , nothing against hue just happy so far with lifx even thier packaging is great! Only thing at all im having happen thats a little frustrating maybe even a little creepy is having my lifx mini come on in middle of night or sometime early morning so it ends up being on when i wake but i cant fully blame lifx yet because i have my google home controling it so im gonna have to do some trial and error before faulting any certain gadget. I am aware of the daytime mode where the bulb simulates the light with the time of day and outside but almost positive i have that turned off. Any great video , and may have to pick some of these up after i grab my Aurora nano leafs first

Ended up getting three GU10 Lifx bulbs and they have been absolutely awesome I’m going to get a lifx mini one for my entry go my two rooms, I think it’ll be super cool!

An Australian company bought them for 51 million and have closed down the part of the business that sells to the public concentrating on commercial business ties. I’ll try find a link. They are selling all old stock though so you can still buy candle lights and a few other bits.
Don’t buy this. Its an insane waste of money. The the same price you can get nanoleaf panels and they’re way better than theses you can customize them and they follow along with music
I’ve had nanoleaf since day one of their release and these are much more stylish imo. I don’t even have my nanoleaf panels on the wall, the Lifx Tile look better than them with out the gaps in the middle w/o light. As far as a waste of money, you could technically consider most tech purchases, especially smart home tech a waste of money.

Oh, the canvas vs the aurora. Yes it’s nicer than the old ones for sure. I just wouldn’t use these in the same places. Huge light displays make a statement. These to me are more of an accent.

Not with the Hue app. But you can have both installed in your home
