Brett, Great video !!! Thanks for the trip back home. So sad to hear, they are closing. The 1990 movie State Of Grace, was loosely based on The Westies and had a scene based on the meeting at Tommaso's. Keep up the great content !!!!

Awesome video, I'd say one of your best from a historical standpoint!! I've always wanted to go to Tommaso's for the history! Sad that many of the "newer" people in that area walk right past there everyday completely oblivious to the legendary status of the restaurant and surrounding area!
Update: I visted NYC labor day weekend and had dinner at Tommaso's with some friends. We sat right across from the piano. Also went inside the secret meeting room right off the bathroom! Very cool experience indeed! Glad I got to go before they close for good.
Brett all I can say is awesome!!! Some of your best work , I've always wanted to go to tomassos just for the nostalgia and history and I knew you'd touch on veterans and friends. Just so much history with those locations and I can't even imagine the vibes you were feeling. I'm curious how much that location has changed since the late 70s or if it's still the same as it was. Amazing job as always my man. After a awful day work this put a smile on my face. Thanks bro. 😊
Yay! Another walk 'n talk & a gorgeous summer day for it too! Good to see ya again Brett. Wow, so Tommaso's is closing after all these years. I never got a chance to try that spot. Glad you got to sample it though. Mr. Softee popping up in the vid! 🤣🍦Super hot cherry red Chevelle SS. 🔥
We just had a gathering on 86st on June 1st. Every time i go back to DH, (usually for Tomassos) it sickens me to see what its become. My friend did pick up his Regal, the day a Buick went 💣
Another excellent video my friend. Ninno Gaggi was also there and one of the Vesties later wrote how Ninno told them about the food in the restaurant and how good some meals are. It makes perfect sense since this at the time when Ninno Gaggi was so close to Big Paul. Keep up the good work my friend and we love the content!!!
I've never been to YN and likely never will, but if you put me in a car, I could drive you from Castellano House to Spark Steakhouse, then to Tails, Gamini Lounge, Wimpy Boys, and beyond without ever needing to look at Google Maps! I absolutely love these videos. They truly capture the essence of the streets, the atmosphere-they bring any story to life with vibrant color and rich detail. Greetings from Serbia!
Thank you for this informative video! As both a Brooklynite and mob historian this is a very important documentary on an important event in organized crime and Brooklyn history. A job well done my friend!
This is great, I'm a ' Mafia History' buff so this works out great seeing places that I have read about. I first read about Tommaso's and the social club from two books: 'The Westies' and the 'Murder Machine'. Great job.
very cool... I wish I could of seen this place before it was gone. We tried to go last time I was in New York. We went to Brooklyn instead to see where the Gemini Lounge used to be.
Hahaha!! Obviously we have Lolly ice van’s same as you over the pond but ours always turn into the street playing something coherent like, Edward Elgar, Blake or something similar that everyone who’s British can at least hum the next bar to if not name and sing the lyrics too but I notice that you often don’t have any Vans that play anything known…. Might be a copyright thing actually, I hadn’t thought about that until I was halfway through this comment.. anyway I doubt anyone has any interest whatsoever in the aural accompaniment of kids refreshments vans so I’m just going to hope Prongee was a true one off and say thanks again for the comment Anthony and the upload NYC 🗽🇬🇧👏📚🏴
