Andy told the story of how when Conan lost the Tonight Show to Jay Leno, one of Conan's major concerns was all the people on his staff who moved to LA to support him on what was expected to be a very long run on TV. He formed a company to hire them and keep his promise to them

@Peter Evans you are wrong about literally every single thing. It is around 150-200 people, most of them full-time, and remotes involve more like a 10-15 people crew. Watch any of the behind-the-scenes of any of his travel segments. It was by no means child's play to pay all of them during his post-Tonight Show hiatus.

A lot of the bits he does with his employees are at their expense in order to pander the audience. It sucks to work for celebrities directly, but some of the perks (extremely rare opportunities, usually, especially for shows with permanent locations, such as meeting John Hamm) are excellent.

I think she was going to pull back and break the hug, so she wouldn't be a creep, but he pulled her closer to let her know it was cool. That was super empathetic of him. He could tell she was just trying to be polite and cool and not over do it on national television but Jon was like, "Nah, we both know this isn't something that you get to do all the time, I'm gonna make sure it's as good an experience as I can make it." He seems like a super awesome dude from all I've heard about him. He doesn't take himself too seriously and doesn't think he's God's gift to the universe like some attractive male and female actors do. It was also hugely sweet of Conan to use his connections to make an employee that happy. It's one of the most heartwarming things I have seen.

I did some PA work on the show that Jon Hamm was a regular on before he really broke out famous (the Lifetime series "The Division") he was absurdly kind to everyone on the crew, I've been so pleased but frankly not really that surprised to see his major super stardom over the years has not warped that sensibility at all. It is what is uncommonly known as the "Procrastination Effect." Basically, when you leave something for the last minute, you may create some high-quality work with the intention of "good enough." I've been using this all my life, which is also how I got so far in school with passable grades.

I highly respect Conan. He interacts with his staff giving them a moment in his show. No matter the title they may have. He makes everyone feel like they are truly part of the team and a very important part of the show. That's something that not a lot of public figures dare to show their interactions with their employees right on the spot. He puts himself in some situations no matter how unprofessional they are. He is very weird and awkward in front of the camera But always at the end, he thanks them for their contribution to the show and recognizes them, and treats them like human beings and not numbers. They've made jokes before about how people think of Ellen as the tv host who does things for people, but I've seen enough to see that Conan really does a lot for people, even if it is small stuff. The difference is that he doesn't hold it all out there so people will pat him on the back.
