      Gotta disagree - bass lines very BORING. With his own music Sting is a Master , but, not so much playing other's music evidently.

    Steven has got to be freaking with Jeff Beck on the stage. A lot of people don't understand this, but Aerosmith's LARGEST musical influence was The Yardbirds and The Jeff Beck Group. It wasn't the Stones, Zeppelin or the Fab 4. There probably isn't a band as popular as Aerosmith that was more influenced by the Yardbirds. They worshipped them, and not just because of the guitar players. It had to do with the entire group and the songs they did. Although if you ask Joe Perry, Beck is God.

    Sting skipped half of the notes in the intro, and he even plays exclusively with his thumb. He should stick to singing.

    • @natfunk5992
      @natfunk5992 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To be fair, you do have to tune the G string up to an A to play the intro as is on the original. I can, however, either play it an octave lower and still groove or just tune to A in 1/10th of a second. What I cannot do is mix rock with reggae and sing while playing bass. Stick to your strengths Gordon.

    It seems that Jeff Beck also didn't play to Tyler's satisfaction. In the last verse he clearly wanted to do a counter thing with between him and Beck, like a guitar thing after each phrase. Also you can see him before the ending telling Jeff "Don't stop."

    • @JAP42
      @JAP42 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeff is not used to working with showboating clowns like Tyler. He'd probably had as much of it as he could stand & just wanted to get the f*ck outta there.
