I'm 72 now. I have found this to be sooo true. We must be risk takers. We must be willing to be uncomfortable. Seek Jesus. Ask Him into your life and to lead you.

A strong voice of reason and good sense. He thinks things through. He has compassion for his fellow man, and gives sound advice. We accept too little of ourselves is the message I get, and if so, he is right. We are more than who we have become. We make excuses instead of being responsible for our actions and inactions. We say "no", when we can just as easily say YES, I can, and YES, I will try, then do it. What comes, comes, but at least we tried, we learned something about ourselves, and, hopefully, we didn't give up.
It's not about changing the world. It's about changing ourselves, and helping each other to do the same. A big shout-out for Jordan Peterson.
Faith without works is dead. A compassionate and knowledgeable Apostle of Jesus or God said this. So, I'd say Mr. Peterson has a lawful and credible peer reviewed paper for support for what he shares. We really do not need any other support. We just need to read it and be thoughtful and thankful of what is given within and without. Amen!

Disciplining oneself is one of the most valuable skills we can cultivate in life. It's about taking control of our thoughts and actions, and making choices that align with our goals and values. For me, disciplining myself means staying focused on my priorities, setting clear boundaries, and staying accountable for my actions. It requires a lot of hard work and self-awareness, but the rewards are well worth it. With discipline, I'm able to achieve more than I ever thought possible and create the life I want for myself.

@@Tommy_38 thank you, I do I had a trauma removal session yesterday.
      Unbelievable.
I’m a totally different person, they removed the emotional connection to my trauma’s so now when I think or speak about them I feel nothing at all, I’ve got all the horrible memories as you can’t remove a memory, but you can remove the emotional attachment, that has stopped the chaos and the trapped feeling.
I’ve never ever known what it’s like not to feel like this because from the age of 9 when my most traumatic experience happened every other trauma since then has attached to that. So it’s all one big mess. Rather than them been separate, but I found out I have 4 of the most complex PTSD disorders that are known to the psychological area of science, but as it should be impossible for me to have 4 of any.
Because PTSD can only be in one personality,
But because I have a complex split personality disorder, with a positive 14 separate personalities so far, that it’s not possible as yet to no which personality has which one because my personality disorder, I can change my own personality when I’m having a conversation, my own words can cause the flip.
My other therapist I see a hour a week at a trauma clinic, see has seen 5 in one hour, never seen the same personality come to the sessions.
But no I’ve had the trauma removal. My heads just empty. Where as I had absolute chaos to the point where I’m not kidding when I say I just want to blow the pain out my head, not blow my head off.
      But thank you 👊🏼

Jordan Peterson, if your reading this I just want to thank you so much for the help you have given me.
I'm a Christian man, and have been all my life. I go to church to find the answers to my questions and struggles. Sometimes they have the answers and sometimes not. I've been told before to have faith in god he has the answers. So I wonder how do I fix the problem or improve or get past this struggle. I need more than just "Have faith in god, he has the answers." When I listen to you I get answers to my questions.
So this leads me to believing God has put you in my path. To help me through some of the struggles that I face.
Now, I thank God for blessing us with your lessons.

We need more of a practical Christianityin cburches sometime. So I hope we will get there. Lets the the ones to bring about this change.

Your doctor might say there is nothing you can do about it.
      But try this
Get rid of all the carbs in your diet
      No sugar, bread,pasta,cereals,grains.
So basically anything that spikes your blood glucose levels.
Don't eat snacks all day long, eat 2 meals a day max.
Try intermittent fasting, it can do miracles.
Eat wholesome animal foods like meat, liver, eggs, fish, butter.Lots of animal fats)
Drink lots and lots of raw milk.(very important)
      Don't eat too much fruit.
Take ginkgo biloba supplement for improving blood circulation to your deepest tissues in your body. It will start working after 4 weeks.
      Take cod liver oil
      Olive oil
Try jogging or running to improve your blood circulation.
      Please try it,
      Might save your eyes.
Wish you all the best and good luck.

I lost my eyesight due to 6th and 4th cranial nerve palsy. I was blind for 29 days. Playing lego with my 3 year old son, pretending I can see, and there is nothing wrong was the hardest thing in my life. Then slowly, first day for 15 minutes, than 20 day by day my vision came back.

"Dr. Peterson's words resonate deeply, reminding us of the innate human capacity for growth, struggle, and self-improvement. The concept of comparing oneself to who they were yesterday, rather than others, is such a profound and empowering perspective. In a world where we're constantly bombarded by the successes of others, focusing on our own journey, growth, and responsibilities is truly the path to a fulfilling life. Life isn't about avoiding challenges but contending with them, getting stronger, and finding meaning.🌱 #PersonalGrowth #ContendWithReality"

This speech has left me speechless. Absolutely beautiful, and absolutely TRUE! Important, meaningful and truthful message.
    And I've definitely tried to keep in mind 2 rules mentioned here;
    Firstly:
To be better than yesterday, no matter how small the step, as long as it's better than yesterday. And I'm going to be honest, it doesn't always work out. But that's ok, that's life! But what's IMPORTANT is to try to be at least better again tomorrow, or even later on the SAME DAY.
    Secondly:
Try to look for the things, the bad habits that you could try to change for the better. And VERY importantly, don't get offended of all the criticism that comes out, because sometimes, most of the time even, you could learn something about it. Something about yourself that you could improve, instead of getting defensive and get offended about it.
Improvement is important, I think it's CRUCIAL for humanity.
Thank you for reading, even if you just took a small glance of my message. It was important for me to write and open up about this.
Wishing you all a great week!

This new image of the anti-liberal is far from Eisenhower and the Marlboro man, who rose above the liberals by not engaging with them in their whining. Instead, we have these people who whine and complain and cheer on fools like Trump. And are just victims of liberals, claiming they get treated so unfairly. Rise above it.

Wooow.. this was so significant...and I can tell how much Jordan's speech was affecting him at times, the one where he was talking about his daughter's condition... he has clearly been through a lot, which has given him the clarity and perceptiveness to speak on such things, to try to deal with life as best as we can. To see the beauty in it despite the pain. A comprehensive view, not denying any part of life. As Edgar Allen Poe says, "there is no real beauty without some strangeness in the proportion."

Thanks Mr. Peterson for being something like a father-person to me. I´ve never had a dad and there was no grown up man who could tell me how to live or how to be successful etc... It´s not easy to find a way into the future by yourself alone, without a dad or grandfather or some other older man. There were only men, which were abusers and psychopaths, so I´ve learned how NOT to be as a man, but nobody could show me in real life how to be a good disciplined man. Thanks again to Jordan Peterson for motivating young guys like me, in the middle 20s, showing all these opportunities and opening our eyes.

I love you JP! Not that intelligence makes a person better than the other, that said, this man is on a whole other intellectual level, and it's appreciated very much

I must have watched this damn video 30-40 times by now.
I did it. Finally. It beat the hell out of my mind and it felt like I lost a part of me - but I finally left my dead end career. Got accepted to school and going into healthcare. I’m 30. I’m embarrassed to start over, but by some grace, I finally am beginning to respect myself. It’s never too late. Don’t you dare give up.

In my experience of the self improvement journey the number 1 rule to get the wheels turning is SELF-RESPECT or SELF-LOVE. whatever you want to call it but every part of yourself has to work together since beating yourself up mentally over insecurities is literally keeping you huddled in a shell created by yourself. Just like a tortoise when it's afraid it tucks itself inside and it's can't go anywhere like that. Only when it's confident and secure will it come out of the shell and get to where it needs to go.

I just look back and tell me that since 2,4,6,8 years, i totally changed, my mindset changed a lot, through the days, the months, the years. But the hardest, is that i always compared my self to the others and never have been really proud to what I could engage, socially, physically, ... I'm 20, 4 months, and i just realise today that all this overthinking was useless, that I could've changed sooner, better, or at least, hold the good actions i was engaging. That is what really kills me, the feeling of always going off-road of the good tracks, the right tracks, and always going back to the main track that my mind created, the track where I do nothing, and where i keep looking in the mirror, the days passing by aside the road.
I always tell me that tomorrow i'll be a better person, but my demons of my 10yo mindset still pursue me 10 years after and that my "adult" angel can't beat them.
I've started to do my "dream job", truck driver, okay, maybe not crazy, but that was the job I wanted to do. But. Discovered, that the number of tracks were infinite. Sadly, the dream is often just simply felt with a sunrise or a sunset, but sometimes, it's rough man, I just tell myself, what the fuck I'm doing here, why the fucking hell I never been more patient and worked harder, do the right choices, why the fucking hell I'm here at this right moment. Why the fuck i keep going on Internet at almost 4AM and ending on motivation videos? Why I just don't take care of my health, take time for me. Why don't I just read a book, use Internet for useful life? Find a goal, short-term,medium,long, idk. I'm like washed up.
I wanted to say that Covid killed my progress, I was at highschool, with a good friend who wants to be a really great soldier in special units, doing push ups, pull ups, squats, shit like that in highschool, and suddendly, ... STUCK AT HOME? WHERE MY DEMONS OFFER ME DIVERTISSMENT? Like, hell man, rough rough time, my whole life, overthinked for months and months.
Maybe the key is to think that not tomorrow, not the next week, not the next month, not the next year, I'll be a better person, do something meaningful, open more myself to the others, listen more and more and more? Read more and more?
But. Maybe that is right now. Next seconds.
    Life is crazy man.

Dude I was in the same place as you, I've gotten a little better but I'm still struggling. I turn 21 in a couple months and I'm just going with the flow, no real dreams or goals. Like your friend I enlisted in the Army with the aspirations of being selected for a SOF unit. Long story short I didn't make it. Just take a wild guess what I thought when I got dropped from the selection program. Was is anger? Sadness? Disappointment? No, I felt relieved. Relieved that I didn't have to wake up at 5 in the fucking morning and run 8 miles. Then take a fucking 2 minute shower and change into my dirty sweaty clothes from yesterday because all the washing machines were broken. Then get physically and mentally beat down by the cadre for hours. Relieved that my every action and inaction wasn't being observed and evaluated by both my peers and leaders. And above all else wake up and do it again tomorrow.
That was then. Now, well over a year later I wonder why I didn't try harder, why I failed, why I didn't make it like my friends did. I was physically superior than about half of the other candidates but I wasn't there mentally. I didn't want it bad enough. I've thought though this over and over again for atleast a year now. I know what I did wrong and I could go back in a couple months if I wanted too but I don't. I don't know if it's because I'm disillusioned or if I'm too comfortable where I am now.
Lately I've been forcing myself to go to the gym even though I had a bad day. Even though I have to wake up at 6 a.m tomorrow and run 5 miles(still better than 8). Like you I'm still struggling with staying off my phone late into the night. I know I'm fucking myself over, I mean shit, I gotta wake up in 7 hours and I'm sore as fuck. I probably won't even fall asleep for another 2 hours even though I know I need it. Not to mention my addiction to cigarettes either. But anyways I digress.
What I'm trying to say is actually make an effort to follow this video. Take the action to be better today. I sincerely hope this doesn't come off as me lecturing you, I'm just writing what comes to mind. It might be a bit discombobulated but I dont normally talk about this kind of shit. I originally didn't even start this comment with the intention of giving advice.
I'll leave you with what I've improved on in the last month by making the conscious decision to improve myself everyday.
•I've cut down the amount of cigarettes I smoke a day from half a pack to just 2. It will be zero by the end of this month.
•I've also stopped drinking entirely when 2 months ago I was getting near blackout drunk every weekend.(Currently stationed in Europe where the legal drinking age it 18, which my unit allows.)
•I developed short term and intermediate goals and actually wrote them down instead of just wishing they would happen.
•Put on 8lbs of muscle and broke the plateau on my bench press.
•And finally I got something form this video. The quote, "It's a luxury to pursue what you love. It's a moral obligation to pursue what you find meaningful." helped me to make the final decision on my long term goal. I've been playing around with the idea of going to medical school after my service. I know it's going to be extremely difficult, much harder than what I'm doing right now. But I think the idea of saving lives is meaningful to me.
Anyways I hope this helps you but I'm not gonna lie, this was more for me than anything. Goodluck, I wish you the best.

@@heispeed3517 Our body can be tough, but the mental, is what keep holding the stiffness. Just enjoying the end of the summer. Not that much stress, pretty good vibes. Should be good to finish that last year of school. Writing down things is hard, but it puts a clear vision on what is really meanful to us, I should start writing.
Realized that often, people around us would notice before us what we improved on and what changed. It feels great when people notice some details on ourselves, it gives you motivation to keep going, but also it is great to feel proud about being useful and to work cleanly.
Like you, I pretty let the flow going on, see what happen, the opportunities,... Wanting to see to far into the future makes me overthink and overthink makes me sad. But sometimes i'm just ok with what the world and my person could become. There's always a chance to bounce off a bad situation. That's what I tell myself ! :)
Wish you the best man, you've already made big progress! Land of personal success is just in front of you. Keep going ! :D

I am grateful to live in the time of Jordan Peterson, he isn't perfect in fact he is flawed but that's what makes him special. He encourages people to gradually shed the flaws in our lives and work on building a healthier disciplined lifestyle. It works for me and I hope it works for you too!

Not everyone wants to be disciplined and haven't got the motivation to want to change and be better .
Only when your unhappy would you notice your only competing with yourself not others.
And to radiate better and get better results all revolves around setting the bar higher for yourself .
To grow more as a human
