I don't own a Fuji X100Vi... but it doesn't mean I don't want to see how awesome the shots are from this camera in hopes of one day buying one.... great video!
I don’t own one either but I also enjoy a video with x100vi in it. I might potentially buy one this year. I just have no idea how long I would have to wait
@@LeeZavitz You will have to wait a while to purchase a X100VI. They are very popular. I preordered on the 1st day and B&H has no idea when Fuji will deliver more bodies from the waiting list. They won’t disclose what my number on the waiting list I am. I was on a waiting list for the X100V for a year and still don’t have one. The best way to shoot like this is to set the recipe up but shoot RAW only. Then you just double tap Q on any keepers you get in playback mode. This flips them to jpeg with your recipe. Now the only jpegs on your card are the keepers which makes it super quick to zing them to your phone (select all then zing)...
I think the reason why the clarity slider makes the camera work more is because it applies the effect to the areas of the image where it makes sense. Like -3 clarity will have some of the highlights bleed into the dark areas in the frame, giving you a mist filter like effect. While all the other settings just changes the colors globally, so it doesn’t have to think about where in the frame the changes show up.
Awesome little Tokyo tour in the same time! 👍🏻 I am still have my X100S but yeah the VI in low ISO with the stabilized captor still correct in the low light situation, anyway to me the color film setup i will try on my X100S just for fun! Cool vibe this short vid!
Yes, please, it would be awesome if You could get these to LR presets. Not having a Fuji always makes me want one when the recipes are shown working well.
Lee..wonderful insight!..thank you...oh yeah there is definitely a "lag" when processing and on the back screen people have mentioned when you adjust the clarity other than 0..unless you really have to adjust it..definitely be prepared for that little issue..with the "lag"..lol
Great video! Those film simulations look really cool. I hope to get this camera in the near future, but I don’t want to wait forever. May get the X100V instead.
Great and very cool video thx! Just a quick note that you can set your presets/recipes list against one of the camera buttons as a shortcut which is quicker.
Yeah I think I said you can setup in settings. You can re map it to other buttons but I’m not changing my look super often so it’s cool to just change it in a menu and leave the buttons free for more common things I would be changing. Thanks for watching
Fuji if you are reading. Please consider creating a QR code system for simulation for new releases. Imagine a world where I can export and import film simulation via QR code! It will make it so much easier. There are so many sims I want to try and not enough storage😊
For Clarification, any time you add a single Clarity+ to any recipe it slows down the process. You can still add it to your recipe and by pass it by shotting in burst 3-5 burst mode and it disables clarity and you can shoot quick. But its design to slow you down to compose your photo better and also provide you with better clarity.
Kodak Gold is my go-to recipe for anything! The kodachrome 64 looks so sick at night, I'm gonna have to give it a try. Could you recommend recipes for night photography? thank you
Something people don't consider when they say "you can just edit the RAW in LR" is that Light Room processes the RAW file using it's own interpretation so you're starting point is not the same compared to shooting a JPEG in camera where Fuji's color science is applied. This color science isn't just a bunch a sliders they casually set. Fuji has shown they have went through painstaking processes to dial in their film simulations. You don't get those same benefits when you edit outside of the camera.
any tips for shooting at night? I just got my first camera (X100VI and I'm lovin' it) specifically getting those crisp/clear images at night. I don't know if it's on my end but when I adjust clarity settings for any recipe I feel like the delay makes my images more blurry? not sure haha
I am waiting the camera next week and since its my first fujifilm i am wondering , if you take a picture can you change the recipe/filter/style after you took the picture either in the camera or in the app or if you took the picture with a specific style/filter/recipe can you have a neutral picture so you can edit in lightroom for example ?
About the colorshift setting - does someone know if there's a method to clinch each individual setting to the saved profiles? I noticed on my XT2 that if I have multiple profiles with Auto WB in the settings, the colorshift resets to whatever applied last. Preferably, I would like to keep the colorshift unique for each profile.
Nice video, but rather than showing the settings on screen I think it would have been better to link to Fuji X Weekly since that's where the recipes are from.
Then I would have people complain that I didn’t show them how to set it up. They can still click link in description to go to Fuji weekly and find others
It does look nice but it doesn’t look like classic KC64 shots. Easy to proof, buy yourself a photonbook by Ernst Haas. But I am pretty sure future Fuji Cameras will have a little AI brain fed with thousands of classic film examples of the KC64 process….one day it will look exactly the same… the internal tweakable RAW converter is a nice gimmick. In the End some of the JPGs have their own look, others you still need to work on in RAW… if you like simplicity you should shoot porta 400 with an M6. The ultimate dream of simplicity and simple minds…

The film recipes should work with any Fuji camera assuming the body has the right film simulations.

for Kodachrome 64 did you change the WB from daylight to art. light for the night photos?
would like to know aswell

Thanks for sharing the recipes! But a question left. Can somebody explain me what "Sandow" is referring to? The Tone-Curve settings?
Crushed or lifted shadows. That’s what you are changing
Thanks for the reply :-))
Where can I find that option in the Fuji x100vi ? 😀

Awesome.
Question: Are the half steps of the tone curve exclusive to the x100VI or is it capable on the x100V as well?
It's on the 100v

Are the video scenes shot with the camera as well?
If they were labeled. If not then we shot it on the DJI pocket3 and Sony a7siii

For Some Reason, I can't select "Clarity" for the Kodak Gold recipe. Do you know why?
check that you're set to still image and not burst on your drive/delete button
I think also the heif was disabling clarity option. It needs to be on jpeg if I remember correctly
Did you film the intro with the Fuji?
Intro was mostly a7siii. Some iPhone 15 pro and one shot from the x100vi.
Do these recipes work on the xt-30 ii?
If you go to Fuji weekly you’ll find recipes similar that match that sensor. The xt30II has an xtrans IV sensor
Portra 400 v2 white balance daylight 5200k ?
Tokyo ❤
are those recipes JPG or they bake in RAW?
Jpg only. Nothing bakes into a raw file
Does anyone know why, when I use the Portra 400 v2 and the Kodak Gold simulations, it says “storing data”?
Like right after you take the photo? That has something to do with clarity. I turned that setting back to 0 and that storing data processing goes away
