Man, if there's anything I appreciate about Pocket Camp, it's that it gave each villager a unique description and a unique "special request" furniture for that villager. Yeah, it's a small thing to point out, but I like it when the Animal Crossing games try to flesh out villagers and differentiate them from one another. Edit: For example, here's Erik's description: "Folks are always mistaking Erik for the famous reindeer, Jingle. He usually doesn't mind the mix-up, except in the wintertime when people are always asking for stuff." His special request item is, amusingly, a Yule log, a type of chocolate cake that's often served during the Christmas season.
People’s campsites, outfits, campers and cabins become really nutty once you get past level 150, maybe 200. It’s either they change things 24/7 and have a beautiful thought out place. Or somehow haven’t done anything
Yeah, it’s when you have really spent a lot of time already and have been able to grind for lots of stuff and went through multiple different events too so you really have lots of stuff. Also, you’ve probably got the game flow to a tea at that time, you know how to do everything and also the best way for you to do it, which obviously you don’t understand at first (like collecting everything you see every time helps SO much, you have to basically think ahead). This has been my first AC game, and now I’ve had two islands on my Switch that I bought after a year of playing everyday on PocketCamp, and yesterday I started my city on New Leaf cause my friends gifted me a 3DS seeing how passionate I have become. This game is really gimmicky and stuff, but it has such a sweet spot for me 🥹
I’m level 268 and tried to fit as much stuff as I liked as possible into my campsite while also making it so you could walk through the whole area 😭 I’m at the furniture limit for how much you can place
It’s me I haven’t done a thing, I just really like the pieces I have even though they’re terribly mismatched and clearly my little guys at camp don’t mind lol
Pocket Camp has a special place in my heart, because when in 2020 I got to know the AC franchise, I couldn't afford a Switch so it was my only way to play anything related to Animal Crossing. I personally think it's a good game, it just can get boring quickly.
this is so relatable I didn’t have a switch but the Animal Crossing hype was rising and since I had tried out Pocket Camp back when it first came out and quit I thought I’d try it again. Then I got New Leaf (already had a 3DS) and continued to play both
I started the game in mid-October, to try it before it ends and I have enjoyed it. It seems like you didn’t read a lot of the dialogue or pop ups, which explains why you got a lot of things wrong about the game or didn’t understand things. The goal of the game is to meet new villagers and invite them to your campsite, just letting them go there immediately would eliminate a big part of the game. The villagers aren’t on a time limit to level up that you have to pay to extend, each has a handful of tasks you can do, but the villagers at each site change every 3 hours. Once they appear you have that time frame to complete the tasks they give, but you can still craft the requested items to invite them to camp after the villagers leave. Edit: The free trial was for a subscription that would renew after it ended, it was for a month but they discontinued it at the end of October. Expanding your camper costs bells and you can get loans to do that. They explain that when you go to OK Motors. I disagree on your point of this not feeling like an AC game. The console games have a ton of daily limits and time gates with moving in new villagers or building new things. The difference is these gates are on crafting items. The game focuses more on the villagers than your town and by doing their requests I have leveled up, gotten new crafting items, and not spent any money to design a campsite I really like.
Whew! I got so frustrated watching this. The way he kept running past the gyroidites instead of picking them up and crafting the items. If you don’t know what to do with them, google it. And then using leaf tickets instead of waiting 17 minutes for something to craft. 😂 Don’t shit talk the game because you can’t figure it out.
ur supposed to play the game in short bursts every few hours. if you play it like that, the wait for things doesn't really matter. also, friends can send you gifts that contain fortune cookies so you don't have to spend money on them. using the gulliver island feature you can also get a bunch of items and new villagers for free
38:35 I disagree, that's the entire point of the events. That's when you get cool furniture and clothes. That's the grind. Yes, there are also cookies, but most of the time you can get them in friend's gifts or when they put them for sale. I rarely bought cookies because I always saved my leaf tickets for campsite backgrounds, and I have a lot of nice furniture
my method with cookies was to make sure that they were nearing the end of their time slot and had multiple items I’d be ok with getting then only buy 1 maybe 2. If there was a special cookie being sold for bells that day I’d get it no matter the type. Even if I didn’t get everything I wanted, I got quite a lot of good furniture/clothes
24:20 Definitely spending leaf tickets on more crafting slots. I can’t imagine putting myself through the torture of crafting one item at a time, especially when some of them have a waiting period of 24 hours or more. While this may seem disadvantageous to a new player, you’ll earn ten leaf tickets each time you level up which is fairly easy to do in the lower levels.
Pocket Camp has a special place in my heart. I didn’t have New Horizons when it came out, so years ago this was the next best thing. Other than Goldie- Bam, Tia, Diana, and Curt were the true OGs that I grinded to imprison, and absolutely adored episode plot lines I’d makeup in my head for them. For my first Animal Crossing game, this camp was truly something I took care of. Hated how much patience it took to grind for maybe 2 pieces of ant legs tho. I’m now grown up with money, so I’ve gotten to play NH and the older games- making sure for NH I’d hunt for my same OGs. So cut to now downloading PC again brings back so much nostalgia for me 😭 will be getting PC Complete so I have them with me forever 🫶🏽
Same, my first villager was Apollo for any event I would always give Apollo my gift because he was my favorite. I would always play and trade with my grandma and we would trade fruits and fish and stuff. I did not even have a switch when NH released but I have sense gotten it with NH. I am still not grown up with grownup money but I have already pre ordered the complete edition and gotten my grandma to do it to. Can’t wait to make many more memories with this version but Wow is it sad to see it go.
oh I was gonna comment that they were gutting the social aspect and it's locked to single player, but either I was incorrect, or they went back on it. Went from a maybe purchase to a definite purchase now since it seems like a genuinely better version of the game.
Wasting your money on the cookies is wild. You aren't doing the daily grind; you're trying to speed run a long run game. Been playing off and on for years. I adore this app, and have no subscriptions. If you get into the new game, take it slow. Focus on the relationships, the rest comes along the way.
The best time to start playing pocket camp is yesterday 😭 because of the events. The year-round items are limited and kinda lame. DONT IGNORE the events, the items are free through goals, and they’re usually cooler than the default ones. At first you have to grind a lot but then it gets easier. The game is not pay-to-play but things like fortune cookies costing 50 leaf tickets, does make it frustrating. i wish you didn’t go in blind and asked some ACPC players first cause we would help you and give you gifts that can give resources, animal food to level up animals and fortune cookies.
I started playing Pocket Camp last year, and I regret not playing sooner... I'd love to have all the Pokémon stuff and Mario stuff! Great video Elijah!
I saw someone in an Eevee onesie in game and I was flabbergasted I had no idea there’d been a Pokémon event previously 😭 I did get a bunch of Sanrio items during their event and like a few Splatoon items when they were reissued
Pocket Camp will always have a special place in my heart. Really made up for the time I couldn't get New Horizons on my Switch. It was always fun to play and I appreciated the descriptions each villager had. It really added to the game and i always appreciate little details like that. The events always had nice furniture and the fortune cookies were always a treat to get when I had the leaf tickets for them. I'm sure gonna miss it. (Yes, I know it's not going to be completely gone, i just probably won't spend money on it when it rereleases.) Also, shout out to my 7th grade self who started crying because she thought she was locked out of her account forever. I just needed space for the download. ( -_-)
Please play complete!! It's so easy to get leaf tokens and all the expensive things now. And you can speed up crafting through Cyrus so that won't drive you crazy anymore😂
PC furniture and clothing are really awesome, which is why there's a decent chunk of us who are disheartened that it wasn't in NH. Hopefully they'll be in some other games someday! As for leaf tickets and crafting slots, you definitely do want to buy the crafting slots!! Very much worth the tickets, which can be decently easy to regain if you get lots of leaf ticket maps, and send friend requests to just about everyone you see so you get friend powder. There isn't any sort of messaging system in the game, so the friends feature is purely just there for resources. Also, the events have the best items, so you definitely want to participate!! They're also usually tied to the season, so around Halloween there's spookier themes, and around Toy Day there's more winter and Christmas items. Leaf tickets can also be used to purchase items from the crafting catalogue, as in something available for a limited time that costs leaf tickets but is instantly delivered. There's some really nice ones; my favorite one I've gotten is Celeste's Cafe Table, which allows her to sit in my campsite! I also am really fond of my iridescent wings that I'm usually running around wearing. And the friendship levels have little milestones that will let you choose what a villager wears at your campsite, learn a crafting recipe they have access to, and get their picture! After that it's just a resource called sparkle stones though, so there isn't much of a point in trying to grind their level after 20.
"It's not like I have a loan to pay off" but you have a loan, you have to pay off your camper 😂 That aside, where I'm currently at in my life, the playstyle of PC is better suited for me than NH. I don't have the time to sit down and play on my switch, but I can enjoy PC in short bursts. I check it while having breakfast, then I go to work and find a quiet minute there and enough time passed so that waiting for any crafting is not an issue. And sometimes I craft smth that takes hours, forget about it and then the next day it's a nice surprise when it's finished. And I'm also super stingy so I managed to play without ever paying for it 🤩
I had a trashy phone few years back. I wanted to download Pocket Camp real bad but it said it wasn't supporting my phones version anymore. Now I have a S24 Ultra but I already had lost interest in the game. And now they're shutting down. Maybe in near future I will play again, if it will be not so overwhelming
what do you mean? OG pocket camp offered subscription models, yes, but they were by no means forced. the new game is a one time purchase, same as you would buy any other game, not a subscription
@@furbiefriend sorry i just think that he got the information wrong on the video, he said that people would have to make subscription to play the new version
I saw 3 paragraph comments talking about starting Pocket Camp when New Horizons came out bc they couldn’t afford it and had to do a double take bc I almost thought they were the same comment 💀 glad that’s a relatable experience bc I too can relate
I also played a pic for first time during some of month of November and spent zero money yet had a good time. I played with my 6 Nintendo accounts! I did not know if I’d like it and I wanted the ending gifts etc so this was my experiment…my theory is some game experiences are LUCKIER than others… about 4 of my 6 were Lucky with fortune cookies and gifts and I did get the hang of the grind which was very simplified compared to main games…. I enjoyed ACPC bc of the variety of villagers and not keeping them…. From the start your attitude about ACPC and not being lucky kept coloring your view…. I got Brewster 300 leaf tix and got him easy with all leaf rewards that were going on during the monthly campsite rewards for flower growing in the other lucky one it was Labelle with a snowflake tree AND Tom nook in a director chair which looks hilarious I’m confident all these will be easier to get in the new complete that are special … Brewster interacts and makes me a coffee outside of his cafe that is very neat… I have zero ACPC experience before nov 2024 and only played acnh a lot
This was my first animal crossing game and I was SUPER surprised you didn't need to buy things in the main series game to lure people to your island! It seems like such an obvious mechanic so you can slow rarer villagers from being able to be on your island. also was super sad you can't just kick people out and force people not to just move in willy nilly.
I ended up playing this game for the first 2 years of release, I played it with two of my friends before new horizons came out and after that they both dropped it-- I thought it was rather cute and fun once you got yourself settled into it? I don't think I ever spent more than 30$ on the game but its one of two mobile games I've ever put money into and probably the mobile game I stuck with the longest too. Glad I found out about this so I could go take one final look
I downloaded the game when it came out and stopped as well after a few days because the same reason you described on this video. I also came back to the game after they announced the memorial tree so around two weeks ago... All I can say is that I can't wait for the complete version.... I love how you said that the cookie system feels like sacam and I agree 💯 percent, especially since I did fell for the trap of using real money a few times now :/ Again, I can't wait to play Complete instead. Also, this is my first time leaving a comment so I want to add that I love your videos and I always click right away when I see them. PS. Don't forget to log in and claim the memorial tree that will transfer to Complete
I really miss this game. Sure I tried the new one and I got to finish my city which I never got to do in the original, but I'll still miss features like the friend feature. Rest in peace animal crossing pocket camp🕊️ (Also I realize you picked the hair my villager has 🤣)
I love pocket camp - I know it's dull compared to other games - but since my family has never had much money, i've never had a ds and only now that i'm an adult with my own money i bought a switch, but i still can't afford new horizons lmao. I've been playing acpc since it came out and it has become a part of my everyday life, I can't express how much this game means to me. I felt so bad when they announced it was shutting down, but the new game seems promising c:
The video itself was fine but that was tough to watch. The game was meant to be played in micro-spurts. It’s no wonder you couldn’t enjoy it. Trying to rush it all in a week meant you played it completely wrong. Playing it correctly, you can earn plenty of tickets, cookies, and items from the events.

Thanks for reminding me to play this tonight. This game got me into animal crossing because I thought it looked interesting but, was afraid to spend money on a game I may not like. Now I also got new horizons and new leaf. Seeing him miss that rare cookie on day 1 hurt me. I like checking if I got any rare cookies for only 5,000 bells rather than 50 leaf tickets. But I do understand how overwhelming it can be sometimes in mobile games. I redownloaded pokemon go and was spammed with so many things.
This made me beyond sad this video came up just yesterday I just picked up pocket camp complete now I'm sad I had some really nice friends and people I met in pocket camp that I didn't get to say bye too or buy out their shopping boxes 😂 it's rough seeing this go but glad it's still available offline
Ive always wanted to play the actual animal crossing but my mom said it was boring and never got it, this was the closest i could get and my mom said she wouldn't buy the new one for me
I dont like the monthly slogs. The way they prey on FoMo is just outragous theres no wiggleroom AT ALL. You miss a few dohickies and thats IT no special 1000 ticket worth item for you!
I feel like their actually gonna kill their game due to how many free to play players they have in the game Would of been smarter to just make a paid game separately from the free game
The point of this new game is that they are phasing out updates and online support. They wanted to make a no wifi needed game and have announced that they plan on no new updates after 2025. They don’t care about the money or the player retention. Honestly the only reason they’re even making the new game is because the existing pocket camp players put ALOT of money into the game and they don’t want to deal with the backlash they will get from fully deleting the game.
@@amazingnobodyleeIt’s mostly offline. You can connect to the internet for the social feature they have. But you’re supposed to be able to play fully offline (besides the occasional update) if you want to.

I got Brewster 300 leaf tix and got him easy with all leaf rewards that were going on during the monthly campsite rewards for flower growing in the other lucky one it was Labelle with a snowflake tree AND Tom nook in a director chair which looks hilarious
I’m confident all these will be easier to get in the new complete that are special … Brewster interacts and makes me a coffee outside of his cafe that is very neat… I have zero ACPC experience before nov 2024 and only played acnh a lot
I remember there was a gift of 100,000 bells in with the bells that they gave out for players I ended up paying off my entire loan of my RV
I also loved pocket camp and never used any money in it. SO the main series cost WAY MORE for me.
New gen animal crossing players not beating the “noob” allegations I see
It’s addictive and without spending a penny, I’ve managed to progress fairly quickly.
Glad I found out about this so I could go take one final look
its a $10 one time fee or $20 after a certain period of time (early bird special basically)
@@feIon OHHH I misunderstood completely then oops, thank you for the clarification! That makes a lot more sense c:
Complete is doing good so far btw!
Pocket Camp is the only way to play Animal Crossing for me at the moment, even though is repetitive, the fortune cookies and the events are engaging
You dint notice but you could also get more leaf tickets just for leveling up
I downloaded the game when it came out and stopped as well after a few days because the same reason you described on this video.
I also came back to the game after they announced the memorial tree so around two weeks ago... All I can say is that I can't wait for the complete version....
I love how you said that the cookie system feels like sacam and I agree 💯 percent, especially since I did fell for the trap of using real money a few times now :/
Again, I can't wait to play Complete instead.
Rest in peace animal crossing pocket camp🕊️ (Also I realize you picked the hair my villager has 🤣)
I think the hair style he chose is the messy hair/bed head 😂
I love pocket camp - I know it's dull compared to other games - but since my family has never had much money, i've never had a ds and only now that i'm an adult with my own money i bought a switch, but i still can't afford new horizons lmao.
I've been playing acpc since it came out and it has become a part of my everyday life, I can't express how much this game means to me. I felt so bad when they announced it was shutting down, but the new game seems promising c:
" their inventory definitely looks like a Kmart going out of business..." Hahaha. You got a literal lol out of me on that one
COME ON MAN PUT ON THE DRESS
The video itself was fine but that was tough to watch. The game was meant to be played in micro-spurts. It’s no wonder you couldn’t enjoy it. Trying to rush it all in a week meant you played it completely wrong. Playing it correctly, you can earn plenty of tickets, cookies, and items from the events.
cant wait for the Complete edition, i feel like i missed out on so much
You didn’t eat some of your cookies in your inventory.
It was fun watching your spiral into mobile game madness
Pocket camp: goes paid offline
Apk community: just like taking candy from a baby, wich is fine by me
-shadow the hedgehog 😂
my favorite thing about it is decorating my camp and changing my outfit. I took a long break for a few years and came back .
Maybe the true pocket camps were the animals we crossed along the way
1:54 Finally, edgy teen in the 2000s culture
1:55 Ooh, even more 2000s culture (no, 2020, you don't get to claim messy hairstyles)
2:01 Cockatiel representation
2:08 How I imagine people who went to private school
2:16 My hair 0.00001 seconds after brushing it
Hope we see another video when the new version release.
This game was my CHILDHOOD when I couldn’t play acnh, it’s so charming imo.
Try new leaf, it's older but quite fun.
You should do compleat
I wish the furniture items and hairstyles were in New Horizons 😭
Ive always wanted to play the actual animal crossing but my mom said it was boring and never got it, this was the closest i could get and my mom said she wouldn't buy the new one for me
rip Animal crossing pocket camp 2017-2024 You will be missed
I wish I didn’t loose interest in the game near the end of it. I hope the new one is better
15:11 literally the same thing I ended up doing when I got back into the game a few weeks ago (although I ended up using a slightly different design)
3:06 hey my name is Elijah too!
I’ll gladly take the witchy stuff you don’t want
OK, first The Simpsons Tapped Out is announced to be shutting down next year and now Animal Crossing Pocket Camp?! 😭😭😭😭😭
I dont like the monthly slogs. The way they prey on FoMo is just outragous theres no wiggleroom AT ALL. You miss a few dohickies and thats IT no special 1000 ticket worth item for you!
Question, is the New Leaf 365 days video still being made? I’m just curious :3
What Happened Whille i was Gone- Your Content is amazing Elijah- 😭🙏
I'm also playing the game too before the shut down.
R.I.P Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp 2017-2024
I'm waiting till payday to buy my oldest pocket camp, she had it before it was pay walled
What is everyone’s level in PC? I’m around 350 ish. I’m just curious.
Freya phase is uff-da?😂
Please try the new one!!
I totally forgot that you had to wait when you’re crafting. Honestly I wasn’t about to play the new game if I had to downgrade
I believe coelecanth is pronounced kinda like see-luh-canth!!!!!
(Sorry if I spelt it wrong
R.I.P Animal crossing pocket camp
It’d be nice if we got mouth and nose customization in Pocket Camp Complete
It's my first animal crossing game. I to sad to watch it
i miss pocket camp
Hey can you do 100 days animal crossing new horizons DTW I love all your videos
I'm playing this game for the first time for a video too. And things are so hard to get around if your a free to play player
It's about to shut down NOW
He says it will be rough to play this for 7 days even though he played other animal crossing games for 100 days
I feel like their actually gonna kill their game due to how many free to play players they have in the game
Would of been smarter to just make a paid game separately from the free game
The point of this new game is that they are phasing out updates and online support. They wanted to make a no wifi needed game and have announced that they plan on no new updates after 2025. They don’t care about the money or the player retention. Honestly the only reason they’re even making the new game is because the existing pocket camp players put ALOT of money into the game and they don’t want to deal with the backlash they will get from fully deleting the game.
Fair point
We actually only have 3 days 🤓☝️
I never even got the chane to play the game. It's not compatible to my phone.
It is on the app store, it looks like a off line version
No it's still the online version offline is animal crossing complete a d will release in december
@@amazingnobodyleeIt’s mostly offline. You can connect to the internet for the social feature they have. But you’re supposed to be able to play fully offline (besides the occasional update) if you want to.
Just as a swift reminder... It's morally acceptable to pirate abandonware...
it isnt abandonware though. theyre continuing past and even new events for the next year
@@feIon I meant the items specifically. No one's stopping you from modding your switch, copying our original game onto the system and just getting the items from someplace else..
@@JayLeeBeanzoh ok
NO WAY I JUST REDOWNLOADED IT 😭😭
coelacanths are seal-a-canths
Coelacanth
