Mawhile's stats are so bad that its in the levels of Alolan Dugtrio. The only upsides it has is the amazing typing that is Steel/Fairy and the ability Intimidate and Sheer Force. But even then its best use is being a mixed defensive stealth rocker, or a general attacker. Other mons above it like Probopass and Klinklang can do more or are outright better. Probopass can pivot (thanks to Volt Switch) and higher defenses makes it a great switchin to spread Paralysis from thunderwave and stealth rocks, while Klinklang is an overall better attacker with better stats and 2 better moves that being shift gear for boosting and gear grind which is an amazing move. Basically mawile sucks lol. But design wise it's one of the best steel types
I like using Steely Spirit Perrserker in raid battles when others use Zacian and/or Zamazenta. They don't usually need the boost but that's just my little way of helping out.
It’s pretty hilarious that some of the Pokemon featured on this list are still considered good to average. I guess that’s how good of a typing Steel is. Also, I completely forgot about Wormadam Trash form but with Scizors and Forretress’ existence, it’s appropriately named.
I dont think he understands the purpose of some pokemon, dugtrio doesn't need to have defenses because that's not its purpose same with probopass, it doesn't need good attack stats because it's good at what it does defensively fulfilling its roll as a pokemon

Probopass can't even fill its role defensively too well due to two 4x weaknesses to ground, although Steel trapping a slight niche it does have. Additionally if its too defensive in the current metagame, it sets itself up to be taunt bait and be taken out of the match. There is no question though that both of them are among the worst steel types and he is correct putting them roughly where he did.
@@emoxes6413 since when has a 4 times weakness stopped defensive pokemon? Ferrothorn is 4 times weak to fire. Lando and garchomp are 4 times weak to ice. (Often offensive, but sometimes run defensive sets). Ttar is also defensive from time to time and 4 times weak to fighting. Then you have gliscor, pelipper, heatran and zone. And that is just ou... The problem isn't necessarily its weaknesses, while they do suck especially having 2 4x weaknesses, the problem is probopass doesnt really do anything once you bring it out. The only thing it has is rocks, which is nice, but there are a bazillion mons with rocks. If you want a pure hazard setter use shuckle or forretress. This might be able to tank some hits but it cant do anything in return. It doesnt have recovery to stall woth toxic, not e ough offensive stats to deal damage the regular way or anything else that helps. If you put it on your team it is essentially the same as putting a rock on your team. Difficult to destroy, but fairly pointless.

Having one is manageable, but two, especially in those lower tiers where there are a lot of fighters really makes things rough. And yeah I agree 100%, there is MUCH more for probo than just that, such as not having any offenses, where most of the good defensive mons these days can pull off a toxic stall or some sort of offense.

@@SonBlackHeart22 It's still in PU though, or the lowest tier right now in Gen 8 in large part thanks to its typing. It does well though due to better stats, being better than probopass as a defensive mon (70/180 compared to 60/145) and MUCH higher attack at 110, so it can dish out offenses as well as being a defensive mon. Good stats or a godlike ability can save any mon even with a bad typing. Look no farther than Galar Darmantian for that.
Oh no! Both Alolan Sandslash and Galarian Stunfisk being on this makes me sad to see(especially Sandslash). I used them both in my playthroughs in both gen 7 & gen 8 and they're both good. At the very least I'm happy Alolan Sandslash was in the top 10 strongest ice type Pokémon.🙂
Alolan sandslash is good. It has access to ice scales so it will have 120 defence and 130 sp def. With great attack and movepool or ypu can use it with slush rush for great speed. I like it bcs i used one in my radical red hail team. Its typing is bad but its pretty good

Actually, the Alolan Sandslash I used in Ultra Moon was REALLY Good, she One-Shotted every single Pokemon of Olivia in the Pokemon League, also she was really good against Hau's Raichu and Vaporeon. Also, she One-Shotted Ultra Necrozma and Tanked it's moves, sooo....... Alolan Sandslash gets a point.
I'd argue Togedemaru even being on this list. While it's Singles presence isn't amazing, you seemed to completely forget how amazing it has been in VGC, being a Follow Me user, a paralysis spreader, and a Lightning Rod support. Sure, it wasn't the best, but it's definitely better than nearly every mon on this list. Also, Galarian Stunfisk deserved to be way lower, considering its ability is near useless, its outclassed as a slow, EQ spamming wallbreaker by Snorlax, and it gets no Steel STAB. How can it function as a Steel Type when its best Steel STAB moves are Metal Claw or Flash Cannon (which is coming off of a bad Sp. Attk)? It can barely even function as a defensive Pokemon because it has no recovery, and its typing is pretty bad.
What's worse, the fact that Meowth and its evolution is the only pokemon to get an aloan and galarian form, or that neither of them looks better then the original?

Think about it: Dragon < Fairy < Poison < Ground This effectively picks up our pattern with the remaining 4 types. I know that steel types aren't weak to dragon types (even though they should be, but anyway) this is the reason why we should pick it up at dragon types, because anything else would jumble up the pattern we've been following with this series. Mystic, believe me, you should pick it up at dragon types next and then we can successfully continue with our pattern for this series. Again: Dragon < Fairy < Poison < Ground the remaining 4 in this order.
@@Physicist_7 it’s actually better than Rampardos for a playthrough. Rampardos is slow and lacks defenses, but can hit hard otherwise. Bastiodon has Metal Burst, which is counter and mirror coat at once, and is guaranteed to survive one hit. Plus, with the buff to Sturdy, it becomes even more lethal if played correctly.
Honestly...when I first played Sword, I only used Perserker as a stand in for Mawile when I eventually wanted to get one... But I never found a way to get Mawile (this was blind and I had no knowledge how to abuse wild area weather then), and I ultimately found Perserker to be pretty good to use in game. Especially when I added Play Rough to him... So basically Perserker was my faux-Mawile the entire playthrough XD
Steel is my favourite type. Recently did a Radical Red run. Perzerker put so much work in. Tough claws, fakeout, iron head, bullet punch combo kills most things that arnt fire
Next is Ground, and then… please take a slight detour and work on the updated Top 10 Weakest Bug-types list. You really need to keep your promises and remember your first one was a slight debacle, due to putting Venomoth on there, Mystic. After that, it’s Dragon, then Fairy, and finally, Poison.
Steel type with no speed...... like 90% of most steel types. That and speed is not the only thing that makes a mon good and even if the special is also low most would not put a special weak mon against a special mon.

Alolan Sandslash is overall a bad Pokemon in my opinion with it's terrible dual type. Bastiodon is honestly better than you feel as well, and Probopass is a little better than you labeled him with Klinklang being much better than Top 5 and Togedemaru is number 9 for my lists. Though the others still are bad admittedly.
I used bastiodon in gen4 OU as lead staller with leftovers sturdy sassy nature 0 speed IVs 252 def EVs 252 sp.def EVs 4 hp EVs stealth rock/toxic/protect/metal burts and it did very well atleast for setting stealth rock and even managed to take out some pokemon with metal burst Is it useless? now yes but in gen4 it was usable but now we have ferrothorn that can do nearly same thing but while being more good ofensively and having healing from leech seed and many other steel types that can do the same
Perrserker is easily my favorite Pokemon on this list. I will say I can get a ton more use out of it than stunfisk. I already disliked stunfisk but when they gave it my favorite type I figured it might be ok and ended up let down by a Pokemon I already hated 😅

The sinnoh fossils are such a waste opportunity. one has only attack and nothing else, the other only defenses and nothing else. its a shame since their design is actually pretty cool
The merit of substitute on dugtrio is that he’s fast, allowing him to get the sub up before the opponent can attack, allowing him to stall effectively and block status moves, giving you a free turn. you don’t need to be bulky to stall with substitute effectively. It’s usually the fast, weaker guys that are good sub users.
Togedemaru can take one or two hits if you fully invest into special defense with a Careful nature. Wish and Spiky Shield for recovery and then moves like U-Turn to pivot and Wish pass.
Where's Aggron? I used that in ORAS and regretted it. Too slow to get the first hit, it's bulk rendered useless due to always getting hit with supereffective moves that almost every opponent seems to have.
Where is mawile? Unless I'm missing something. Some of these pokemon are way better than mawile, and since it's in gen 8, it lost its ability to mega evolve and it really can't do much.
I love Alolan Sandslash I wish it wasn't here poor thing. Also I love the pink trash Wormadam because it has my favorite color pink. I'm guessing fighting is next fire probably already had a list I think.
Another downside for Galarian Stunfisk is its awful movepool. It's a Steel type with no decent Steel moves. All it gets offensively are Metal Claw (low damage) and Flash Cannon (special). If if got Iron Head and/or if Snap Trap was actually Steel instead of Grass, then it might be slightly better.

Foretress still did a great job for me in HGSS. Laying down hazards, having a strong Gyro Ball, and if all else fails, go kaboom

If you buff Bastiodon, then you gotta buff every other Fossil Pokemon before X/Y since they all have a base stat total of 495.

Bastiodons typing is actually better than sandslashs typing
Another downside for Galarian Stunfisk is its awful movepool. It's a Steel type with no decent Steel moves. All it gets offensively are Metal Claw (low damage) and Flash Cannon (special). If if got Iron Head and/or if Snap Trap was actually Steel instead of Grass, then it might be slightly better.
This is going to be interesting. Steel types are known for being strong.

I think that the top 10 worst Steel types are 10 Fortress 9, Alolan Sabdslash 8, Klingklang 7, Togadamaru 6, Galarian Stunfisk 5, Persecker 4, Probopass 3, Alolan Dugtrio 2, Bastiodon 1, Wormadam Trash cloak.
If only Persserker had better Special Defense & Speed. Then it would be a good Pokémon to use in VGC.
