Nice clear review. I love mine. I even sleep on it on my bed over my regular form mattress. I don't wake up with a sore hip, if you can believe it. I also have a TR ProLite+
Great review! I have this pad and so far I love it. I was thinking of trying another pad but I can’t find another one for the same weight to warmth ratio. I don’t really notice the noise of it when sleeping but I’m a pretty sound sleeper.
Therm-a-rest just came out with a new updated version of this pad. It’s a half a inch thicker and it weighs exactly the same weight. It’s also a little bit warmer. Big Agnes has a pad that’s coming out that has a similar weight with a similar R-value. It’s called the big Agnes Zoom. I’m going to purchase both of these pads so that I can try them out and do reviews of them. The Therm-a-rest is out now and the big Agnes is coming out soon.
The pros outweigh the cons with the NeoAir X-lite. A very well built solid product for sure. To help address the "chip bag" noise I have never noticed it with a light 30 degree mummy bag on top of it, the same goes for the 6.9R value Thermarest Xtherm. if a user is really sensitive to the crinkle sounds then a simple pair of earplugs may help. Cheers!
I sleep with a bit of white noise next to my head, so that solves the problem, but I can see how air plugs would be an excellent solution. Thank you for your feedback! God bless you!
I don't get why folks fuss about noise with these things. The real problems to me are fragility and sliding of the thing. My first xlite short lasted 2 weeks before internal baffles started bursting , a patch kit isn't much use for that problem. Could they not have addressed the slipy surface problem on the new xt? I have an old neoair all season, twice the weight but square cut so bigger and I don't slide off!!!
Would love to hear your update on the neoair NXT coming in Jan of 23. It's supposed to be 80% quieter (10:40), same r value, and a 1/2 inch thicker and the same weight.
That sounds like the improvements that I've been hoping for. I will definitely keep my eye out for one. I know some of the bigger TH-cam channels already have one, but I'll have to wait until the release date to get one.

Sounds like you found what works for you. The one thing I’ve learned is that you have to find what works for you because everybody is different.

Great review! Thanks
I am currently working on getting out a review for the new version of this Matt, that is 3 inches thick and also of the new X therm.
Great video my man, thanks. I just love my BA pad and yes 8 Oz more weight. I keep thinking of getting it🤔. Thanks again
The big Agnes pad is currently my favorite. In certain situations, going ultralight allows me to bring more camera equipment.
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it; thanks for the feedback!
Nice review sir
Thank you!

I am not sure why they didn't address the texture of the fabric. If anybody knows please leave a comment?
Great video. I really can't get myself to buy this pad, just because of the noise 😅
You could actually hear it the entire time in the video. It's a good pad, but it isn't quiet :-)

the noise will drastically decline after breaking in period. love mine
What do you think is a reasonable time for the break-in.?
@@BackpackingGearNut I would say about 45 nights/ by the time I hit PA on the AT it was very quiet.
