The 650 twin is 47hp so if they made a 500cc single it would likely be about 30hp max. And I think that would be perfect along with the increased torque. The 20hp 350 is so enjoyable to ride!
I own one of the new 350 Bullets and tbh I thought it was a pretty poor review. There is a decent tool-kit included which could have been used to tighten the mirror arm he was swinging on which he didn't mention (or likely didn't know about). This is a really comfy bike for rider and pillion and takes you back to when people actually rode their bikes, not played on them. If you want 200bhp go buy something else. Been there, done that... I'll stick with the Bullet.
Couldn't have put it better myself, He showed his Total Motorcycle Inexperience in my opinion, A typical Plastic Road rocket know all, Attitude, Lmao 🤣 Bit of a Nob really.
What you call "comically large crash bars", are extras not stand fitment? It's also the longest running model EVER in continuous production, And Royal Enfield sell nearly in one month what Triumph Sell in One Year world wide, And Royal Enfield don't advertise like Triumph have to either lmao 🤣 The mirror is your fault that you never checked it and tightened it before you set off, Which just shows your Inexperience at Motorcycling really? I'm one of those people who passed my motorcycle test on a 250cc bike, And have been riding motorcycles for 50 years, Cheers Paul Foster ✌️
Ouch! Hitting the rev limiter numerous times on a brand new bike 😔. Maybe too slow for some, but perfect for many who appreciate it. Like the other J-series RE's it's a gem if considered for what it is and what it's for. It's for a different kind of riding. Slow it down and take in the scenery 😊. 100mpg, less than £100 to insure. Not for everyone, but it's great to have so much choice. But try one, then decide.
Beautiful machine. I prefer the classic 350, but this is really cool. For those who want more power, the shotgun 650 makes the power they’re looking for. A classic 650 is in the works too.
My Brazilian 150cm³ Yamaha Crosser 150 makes about 12bhp, for an urban bike it's really nice and it has amazing fuel economy. It is not peppy or fast by any means, also I'm sure it sucks on the motorway as I've never tested it going that fast since I've gotten other proper vehicles to make longer trips at higher speeds. That being said, a not so potent motorcycle is perfectly fine for daily commuting if you don't have to go at higher speeds. If you need to take the highway where higher speeds are necessary, then you really need something that makes more power.
@@oppaidragon1135 That because the traffic, city roads, and the traffic rules are perfect for this power. Roads full of people with little bit space here and there won't allow you to ride any sort of bike at high speeds. Even 40 kmph is damn high on those roads. Coming to Ladakh, roads are great, especially for cruising, but again, you are heading to bad roads or no road after a point. What's the requirement of more power there, especially for a bike like this? It's not any ADV tourer. People all over the world buy and ride Bullet/Classic for the thump it produces and the slow, relaxed yet a fun riding experience. For that, Bullet is great.
It all depends. For city travel and some overland tours at the weekend this nice bike is sufficient. What you get is the stability and the sound of a „true“ motorcycle with the overall performance of a 15 hp 125 cc bike. 27 Nm of torque is what sets it apart from 1/8 litre bikes which should offer more punch at lower rpm’s. Concerning top speed (and therefore ‚sweet spot‘ speed) you will gain no more than a 6,5 mph ( 10 kph) advantage.
The bike is robustly built from traditional materials. Steel weighs 7850kg per cubic meter. Go figure it out! That weight is a wet weight and it's totally understandable and very welcome in a world where flimsy plastic bikes are the norm
Nice review ! Which Meteor 350 to choose? RE certainly has served up a variety. I chose the yellow Fireball for the looks and foot forward layout. Attached my number plate with stainless "bullet" shaped nuts as an homage. RE nailed it with this J series engine. Cheers
Such an ace looking bike wish they would bring back the 500 with a longer stroke and keep the simplicity interesting to see one on a bypass for once. As someone that’s rides a 1927 long stroke 500 Norton 16H that sounds really modern sounding engine wise unless it was the filming.
These bikes are great and if you’re the person who is poo pooing the lack of Horses and out of date looks then you’re missing the point and missing out on a lot of pure riding pleasure.
People in the comments behaving like RE cultists just don't realise that a major chunk of motorcycles enthusiasts rude a motorcycle for, well, enthusiasm, excitement, adrenaline, something a 200 kgs 20 hp motorcycle isn't capable of supplying. Given what the motorcycle is I think he was VERY generous in his review. Not all motorcyclists are noobies or old men.
Sometimes you just wanna enjoy the beautiful countryside instead of whizzing past it in a matter of seconds, which is why people buy this bike. It's unlike anything else on the road in terms of the looks and feel, while you'll see many plastic ponies around which provide the "adrenaline" that you seek.
Good-looking bike, but at 20 bhp it would be restricted to country lanes and towns. I have a similarly-powered old Suzuki TS185 and while a lot of fun on the right roads it's out of its depth on fast roads
What a clown. Nobody who will buy a Bullet would ever ride it as this bloke did. Constantly hitting the rev limiter is unforgivable. STICK TO YOUR 150 ZILLION BHP CROTCH ROCKETS MATEY. call back when you actually understand what lower capacity bikes are all about. You have a lot to learn about different style and types of bikes . This was the worst case ever of NOT understanding the differences.
UK motorcycle industry is a mess at the moment it needs a shake up, even the electric motorcycle momentum market has stagnated to a point where brands are not even bringing their models into the country which in turn is killing off the competitive end of the market leaving only luxury and high end available, which is not a good look if you are trying to make electric as attractive as possible to convince ICE riders to switch. The test system also needs a refresh as it is ridiculously outdated and undervalues the riders who have already gained experience and skills in passing the A1 or A2 test under normal road conditions like any other bike or car. The big 4 brands also need to create something which is not an adventure or sports tourer or naked, it is almost like they have forgot other styles exist such as cruisers, supermoto, classics etc, people are turning to different brands because they offer choice and value.
Simple answer is no for the weight. They should Atleast liquid cool it by now and make upto 35ps. The answer to justify the poor specs- heritage, retro , old school, charm etc .
I travelled across Russia on a Ural 1100 kilometers, when I reached the destination, the guy who owned the outfit, had a quick sleep, a small meal and a cup of tea with a shot of Vodka and went back 1100 kilometres back to St Petersburg. I'd never doubt how good those bikes are.
I really wish they would bring back the 500 with about 45hp. I would own one.
Don't know about bullet but they're bringing classic 650.
difficult to get a 500cc with 45 hp with an air cooled engine
@@abhishekpanchal4871 yes....excited about it, but Royal Enfield is taking forever.

The 500 never had 45 bhp. But 27.7 something. New models of 650cc have 40 something bhp.
Shame TH-cam f'd up the encoding in a few spots. It is a nice bike. I like the looks and sound. Price is good too.

either he did this deliberately or has no idea what an RE is
Totally the wrong guy to review this sort of old school bike, a complete waste of an interview opportunity... :(
Great demonstration of how not to ride this bike. You seem to have totally missed the point.

In the future I think I will just watch reviews from people who know how to ride motorcycles and have a decent knowledge of them.
The mirrors are an easy fix. Bit of locktite. The quality of the upload isn’t an easy fix though. Sorry.

That weight is inexcusable.

The bike is robustly built from traditional materials. Steel weighs 7850kg per cubic meter. Go figure it out! That weight is a wet weight and it's totally understandable and very welcome in a world where flimsy plastic bikes are the norm

Yes & Bullet 650 as well.
People say theres little difference between the 350 and 500 but i disagree. My 500 can hold 60mph up a very steep long hill in top gear.
Same with 350

Your helmet camera is set too low. Ride safe.
Shame about the speed limiter. 70 MPH just doesn't get it. Not on the freeways. You will die if you ride at 70, and everyone else is going 85.

20 hp is for lawn mowers. That bike needs 50 hp, for starters. It’s one step up from a Ural 😅

Crazy expensive in the UK.
Back in the 80's you could pick them up for peanuts, which is all they are worth.
Most people adjust and secure the mirrors before they ride a bike.
