I woke up this morning and absolutely thought HEY I need lights under my counter and behind pictures and put so many in so It is no longer an accent but clearly a carnival feeling. My life is now complete.
I ordered a couple of these for my room about a year and a half ago. One stopped working completely and I contacted customer support with my 2 year warranty and got it replaced with no questions asked. The process took all of 5 minutes and they send my new light within 24 hours. Awesome company!
Amazing demonstration of the LIFX ecosystem, I'm leaning more and more towards LIFX. But without a Bridge doesn't that mean that you won't be able to control the lights when the internet goes down? Also does the LIFX has any regular remote controllers for family members that are not comfortable with voice assistant or a phone app? Lastly how many users can share the lights in the app or can only one family member connect the lights to that persons app?
Phillips hue is cheaper, he mentioned the hue hub being 40 pounds then showed lots lights which are all more expensive then hue counterparts so, hue even with the hub is cheaper for large setups LIFX is known to have brighter whites and slightly more vivid colours Hue is known to have the better app in terms of usage, He said the app is 'complicated' which is not true at all, it has every functionality LIFX does except for some fun ones such as 'music match' where LIFX will pulse to the sounds and other mode where LIFX bulbs communicate and make patterns and such Hue has more lights and accessory's. Lots of them, motions sensors with thermometer, remotes, switches entertainment lights which can be set up to provide backlights to computers and TV's, outdoor lights, wireless lights. Both are compatible with most smart devices (Alexa, Google, Homekit, IFTTT) Lifespan is meant to be better on Phillips hue with a better warranty program than LIFX My recommendation is dependent on what you want, the bare bones cheapest hue lights is 2 basic white with dimmer, and is 20 pounds* just a white bulb, you cant get that with LIFX (1 small white is 24) , so if you just want to test the waters with smart lighting you can get four white bulbs and the hub for around 100 pounds and when you feel your life needs more colour look at both LIFX and hue, and considering you already have the hub, I know the choice you would make. Thank you I'm sold 😊. I've noticed with the LIFX led strip lights you receive 2 X 1metre strips . If I wanted to put these strips in different locations I'd have to pay out another £40+ for a plug cable attachment. Is there a way around this do you know?
LifX also has Light Tiles which are so much better than the nanoleaf ones, as on the software you can literally DRAW things onto the panels, similar to the strips shown here, except large squares which you can actually draw onto. If you were to use something like a drawing tablet, you could make super cool designs with a bit of patience. Definitely worth looking at.
Yes, of course you can use a light switch to power them off and on. And then use the app to change the brightness or color temperature. Best lights out there
what he is not telling you .. that you need a pretty good wifi coverage .. also the issue when stuff drops out of wifi .. like wifi likes to do ... Does the effects also works with the light bulbs? Can i make a light bulb go through a color cycle? Example i want it to turn purple, orange and green, can it do that?
I have the bulb and no you can’t however you can put it to a color cycle that changes colours by itself and you can set the colour degree up to 180° or lower which will only do some colours but you can chose your own colours such as purple, orange, and green like you said
I bought this today and installed it in my kitchen and omg i love the colors the effects and all the things you can do on the app It is worth every dollar
I have had mine for a years. I look the option to have the lights turn on as the sun sets. Also a great way to say time for bed when lights go out on a timer.
