Just a quick correction. Regarding RAM upgrades, the information on the video is specific to the AMD version of the P16S workstation, which does not have the optional RAM slot to upgrade. This amazing workstation can be purchased with an Intel or AMD CPU. The Intel version has a soldered onboard RAM and a spare/ second RAM slot to upgrade. Hopefully, this helps anyone looking to buy the Intel version.

How did you upgrade your main OS drive to a larger SSD? I've seen some videos of people cloning their OS drive or partitions using software and then replacing the drive, but it seems some encounter issues during the process. Did you have to configure anything in the BIOS or use a safe boot mode to make it work? It would be really helpful if you could share your experience or any tips, as I currently have a 250GB SSD for my OS, which feels too small.

Bro its unlikely that youll actually respond, but i just have one BURNING question about ssd upgrades. So a while back installed a samsung 2tb 970 evo as a secondary to the stock ssd, didnt do anything other than just simply pop it in, and that was it. Never, not ONCE had the laptop given me any BSOD before, not after updates, not after installs of new programs, NOTHING. HOWEVER, the other day i removed the 970 evo, and installed a 990 pro 4tb, and my nitro 5 gave me my first bsod. Initially it gave me "kernel security check failure" message, and it wouldnt budge until i removed the 990 pro. Then once i reinstalled the 970 evo, it went back to normal, so i thought it was just a fluke. So i once again took my 990 pro, and installed it back in, and poof, it no longer gave me to "kernel security check failure", it gave me the "critical system process died" BSOD. Now no matter what i did, i would not get the stock ssd to function, neither removing the 990 pro, or reinstalling the 970 evo. Somehow the stock ssd got fried, but the contents of the stock system ssd are still accessible via enclosure. After this entire ordeal i had to reinstall windows on a brand new 4tb 990 pro ssd, and my laptop booted again, BUUUUUT the 990 pro that initially basically bricked the stock system ssd, basically cannot be installed as secondary internal storage, because if i try to pop it in, itll give me a "kernel security check failure" EVEN when paired with the brand new 990 pro with windows freshly installed. Idk whats going on AT ALL. The troublesome 990 pro is still recognized in the bios as a 990 pro with 4tb of storage, it still works as an external ssd when i put it in an enclosure, so idk what in the hell is going on, i want to know if i should backup the files on it in case it craps the bed, or what. In at a loss, and have absolutely no idea what to do.

I just got 48gb of ram for my racer nitro17-an41 but after following the steps for this and turning it back on everything is just a black screen I don’t understand much about laptops all I know is that I need to reset something called a cmos? I would greatly appreciate the help quickly. ❤

The box on the left bottom is for ssd of 2.5'' ? Sata ? Thanks . I just upgraded RAM on my Nitro 5 and I would add another ssd for more space . Actually I have ACC and AM2 installed but I have only main ssd of 512 . Thanks in advance

What screwhead are you using to remove the small screwdriver to put in the ssd? I've tried ph0, 00, 000, no luck at all, yet you do it so effortlessly.

Not sure because I haven't tried but im pretty sure you can game on that thing. Maybe not at medium or high settings but for sure low. Emulation on this im almost positive works also. Playstation1, 2, N64, GameCube, Dreamcast, etc. Maybe not PS3,4 own 5 but some gaming is better than no gaming. Can't wait to get my hands on one of these.. Still expensive for my budget on eBay...

if you're planning to upgrade the ssd make sure it's single sided as these laptops wont take double sided SSDs, luckily the 990 pro shown in the video is single sided

Hi guys! Good video! Recentely I make the same upgrade (Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55), but 32GB DDR4 (brand smart 2666Mhz) Dual slot. But after that, I'm with issues on windows errors (blue screen). Sometime the windows "freeze" and restart alone. I don't think in hardware issues, I'm thinking there are some config. Any one pass the same issues ?
