The high falsetto vocals are by Eddie Brigati along with his brother, Dave. Dave was originally with Joey Dee and the Starlighters who introduced the Peppermint Twist. They even opened a NYC club called, The Peppermint Lounge. Proud to ay the Brigati brothers grew up in m hometown of Garfield, N.J. Dave was my Sophomore high school sweetheart. Both great talents and sweet guys.

This New Jersey band, started out as The Young Rascals but dropped the Young in 1968. Such a groovy band they also brought us Groovin' and A Beautiful Morning.
This great tune from 1967, has the rhythm track based on The Temptations song " Aint Too Proud to Beg" released in 1966. The vocals, lyrics, the beautiful organ whirling through out all so typical of the great 60's music. This tune made it to Number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100's and Number 7 in Canada. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Imadrummin. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

I've been a Rascals fan since they first started. They were, along with the Righteous Brothers, considered "blue eyed soul" during the 60s. Thank you for doing this song. Sadly, their drummer Dino Dinelli recently passed. I think he was one of the greatest drummers of all time. The organ player, Felix, and guitar player, Gene, still perform together with other musicians. I'd be remiss if I didn't also mention their singer, Eddie Brigati. He doesn't tour with them any longer, but he did a lot of lead vocals for the band, and both he and his brother Dave also did back up for many songs.

I loved the Rascals and was lucky enough to see them live in Hawaii in 1966 (1967?). As a matter of fact, I believed that I belonged on stage with them ... Security disagreed wih me and removed me! 😊 However I took that opportunity to sneak backstage and I succeeded in getting an autograph from each of them!! I, of course, still have that Program booklet with their autographs. Such good times and the best music. Thank you for sharing this ... I love your reaction to the Rascals. God bless you.

The sounds of the 60's borrowed from each other all the time. Why not? The end product was all on the same radio station then. No favoritism.
Well, maybe the Beatles. For instance: "You keep me hanging on" both Supremes AND Vanilla Fudge (and I think, the Temptations)

They had some great hits, originally called The Young Rascals, which they were still called, when I saw them live in 1967 or 1968, at the University of Miami. Unfortunately, they sounded pretty bad, maybe because something was wrong with the audio setup, or they didn't do proper sound checks, or hadn't rehearsed, I don't know. A little while later in that same year I saw The Happenings at the same venue, who had had some cover hits, such as See You in September, and they sounded absolutely fantastic, and the lead vocalist was great.
