      Yes I agree with you. It is vicalizing and not whistling and to add Kongthong is not the only village that practice this. There are a few more nearby villages.

      there's a whistling, singing tune . for everyone. whistling is only used when they call someone in the jungle.

      If the Diversity is respected sure, but sometimes it's not, in diverse lands people should learn to accept differences instead of hating Sikh and mocking them for their hair or mocking muslim for their head scarf, some indians are rather childish and uneducated about diversity

    Fact check - they whistle for communucation in the hills when they go for food gathering, firestick gathering etc. Since in rural areas there were no means of communication they took up this tradition to whistle to communicate.
    Fyi their own language is different its called khasi

    Imagine stranded while hiking. You found yourself heading toward this village. It's still at dawn and the sun stil haven full arise yet, the rays still pillaring in the sky and then the fade silhouette of the human made structures surrounded by thick fog that make you feel breezy and a little damp on your skin. For a couple minutes your hear all this calling. The atmosphere must be so sublime

      'Khasi' in general is actually the language which we use to communicate with each other, but khasi also has many branch to it or so to say dialect (khasi, khasi-war, khasi -pnar etc).

      Yep. I'm from Northeast India and this village is located here in my state but I'm from the main city called Shillong. We northeast Indians are very different from the mainland Indians N even the culture and traditions also differs. We have our own dialect. India is a vast and diverse country. 😊❤️

      They are Austro-asiatic people, so their language isn't related to Burmese. There are other ethnic groups in Northeast India who are more related to Burmese.
