Thank you very much for the review. It's nice to see heavy games reviewed in the Dice Tower, and nice to see your approach to both the rules overview and the game review by itself
Chris Yi and Eric Summerer need to do a top ten together so I can throw out my white noise machine and just play that top ten instead. Also: "spit out a car." Yikes! That'll damage your jaw. Great review!
A great review! I don't play these heavier Euros but I'm always interested in seeing how they work as maybe someday I'll take the plunge. Many thanks! 😁
For 2 players I personnally add a third player using the Turczi player from the Solo mode (not for the point, but to keep pressure on factory spaces, make more competiton for Sandra, and keep the factory department moving a bit more).
Interesting review but don't know that i really 'feel' it the way you do. This game is a 10 for me. Yes it's heavy, but the theme and mechanisms and just everything integrates so well that it actually just all made sense to me my first game. I personally don't find scoring confusing - some games you have to have a whole pad to help you score - maybe this could've used that but I certainly think the scoring matches what you are trying to do, and in fact, i think the whole meeting scoring is really fun because you can't easily predict it - which is not common in most games at all. You realy need those speech bubbles but don't always know how much time you have to collect them which makes it really suspenseful! I also don't know that i agree that once you get 'off track' that you can't get back on. Every spot has a value you can eek out of it esp. if you haven't maxed your certs. And if you REALLY need to do something, go use admin.
Great review - thank you Chris and Wendy. Chris is another excellent addition to the Dice Tower roster, and adding Wendy to the reviews is another level of wonderful. Good job guys! Shouldn't the game get a seal of approval, or is a 7.5 needed for that?
My brother in law works at BMW, this looks more complex, there’s no way I’m teaching this to my group. On a brighter note, first time I’ve seen Meeple Overboard, love the podcast, and enjoying your review. Thank you.
Top 5 game for me. Definitely one of lacerda’s more approachable games. I feel it all makes sense and flows really well. As for scoring, I certainly didn’t find any part of it confusing. Scoring well on the other hand is a different story.
Game looks fun, the price is completely nuts for a 4p game with that amount of components though. Every retail copy is 150$+ canadian monopoly money and this looks like most 60$ game I own...
I swear it doesn't, once you open the actual box. Component quality is top notch, especially for people like me who'd rather play with wooden meeples than plastic minis. Most wooden pieces are painted (parts, cars, books, small locks, etc...), the main board is huge and top quality, the player boards are dual-layered, the removable inserts are convenient to use during play but once all is packed you can shake the box upside down nothing would fall out or move a single bit, etc... Yes it's expensive. But basically, it's same price as Subterra Deluxe edition, see what I mean...
I love all the Lacerdas I've played (Gallerist, On Mars, Lisboa). I have all but Vinhos and am looking forward to getting them to the table, particularly this one!
It doesn’t feel that fiddly to me, and it’s definitely not that much too remember even compared to Mage Knight, Magic Realm or ASL. Teaching it to my non-gamer wife, who speaks a different language than me and only knows some basic English, wasn’t that bad. This gets brought out to the game table at least a few times a month, and more often when I get on a solo kick. To each their own I suppose, but I don’t feel like this is even as heavy as people make it out to be. Lisboa was a little heavier, but still not that bad.
It's definitely more sparse art wise. I do miss the chairs, but I did go in for this over Drivers Edition overall. Though either should be just as awesome. Really just a preference in art/graphic design between the two.
Name suggestion for your reviews: Hear Yi, Hear Yi!

Chris you have a fantastic voice and language!
1:20 "...lie down here at her [or his] desk." My DREAM job!

Like all Lacerda games I have. It takes me freaking ages to learn. Thanks for the upload!
14:16 that IS Kanban as a process system. In real life.
Great rules summary and review. Excellent new voices on the Dice Tower!

Good review though I definitely disagree with a rating of 7.
Great review. All of Chris's reviews should lead into him introducing a smooth jazz track.
Jazz sux.

Great job, Chris and better half Wendy. This game scares me, but in a good way! I wanna play this.

Awesome job you two. Hope to see more
So basically it’s a Tesla factory:)
Great new voices, well done 🙂
Space station phoenix
This might be the most cromulent review I've heard...so far
It’s totally embiggened
Excellent review. More, please :)
awesome review!
Greak job thanks
looks gorgeous but fiddly AF. A TON to remimber. A bitch to teach others. This game will hardly get table time for those reasons. So no thanks.

Crikey, having played the original, this looks so... bland.
