- We thought it would be a cool idea to shoot a bunch of gothic portraits for Halloween. This is a raw not so glamours behind the scenes of the shoot. Hope you guys enjoy it.

dopeness bro, i just picked up my first fuji the xt3.with the 56mm coming from sony a7ii and using the basis 85mm. i lost some sharpness but the overall im lovin the fuji

Reggie Ballesteros yep I am. Record externally and sync in post. That’s why I sound so clear so far away from the camera :)

She really must’ve been freezing, but the shots came out pretty good.
I specially enjoyed the 3rd or 4th one, in her 1st make-up...when you asked her to arch her back a little bit.
Probably my favorite.
Above all..i liked the scenery, and your tips directing her poses.. Congrats!
PS: as for gear.. i also own those 2 lenses for the Sony. I don’t use the 85mm much.. I think the AF kinda hunts a bit too much.

Didn’t get the 56 for my Fuji. I’m holding out for the XH2..and then i’ll get the 90mm f2.
Did you try a 35mm on the Fuji, for this shoot?

We have some great locations for something like this in Louisiana. But I'm not very good at posing the model.

Awesome shots! Marissa looks really cool, literally. Is the 56mm focusing better/faster on the X-T3? Why aren't you using face/eye detect in any of these shots, not accurate enough?
T. Exactly. I don’t trust face eye detect on xt2. I get better results doing focus recompose (old school)
@@LeeZavitz Oh I thought you were shooting with the X-T3, face/eye is supposedly a lot better on it compared to X-T2, and they say the 56mm also focuses faster on it with less hunting. But yeah, X-T2 still works fine with focus/recompose and AF is fast enough for portraiture like this.
Sick photoshoot, do you have any video about how the photo editing was done? Around the color grading, I have done 1 gothic photoshoot but i cannot get the skin of the model as white as you got and with the blue desaturated look. If by any chance you can explain how you got from the raw to the final picture would be great man i can even donate!
Thanks for watching! We shot this a couple years ago I can’t really remember. I edited them in photoshop. And probably did a lot of colour masks to get things where I wanted them. It’s the easiest way to to make adjustments without affecting other things
