    New Fuel Pump Module Assembly from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1AFPU01189
    Combustion engines need three things to operate: fuel, air, and spark. If your fuel pump isn’t delivering the fuel your engine needs, it will run poorly, or not at all. Or, the pump is fine, but your fuel gauge isn’t working. Many modern pumps include an integrated sending unit. Either way, a new engineered to fit fuel pump for TRQ is just what you need. This video shows you how to install a new TRQ fuel pump with integrated sending unit in your 1983-2001 Jeep Cherokee.

    If anyone is confused as to why this looks nothing like their gas tank, it's because the fuel system was completely changed in 1997 with the Cherokee's redesign. The video should be titled "1997-2001", because 1984-1996 models have a different fuel tank and pump, with an external filter and no EVAP System.

      So you’re saying that Cherokees from 1997 to 2001 don’t have an external fuel filter ? Because I have a 99 jeep Cherokee and I don’t see an external fuel filter in mine

    Great video! QUESTION: I bought a MINT CONDITION 1999 xj off an old man with 190,000 miles **** WHEN should I replace pump?? How long do they normally last?? ( I like replacing part within reason before they fail.)

    • @83malibuwagon
      @83malibuwagon ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You replace it when it goes out unless you like wasting money. It could last a year or 15 years

    • @nickmuscolino8724
      @nickmuscolino8724 ปีที่แล้ว

      people say they last like 100k but everyone I know has gotten at least 165k which is what i'm replacing mine at. I would say wait until it shows sign of failure.

      My girlfriend bought a mint 2001 XJ from an old lady with 180,000 miles and the fuel pump is going out. I bought a 1995 YJ in 2005 and it has the original fuel pump, currently have 299,000 miles.

    I would think the 1st thing would be unhook the battery then bleed off the pressure at the Schrader valve on the fuel rail

    I have some issues with this process. First the tank was not drained and flushed or atleast drained and blown out. When she dumps the fuel from the old pump she is also dumping debris from the top of the old pump housing. This new pump filter will be clogged up in a few weeks of driving. Also the gasket and pump can be set completely in place properly by hand using a little white lithium grease. Then the ring will screw on easily by hand to start and I finish with a small pry bar and hammer. No specialty tools are needed. Most likely her gasket isn’t set properly and is lipped inside of the tank making a poor seal. Also using her method can cause the pump itself to separate off its pin spring axis causing issues with the fuel level reading accurately.

  • @MUUKOW3
    @MUUKOW3 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I don't know what that is you are working but it is not a Cherokee . The fuel pump is on the front of the tank and does not require the removal of the tank or brackets to access it.

      All the fuel system stuff changed in 1997 with the redesign, this video should be titled "1997-2001.." because the older 1984-1996 models have a completely different fuel tank. They're working on a 2000 model in this video
