1164 Morning Glory Circle is a beautiful home. Very spacious. Watching the show you don't realize how spacious it is. Watching this video you are like WOW!
I always loved this house. It was located next to the house used in Hazel, Gidget, and other tv shows as well as in the movie Divorce American Style and others.
I did virtual tours of this and the Brady Bunch house back in the early 2000’s and posted them on TH-cam, and the viewership was insane. Of course, my piddly little program was nowhere near this advanced or photo realistic. I also did the Golden Girls, which was a LOT of fun to get inside and explore. Please do more of these! I loved the length of this video too, it’s perfect.
Well done. It would be nice to slow the tour down a bit. It would also be nice to see the remolded home of the seventies, Adam's room and the decor. Beautifully done.
Thank you! It's not intended as a tour so much as a quick trailer for the VR experience, which you can download from the link in the comments and explore at leisure.
I think everyone wanted to live in that house, and because it looked like a real house that someone could actually live in made it seem more real like. I love that house also.
Unfortunately in real life the “Bewitched “ house along with the other houses have been torn down to make way for new soundstages. There is video on TH-cam that someone took with a drone showing the Bewitched house being torn down.
I always loved this house. The layout is amazing. Interesting how all the mid-center mfurniture and appliances were kept authentic to the original but the lighting was updated to modern standards lol
The lighting took me weeks to get "right"! It needed to resemble the show, which consisted of several massive overhead floodlights on a set, creating a fairly even near-shadowless appearance. It also had to match the light-level of the outside view. Plus, where will I put all these "lights" I need? Well, it turns-out they did in fact have recessed lighting as far back as the 60s, so I just put a ton of them up until it looked about "right". Then it was days of tweaking to match the show's appearance...
@@vroomspace You did a great job. However, I talked about the recessed lighting because of the style being more modern. Even though recessed lighting was around back then, the 50s-70s versions usually had the bulbs sticking out or a had a light cover or had an adjustable recessed light structure, or was square shaped. The kelvin temperature of the light colors were usually warmer as opposed to the cool light color you have. But this is actually just minor detail. I think you did a great job. I am curious to know your reasoning for choosing that particular interior design as that interior was redesigned at least four times during the tenure of the show. Was that your favorite design or was it more convenient to do?
I go with the idea that Tabitha's bedroom was overtop of Darren's den. While the only guest bedroom was overtop the dining room. Also, that the second floor hallway bath connected between Tabitha's room and the guest bedroom.
@@darrelljustice6105 Tabitha's room is on the opposite side of the house. When you go up the stairs, her room is to the right. Darren's den is downstairs to the left.
Now, it has been confirmed that the beloved home from Bewitched has also been demolished, ironically enough, on Friday, Oct. 13. 2023. Warner Bros. took over the property from Columbia Pictures back in 1990 and is now set to demolish all of the nostalgic homes. 😢
they were very flimsy facades. I'm surprised they left them up for so long. They could easily be rebuilt. The real house that this was modeled after still stands .....
Noooooo!! That was my birthday weekend ! I had just turned 60 that weekend ! 😭 I recently told my husband and best friend that I would love to visit the bewitched house because I was obsessed with it as a child. I’m so upset!!!
Thanks Debby! Yeah, there were several challenges making the interior architecture fit into the exterior. The master bedroom also had a bathroom that would float out over the side yard if I had modeled it. (It's just a closet door now, though I was tempted to make it magically become a bathroom when you're indoors and disappear when you go outside.)
It isn’t shown on tv because it is an elaborate set at Warner Brother’s Ranch in Burbank. The real location has a pool on the other side of the street - the interiors are set pieces not as solid or complete as an actual home
You can do so by downloading the app linked in the credits, and then exploring until your heart's content! If you have a VR headset, you can live inside!
Very cool! When I was a kid and used to watch this show, I always loved this house. When I became more interested in architecture, the one thing I noticed was this was one of the only TV homes were the interior sets very closely mimicked the exterior. So many times we see exterior establishing shots that are so far removed from the interiors that it becomes almost laughable. The Brady Bunch and The Golden Girls are two of the worst offenders. That being said, your video is very nicely done, even down to Darren's Camaro convertible in the driveway!
I agree. The home did originally match inside to outside very well. Unfortunately in Season 7 the kitchen remodeling put a staircase there that seemed to be pointless, as it would seemingly go up to the roof, considering how the eaves come down to the first floor on the outside. Someone noticed that only the first 3 steps are actually there, then the rest of the staircase is just a ladder pattern on the wall behind those steps.
They just tore down the Hollywood version. The home it was modeled after still exist. Built in 1947, you can find it at 267 18th Street in Santa Monica. One difference: the HW lot house was a mirror image of the original.
@@vroomspace LOL me too. Bewitched has always been on of my favorite shows and I love the layout of that house. So I guess I will just have to settle for my Double Wide.
Fitting the sets into the façade was a challenge. It would be where the single-door closet in the master bedroom is, but that space is far too small to actually contain it. If I'd modeled it, it would hang out into space into the neighbors yard!
This is very nice. The design still holds up today. I noticed there don't appear to be any bathrooms. Also I don't remember the exterior of the house as blue. That beautiful brick walkway would be expensive today! I enjoyed this video. Do you have one of the Stone Family's home from the "Donna Reed" show? I'd love to see a video of that or Uncle Bill's apartment from "Family Affair" or "The Jefferson's" apartment.
The house on the Warner Ranch is only a few feet deep, so I was blown away when the point of view went from outside to inside the house. My footage of the façade interior can be seen in my documentary about the WB Ranch: th-cam.com/video/ARvQ5iXEipA/w-d-xo.html
I had actually watched your video of WB Ranch while I was building this! Was awesome to "walk" through the front door! (I hope I can make it to the Ranch in the next couple years to do it for real!)
If you follow the stairs to the primary bedroom, the windows should look out to the backyard. but on the show, they show the front view. Always bothered me. Also loved the first season white brick with the mishanged Picasso over the fireplace
But this is just how it’s supposed to be in our mind, doesn’t it? Because in reality there is no room above the living room, correct? The ceiling is way too high and all they had was the illusion that it was there. The same above the dining room. Someone who visited said this, but if we look carefully, we can see it by looking up and in reality there is no possibility another floor is above. We can see bars of wood that probably hanged cameras and equipment. In some episodes we can see a little of this. I am not sure where the Tabitha’s room really was since we see from her bedroom the hallway, not the other room. They changed a lot though. The closet next to the study sometimes became a bathroom, and once they made it appear the bathroom downstairs was underneath the main stairs where the other closet used to be. The kitchen here doesn’t show the newer section added in the last episodes either where it opened out of the kitchen and the new breakfast table was. Also the table in the kitchen was very small not this long. What was on the left side going up the main stairs? Sometimes they went that direction as if to go Tabitha’s room. Really confusing. 😂🤣 But this recreation is really fun. Well done! 👏 Have you been to the actual residence?
Yes, this house is a recreation of what we see on the show, with rooms placed where they "should be" based on what we know and the limitations of the exterior set shape. There is a door in the master bedroom that should open into a full bathroom, but unfortunately it would hang out into space over the neighbor's yard! Tabitha's room on the show indeed appears off a hallway that can't exist (and was likely just a wall they rolled-in.) While researching there were many such things I discovered, such as a character looking-out a back window and seeing the front-yard, etc. It was quite a puzzle to "get right"! I'd love to visit both the set and actual house, but am unfortunately several hundred miles away.
I don’t think E.M couldn’t care less about what the house looked like after all that makeup & stinky carpet l bet she couldn’t wait to get out of there quick enough 😂😂😂😂
