- ThermaRest NeoAir XLite NXT Sleeping Pad - 6X Less Noisy!
The new ThermaRest NeoAir XLite NXT Sleeping Pad is a lightweight, inflatable 4 season sleeping pad that has an R rating of 4.5. The biggest news is that the new design is 83% more quite than previous NeoAir pads.
This is HUGE! We love NeoAir pads and have been using them for years. But they did make a crinkly sound. A trade off we endured for years. Now they fixed it and we could not be happier!

Sounds as loud to me
Hmm. First time comment on our channel….
@Engearment so? I slept on a thermorest for 5 months...I can't say it sounds the same?
@@KAFKUBA You can say what you like. I appreciate that. We get a some spam comments and it gets irritating trying to navigate them. Thanks for sharing your insights.
What model where you using?
@Engearment it is the Neo Air Xlite... no other letters...no NXT...i grew to like the noise...I didn't like blowing it up 3 times in middle of night
@@KAFKUBA Hmm. Sounds like you might have had a bunk unit. Did it leak on you? Looks like you did the AT. Impressive!
From my experience of using 9 of these so far, this has been the quietest one yet. I have not had to re inflate them unless I used 100% my own breath and the temps changed significantly. The inflation sack helps with that. Though I like the challenge of inflating it in as few breaths as possible LOL.
Trust me. the NXT is much quieter than the other versions. Again, having used them for the last decade, I can attest to how loud they were before.
For reference, we are using at 9-11k ft at low humidity in Colorado.
Wazzup, Bruh?
I appreciate your review.
I almost wouldn't require your endorsement for a product that sells for about $200 today
I bought a pair of Orange ThermaRest in 1986 for about $40 each
Which would work out to about $100 in 2023 dollars
Each pad has gone through 1000 inflate/deflate cycles
And that's a conservative estimate
I've had to patch them a few times
The included patch kits worked fine
A layer of Gorilla black duct tape on top makes it bulletproof
Did I get my money's worth?
Over the last 37 (arrgh!) years I've tipped the scales between 185 and 210 lbs
So I ain't no featherweight
Well considering I'm about to leave on my yearly 1 to 3 month cyclotour
I'd say heck yeah!
This is what happens when you buy quality
My North Face down sleeping bag
My Cannondale handlebar bag
And just about all my Park Bike Tools are just as old
All these are just as old and have been used as much and still kicking
I usually don't post so many words at once on TH-cam
But I decided to add something relevant here
Because you did a fine job here and you deserve more exposure
Sincerely
Rick
