The issue that many don’t realize is that the vast majority of people who go “missing” for a day or two show up unharmed soon after. If police went after every single instance of someone disappearing for a few days they’d have few resources to do anything else.
Not to defend by any means. Usually a missing persons report isn't put out until the person has been "missing" for at least 24-48 hours. That being said, as soon as you're presented with video evidence that something shady is going on and the person still hasn't shown up, regardless of the situation, any decent person would have no issue with putting out a report at that point.
Happens with kids that hate there home invioment they usually take off to a friend's house not letting the parents know is why they just up n leave and yes wasting time n resources most the time where the person turns up later on.... everyone needs a breakaway now n then

What a loving, caring, dedicated brother. He couldn't stop her murder, but he kept at it until authorities found her and discovered what happened. God Bless him!
Yep 100%!! And that makes me sad and angry that some pull and influence is so obviously needed in some cases for a department to even start taking it half way serious! That should never ever be the case cos how many of us are lucky to have a parent or family friends working in certain sectors of the government? Not many of us I would say.

Beware anyone who is cruel to animals saying things like the chickens got squashed on the road because they got out of their run, or not taking a dog to the vet on the weekend who is not able to respond because of the predicted cost...there are small cruelties too that indicate power plays and threat leaking into speech. I am from London, UK. For the past 35 years at least, the police in London kept bringing out warnings to the public to always have their car doors locked and windows fully up. It has become a habit, and even though I live in a relatively safe area now in the North of England, old habits die hard. As soon as I enter the car, I lock all the doors immediately. Before getting in the car, I lock all other doors and look around before opening the driver door and immediately lock it. I know for some people this may seem like a lot, but it only takes less than a minute.

Haven't seen anybody else in the comments mention it, but huge respect for that officer who found Naomi's grave, the way he paid his respects felt extremely sad and yet heartwarming to see one person pay respects to another they did not know personally.

As a retired police officer.... I'm ashamed of that copper dismissing the brother's concerns. As soon as a complainant states the behaviour is uncharacteristic of the missing person, you (at least) take a report.
Why do cops not tell you why you’re under arrest or why you’re being detained? It seems like it should be illegal to do that. If anything like that is going on you should be informed as to what is happening.
Zilemas cooperation with the police is commendable. Her family should be proud that she is a strong women and didn't try to hide what her boyfriend did. Very wise. She helped the family to have closure. Thank goodness no harm came to her when she was with that monster.

That's ridiculous. It did kinda look like a drug deal, I've been in a few.... and she was an 18 year old that hasn't been seen by 1 person for less than a day. But to lose his pension and job? you know how many calls they probably get about a missing 18 or 19 year old that ends up being just that person going to a party out of town or something? It's not that suspicious unless someone had seen something. The next day with actual video of it, it was kinda stupid to just dismiss it at first, but it didn't sound like the cops actually did, just an offhand comment, they put out a BOLO on the car directly after he said that he didn't know and it looked like a drug deal to him.

I can see why he felt the way he did (after settling for the idea that the cop came up with). As he was literally speaking to someone that is being paid to be helpful, responsible and experienced enough to see and understand what he witnessed on the video. The outcome of his feelings pretty much runs along the lines of what takes place, compliments of disappointment and foolery.
My son is so protective of his sister no matter how many stupid decisions she makes. She’s doing great now for the record but there is definitely something special about a brother’s love for his sister.
It’s because cops are hundreds of thousands of cases of teenagers going “missing”, so they just assume it’s another silly case. This is why my city’s police department changed the policy a long time ago. They will take the report from a family member no matter what, no 24 hour rule, no questions asked.
If you're a deputy refusing twice to file a missing person's report about a stable, predictable, untroubled person, you should not be a deputy. Go work at McDonalds or something if you care that little about people.
In another one of these videos people reported a homeless guy missing, he had a normal routine where he would come and read in front of this ladys shop and work for some place. They all reported him missing after 1 day and the police took it seriously turns out he had been murdered. People noticed he missed his routine after one day tho and he was a homeless old man.
My mother was killed August 17th 2023 by her ex. He's still awaiting trial but I hope to tell her sorry here one day so that others may know how amazing she was ❤️

As a law enforcement officer myself, that deputy that refused to file a missing persons report NEEDS to be fired. There is absolutely no reason he should be in this field if that’s going to be his attitude.
Naomi's brother is one of the sanest people I've heard on any video like this. It's incredibly sad that the police didn't take him seriously straight away. So sorry for the family. RiP Naomi.
She was 18 considered an adult! Not going to be a priority especially it was like 1 day or so that’s how it works! It’s easy to say they didn’t do their job but people disappear All the time especially teenagers

I didn't finish the video yet, but I was glancing at the comments because I was expecting a reveal that she was in on it. Something about the way she told it just felt very prepared, but hopefully that's just because of the editing. Every little detail like the hands in the pockets story just felt like too perfect of an anecdote. While saying things like "And no one else could have deleted the footage but him" when it definitely could have been her too. Feels bad to say if she is indeed innocent, but some of the other details sketched me out too. She seems slimy too.

I am so impressed with how you pull the whole story together and have clear narration based on the investigation. This is the 3rd one ive watched. I normally dont care for true crime but this is incredibly well done. You should take these to a streaming station. You deserve an award for these. The last one i watched was about a woman abused and tortured. I was so captivated. Normally webcam footage is too hard to follow but you nailed it.
I've never once understood how "The first 24 hours are the most important" and "We won't file a report until 48 hours" go together. Edited to say thank you so much for the replies! I didn't think this was a hard and fast rule or even the law, just the line we seem to hear over and over. Agreed heartily with everyone who said to report immediately and, if necessary, keep calling / hollering / badgering until you get the answer you need! There is no waiting period to file a missing person report. The minute you think someone is missing, report it! The idea that you must wait 48 hours is actually a common misconception. There were a few times my sister went missing because of her addiction, just dropped off the radar for a few months. We were told they wouldn’t file a missing persons report for her until at least 72 hours:/ luckily she came home each time
There is no law requiring law enforcement to wait 48 hrs. If you truly believe someone is missing call, report, keep calling, call other agencies, just keep on them. Even post and getting the post to go viral so the mayor sees it! Do whatever you can! Don’t let cops make I wait!

Zulema is an incredible person! She was crushed by the thought of her BF being a killer, yet she told the detectives anything she could think of that may have been clues.
Troy’s girl friend, Zulema, deserves a LOT of credit for being so open and honest about what happened over those days after Naomi’s kidnapping. She must have realized that she and her family were living with a potential killer and by telling everything she knew, she protected herself and her family. Her answers were intelligent, detailed, and organized and must have made the FBI’s job much easier! Well done, Zulema!
i feel like once she saw HIS truck as a suspect in a disappearance, she put it all together. The weird statements, the obsession with killings and killers, the dating site activity, the time away from home, the aimlessly driving around in the early hours, the despondent activity directly after the kidnapping/murder. I bet she realized it, and then got scared. So when he got picked up through his own mistakes, she played ignorant but desperatly wanted to tell investigators she though he did it. That's why she was so 'helpful.' It was the only way she thought she could escape him.
Yes, I was impressed by how intelligent she is and how she was willing to accept the possibility he was guilty. Too often people intentionally close their eyes to overwhelming evidence in these cases. She was like… “I’m going to just tell everything because if he’s innocent it won’t matter but if he’s not…”

I was 41 when I met a guy atta bar and then later on the date he said did you tell anyone you was with me and I said NO and he said so I could kill you and no one would ever know it was me....and I said WTH?? There are cameras all around this parking lot.....and then he said he was jus making a point for me to be more careful with my life......WHACK-O.

I met someone at my job who seemed like a very funny nice and caring person. Later I learned he had some drama between co-workers and I also didn't like the place so we shared experiences and it felt better. He became my mentor as well. As time went on he kept sharing with me about his on-going issues at work, and that some customer reported him because allegedly he made an inappropriate "joke" to another worker and the customer was a witness. He got fired as a result, and I truly felt sorry for him, because knowing him he made inappropriate jokes but they weren't directed at me, and while we were outside of work hours. I was angry at him and told him he made a mistake that ruined his career. Later on he shared with me that his father shot his mother in the head while he was in a car. And that trauma remained with him all his life, and he became an alcoholic as a result. Said he joined a gang group as a teenager and he along with a group of other teenage boys were doing so-called "justice" to women. They were catching all men who beat their wives and beating them (the men). He said they caused them serious injuries. He was in jail. I asked him if he ever killed anyone, and he would never answer. He asked me one time "you're not recording our conversations, are you?" I said "No, why do you have something to hide?" "I can make that phone disappear, you know that, right?" that comment sent shivers down my spine. But he laughed about it, as if this was funny. Finally one evening when we were out for some drinks, he said he did in fact kill someone unintentionally. Then next time I would ask him about it - he would not remember the conversation (or pretend not to remember). His behavior concerned me more and more because he showed up completely inebriated when I met him in public places. I didn't feel safe being in his vehicle for 1st reason - he was probably drinking and driving. And other for all things he already shared. Finally I took a photo of his license plate and also I casually took a photo of him and myself as a "selfie". He said "are you taking this photo as evidence (laugh)"? I said "of course and by the way, if I disappear my phone has a tracker. Everyone would be looking for me, and I always tell my family who I am going out with. I share their name and phone number." (this was a bluff, but later when he contacted me I told him I couldn't see him anymore and that he needs to get help with his addiction). I ended all conversations and blocked him. Luckily he doesn't know where I live, but he knows the area where I live. I'm still a little nervous coming outside, but at least I know he can't get to me. So, listen to your gut, always.
It’s so important to remind our family members of the importance of staying on top of each other’s doings regardless of age /location. The brother is amazing for noticing and making sure his sister was found. My prayers go out to this family.
The officer who initially blew off Casey's concerns should be held accountable. His pride and ego interfere with his ability to respond appropriately. He has no business working in law enforcement.

I agree that it is concerning how lackadaisical the police officer was with Casey's distress, but how many worst case scenarios come from emergency calls from an older brother being concerned about a sibling? Secondly, the issue isn't with their adulthood, it's frankly the opposite, 18 year olds can be incredibly childish and can do REALLY stupid things for no apparent reason.
I totally agree. Before cellphones were available, my mother would worry if my sister didn't call every day, though she was married and lived elsewhere. I lived with my mother, but was always away on long work trips. After 30 days without calling home, I called to let her know I would be back that evening. I had to delay returning home due to work issues, I forgot about the call, and only two days later, my mother called the head office for news about me.
Naomi's brother had that really suspicious footage of that guy getting into Naomi's car and the cop still wasn't ready to take a missing persons report. I thought that was really strange. When the Mom involved her friend from the FBI, this seemed to get the local police off their asses. Naomi's brother is wonderful.
You know heads had to roll in that sheriff’s office after the FBI got involved, especially after learning how high up in government her parents worked!!!

That Sheriff Deputy needs to be fired. I feel so sorry for Naomi's family especially her brother who tried to get the Sheriff's Dept. to take this case seriously. The questions he asked Zulema's stepdaughter about riding the charter bus was he maybe thinking of taking her but then found Naomi first. I'm so glad he can no longer hurt any other young women because he wouldn't have stopped.
When the police found out that Naomi's father works with the state department,it was suddenly taken seriously.That first deputy must shoulder the majority of the blame for what happened.
Casey and his mother show in their interviews what a lovely family Naomi came from. It just makes it all the more tragic. I hope they find what peace it is possible to reclaim from this terrible loss.

I think it’s unconscionable that an officer would say I’m not gonna file a report because this just looks like a drug deal. So that means that if it looks like a drug deal and someone disappears, then they don’t care the point was that she still was not found even if it was just a drug deal. Obviously something went awry during the drug deal. it’s like the officer was saying well if she was involved in an illegal act that I am assuming then her life isn’t worth me finding out what happened to her or where she is. Just disgusting that’s not a peace officer.
This case sickened me. First, the first officer not filing. Second, the poor parents stuck a country away when they heard she was missing. Third, his parents acting the way they did. Fourth, the absolute disgusting thing he committed. Fifth, him not getting to ROT in his guilt after he was caught. These are just few of the many reasons. No one deserves her fate. I’m just glad the ex-gf told the truth and helped uncover the real story. I hope peace finds her and she’s able to find a better man to care for her and her kids. Rest in peace Naomi.

With so many cases like this, it still boggles my mind how police can still be slow to act when a person is being reported missing, especially when there's CCTV available. If Naomi's parents didn't know that FBI agent, they'd still be looking for her killer today.
I totally get not filing right away when all you know is "she hasn't shown up today", plenty of likely reasons why that could happen and the person would like to be left alone, HOWEVER nobody gets in a car and drives off that quickly unless they're either not supposed to be in said vehicle, i.e. a kidnapping, or they're being chased by a crowd of zombies. Really surprised me that they brushed off that CCTV incident, nobody gets in a car and drives off like that
@EisernRob, are you daft? Cops have INSANELY high budgets and that's why they're building these Cop Cities for millions of dollars. That's why NYPD has a presence in over a dozen COUNTRIES. The police are not here for us. They only exist to protect property and do the government's bidding.

The fact that the cops refused to put in a missing persons report after Casey called is borderline criminal negligence, it doesn't matter if anyone is over the legal age of adulthood, if there is a single reason for someone to suspect a loved one to be in trouble or missing, the cops should act immediately.
@@dissonantelysium Suzanne's Law requires law enforcement to notify the NCIC anytime anyone under the age of 21 is reported missing, signed into law in 2003 by President Bush. That IS how it should work.

If a cop says they can't take a missing persons report demand a supervisor. There is no absolutely no state or local police department where that is procedure. This falsehood has ruined so many lives.

Probably was an extremely busy night based on the officer’s response time and calling the reporting party instead of showing up in person. It was a lazy decision that could’ve saved a life. Unfortunately, you can't really sue any police department. If you win, your compensation comes out of the local authority budget and never affects the police budget. When the police do one of these appalling things, they commit two crimes: one against the people they directly hurt, and another against the community.
i feel bad for her. she met him on a site meant for cheating and talks so casually about him using the same site to cheat on her. and so nonchalantly describing the suspicious things he’s said and done. i don’t know if she was in denial or blinded by love but yeah, this man is a walking red flag.

When a person is actually reported missing, that's when they initiate searches and start investigating. They wasted days by not filing that report. In many cases that can cost a person their life. Absolutely unacceptable

I will always remember Naomi. I was one of the missing persons advocates who was a voice for her. This made me be more aware of my surroundings every time I go out in the public.
I love the perspective and attention of this video being so heavily towards the victim, instead of focused on the perpetrator. So respectful and informative
But it’s also useful to get the perspective from the suspect because it helps us see how someone can live a normal life and appear to be a family man, but be plotting nothing but evil things. It helps us see how cowards plan and plot on how to get victims. It helps us learn and be more aware of certain things we do in our day to day life, that can help us defend ourselves in certain situations.

They’re people just like you or I. Nobody believes things like this happen in their community / jurisdiction. And calls from concerned family who end up just being kids who stayed at a friends are quite common. Regardless, when there’s evidence that someone jumped into a car with a woman who’s now missing and drove off is VERY suspect. That cop just didn’t want to do the paperwork.

Naomi was such a precious person. I'm a part of her community and we looked everywhere for her. Her family and police set up massive searches, where nearly a thousand+ people and their dogs showed up to comb through the Nevada Desert. A lot of us felt like we were looking in the wrong direction, but frankly we had nothing to base that on other than there was NOTHING out there, not even tire tracks of foot prints. She was eventually found in the opposite direction they had us searching. When I found that out I was mad, because so many of us felt in our hearts we weren't going in the right direction and had even openly stated it, but no one can base an investigation off of "feelings." Her family was so heart broken, and frankly, seeing a tragedy like this in person doesn't even compare to the stories online. Once her body was found we put up ribbons around town that were her favorite color to help her be remembered by the community, but no one will be forgetting anytime soon. We are a small town, Walmart is our only store and everyone was so scared for her and themselves. I can also say... the Sheriff that lead the investigation is no longer the Sheriff. He was voted out the very next year. The fact that she was only "important" after they realized who her parents were was really infuriating. The bastard that took her hung himself in jail, may he burn for eternity. She deserved better, her family deserved better and her brother was at the front of it all.

The cop that refused to put out a missing persons report should be fired. There is literally no risk putting one out, but a HUGE risk to not.
The issue that many don’t realize is that the vast majority of people who go “missing” for a day or two show up unharmed soon after. If police went after every single instance of someone disappearing for a few days they’d have few resources to do anything else.
Not to defend by any means. Usually a missing persons report isn't put out until the person has been "missing" for at least 24-48 hours. That being said, as soon as you're presented with video evidence that something shady is going on and the person still hasn't shown up, regardless of the situation, any decent person would have no issue with putting out a report at that point.
Happens with kids that hate there home invioment they usually take off to a friend's house not letting the parents know is why they just up n leave and yes wasting time n resources most the time where the person turns up later on.... everyone needs a breakaway now n then

I am from London, UK. For the past 35 years at least, the police in London kept bringing out warnings to the public to always have their car doors locked and windows fully up. It has become a habit, and even though I live in a relatively safe area now in the North of England, old habits die hard. As soon as I enter the car, I lock all the doors immediately. Before getting in the car, I lock all other doors and look around before opening the driver door and immediately lock it. I know for some people this may seem like a lot, but it only takes less than a minute.

That's ridiculous. It did kinda look like a drug deal, I've been in a few.... and she was an 18 year old that hasn't been seen by 1 person for less than a day. It’s because cops are hundreds of thousands of cases of teenagers going “missing”, so they just assume it’s another silly case. This is why my city’s police department changed the policy a long time ago. They will take the report from a family member no matter what, no 24 hour rule, no questions asked.

In another one of these videos people reported a homeless guy missing, he had a normal routine where he would come and read in front of this ladys shop and work for some place. They all reported him missing after 1 day and the police took it seriously turns out he had been murdered. People noticed he missed his routine after one day tho and he was a homeless old man.

I didn't finish the video yet, but I was glancing at the comments because I was expecting a reveal that she was in on it. Something about the way she told it just felt very prepared, but hopefully that's just because of the editing. Every little detail like the hands in the pockets story just felt like too perfect of an anecdote. While saying things like "And no one else could have deleted the footage but him" when it definitely could have been her too.

There were a few times my sister went missing because of her addiction, just dropped off the radar for a few months. We were told they wouldn’t file a missing persons report for her until at least 72 hours:/ luckily she came home each time

She must have realized that she and her family were living with a potential killer and by telling everything she knew, she protected herself and her family. I met someone at my job who seemed like a very funny nice and caring person. Later I learned he had some drama between co-workers and I also didn't like the place so we shared experiences and it felt better. He became my mentor as well. As time went on he kept sharing with me about his on-going issues at work, and that some customer reported him because allegedly he made an inappropriate "joke" to another worker and the customer was a witness. He got fired as a result, and I truly felt sorry for him, because knowing him he made inappropriate jokes but they weren't directed at me, and while we were outside of work hours. I was angry at him and told him he made a mistake that ruined his career. Later on he shared with me that his father shot his mother in the head while he was in a car. And that trauma remained with him all his life, and he became an alcoholic as a result. Said he joined a gang group as a teenager and he along with a group of other teenage boys were doing so-called "justice" to women. They were catching all men who beat their wives and beating them (the men). He said they caused them serious injuries. He was in jail. I asked him if he ever killed anyone, and he would never answer. He asked me one time "you're not recording our conversations, are you?" I said "No, why do you have something to hide?" "I can make that phone disappear, you know that, right?" that comment sent shivers down my spine. But he laughed about it, as if this was funny. Finally one evening when we were out for some drinks, he said he did in fact kill someone unintentionally. Then next time I would ask him about it - he would not remember the conversation (or pretend not to remember). His behavior concerned me more and more because he showed up completely inebriated when I met him in public places. I didn't feel safe being in his vehicle for 1st reason - he was probably drinking and driving. And other for all things he already shared. Finally I took a photo of his license plate and also I casually took a photo of him and myself as a "selfie". He said "are you taking this photo as evidence (laugh)"? I said "of course and by the way, if I disappear my phone has a tracker. Everyone would be looking for me, and I always tell my family who I am going out with. I share their name and phone number." (this was a bluff, but later when he contacted me I told him I couldn't see him anymore and that he needs to get help with his addiction). I ended all conversations and blocked him. Luckily he doesn't know where I live, but he knows the area where I live. I'm still a little nervous coming outside, but at least I know he can't get to me. So, listen to your gut, always.
Let's just be thankful he didn't hurt her or her children!

I agree that it is concerning how lackadaisical the police officer was with Casey's distress, but how many worst case scenarios come from emergency calls from an older brother being concerned about a sibling? After 30 days without calling home, I called to let her know I would be back that evening.
I had to delay returning home due to work issues, I forgot about the call, and only two days later, my mother called the head office for news about me.
Naomi's brother had that really suspicious footage of that guy getting into Naomi's car and the cop still wasn't ready to take a missing persons report. I thought that was really strange. When the Mom involved her friend from the FBI, this seemed to get the local police off their asses. Naomi's brother is wonderful.
Cops are just generally lazy and don't want their daily routines messed with too much. It's inconvenient for them.

That Sheriff Deputy needs to be fired. I feel so sorry for Naomi's family especially her brother who tried to get the Sheriff's Dept. to take this case seriously. The questions he asked Zulema's stepdaughter about riding the charter bus was he maybe thinking of taking her but then found Naomi first. I'm so glad he can no longer hurt any other young women because he wouldn't have stopped.

I think it’s unconscionable that an officer would say I’m not gonna file a report because this just looks like a drug deal. So that means that if it looks like a drug deal and someone disappears, then they don’t care the point was that she still was not found even if it was just a drug deal. Obviously something went awry during the drug deal. it’s like the officer was saying well if she was involved in an illegal act that I am assuming then her life isn’t worth me finding out what happened to her or where she is. Just disgusting that’s not a peace officer.
This case sickened me. First, the first officer not filing. Second, the poor parents stuck a country away when they heard she was missing. Third, his parents acting the way they did. Fourth, the absolute disgusting thing he committed. Fifth, him not getting to ROT in his guilt after he was caught. These are just few of the many reasons. No one deserves her fate. I’m just glad the ex-gf told the truth and helped uncover the real story. I hope peace finds her and she’s able to find a better man to care for her and her kids. Rest in peace Naomi.

With so many cases like this, it still boggles my mind how police can still be slow to act when a person is being reported missing, especially when there's CCTV available. If Naomi's parents didn't know that FBI agent, they'd still be looking for her killer today.
I totally get not filing right away when all you know is "she hasn't shown up today", plenty of likely reasons why that could happen and the person would like to be left alone, HOWEVER nobody gets in a car and drives off that quickly unless they're either not supposed to be in said vehicle, i.e. a kidnapping, or they're being chased by a crowd of zombies. Really surprised me that they brushed off that CCTV incident, nobody gets in a car and drives off like that

Probably was an extremely busy night based on the officer’s response time and calling the reporting party instead of showing up in person. It was a lazy decision that could’ve saved a life. But it’s also useful to get the perspective from the suspect because it helps us see how someone can live a normal life and appear to be a family man, but be plotting nothing but evil things. It helps us see how cowards plan and plot on how to get victims. It helps us learn and be more aware of certain things we do in our day to day life, that can help us defend ourselves in certain situations.

They’re people just like you or I. Nobody believes things like this happen in their community / jurisdiction. And calls from concerned family who end up just being kids who stayed at a friends are quite common. Regardless, when there’s evidence that someone jumped into a car with a woman who’s now missing and drove off is VERY suspect. That cop just didn’t want to do the paperwork.

I hope Zulema has gotten therapy and moved on to someone better. The number of red flags she missed is terrifying. There's no way she could have known Troy Driver was a murderer, but he was screaming with every fiber in his body that he was dangerous.
I appreciated the clips of Naomi throughout. So often the victims are forgotten but she seems like such a wonderful person. What a great family she had, hope only good things for them going forward.

Everyone has their own crap they deal with, not because they don’t care about you, they can’t. And you should do the same for yourself. the rat race has no mercy now a days.
I’ve been speaking on this some years if we have to be 21 to drink and smoke. Then it should be 21 to be a legal adult and enlist in the military. I think it should be 22 the age one graduates from college. My baby just turned 18 she is still a child not ready for life without me at all totally normal. If there’s anything I do with my life changing the legal adult age to 22 is one of them sign my petition when you see it cross you.

Amen. Naomi also had a family who would kick over every rock on the planet to find her too. That and FBI contacts pushing for an investigation really made a huge difference. How sad is it that LEO had to be forced to do their jobs?
Makes me wonder how many times he got away with this before, until one of his victims had personal connections that triggered a proper investigation? He was not a young fella and it sounds like he had plenty of opportunity over the years.

Naomi was such a precious person. I'm a part of her community and we looked everywhere for her. Her family and police set up massive searches, where nearly a thousand+ people and their dogs showed up to comb through the Nevada Desert. A lot of us felt like we were looking in the wrong direction, but frankly we had nothing to base that on other than there was NOTHING out there, not even tire tracks of foot prints. She was eventually found in the opposite direction they had us searching. When I found that out I was mad, because so many of us felt in our hearts we weren't going in the right direction and had even openly stated it, but no one can base an investigation off of "feelings." Her family was so heart broken, and frankly, seeing a tragedy like this in person doesn't even compare to the stories online. Once her body was found we put up ribbons around town that were her favorite color to help her be remembered by the community, but no one will be forgetting anytime soon. We are a small town, Walmart is our only store and everyone was so scared for her and themselves. I can also say... the Sheriff that lead the investigation is no longer the Sheriff. He was voted out the very next year. The fact that she was only "important" after they realized who her parents were was really infuriating. The bastard that took her hung himself in jail, may he burn for eternity. She deserved better, her family deserved better and her brother was at the front of it all.
I don’t get that impression of her whatsoever from this vid. Her pics, selfies, social media addiction, her voice, the type of “content” she recorded, that she was around this dude at all.

But I will say just because you only saw pictures of her in this video doesn't mean she wasn't a precious person. Everyone who is good in the world is precious and she was a kind soul who didn't get to live her life. Most adults/teens have social media and post pictures of themselves.Your online impression of her doesn't matter at the end of the day. We knew her and we loved her and we will never forget her.
