After I did some research I found out the 2015 Ram 2500 with the 6.4 DOES have the MDS system, but it can be turned off. A 2500 equipped with the 5.7 DOES NOT have the MDS system.. I thought this may be helpful.
The waterpump on my 2016 Challenger Scat Pack Shaker gave out with only 5,000 miles on the car 😅. The engine is modified, but the mods didn't cause it to fail. I think it gave out because I don't drive the car enough, so underusage, basically.
@8020Media Definitely way too early 💯. Not as often as I should, lol. So it's not my daily driver it's more so my summertime toy & sees very little mileage due to that. Living in the Northeast, I park it up from November when the city puts the road salt out for snow till April when Spring comes around. I do drive it up & down the levels of the garage during winter & start it up once a week during the winter months, but it's still nowhere near enough exercise for it. Which leads me to believe the waterpump went bad because it doesn't get driven enough. There wasn't any external leaks on the pump so maybe internally the impeller went bad.
Dude... my water pump went out on my brand new Durango SRT after 8k miles! I noticed coolant all over the heat shield, took it in and dealer found it was leaking. Note, I drive it 5k miles a year, so similar patterns to yours.

J - You're not doing anything wrong.. That's a good thing you aren't experiencing any of these issues. Stay on top of maintenance and you should be good.
Never had any of my CDJRs in the shop for anything over 1200 once in the last 15 years. 98 Durango, 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2015 Ram Rebel and 2023 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack
On the 6.4 replace the oil pump with the 6.2 hellcat pump. Direct bolt on and will help with cam oiling at low or idle extended speeds.
J - Thanks for sharing this insight! Will certainly help future viewers.
Good job with all of your explanations. Good or bad, it was detailed and non-discriminatory. Exactly, the type of information I was seeking. Thanks

Z - Thanks for sharing your experience. 5k miles seems like it is WAY too early for that. How often do you drive it?

I have the 6.4 SRT version and I've been experiencing long crank with a warm/hot engine (Cold start is fine) any recommendations?
Andres - This video of ours might be helpful: th-cam.com/video/0YRdzJbHcm4/w-d-xo.html
Would driving the 6.4 on sport mode most of the time minimise issues with MVS (tik)?
Andres - Assuming you meant MDS here?
@@8020Media yes
Andres - So long as Sport Mode disables MDS. But we've seen mixed things on this.

@@8020Media No, what's the BMW behind you?
