Nice look at a pristine classic. Thanks for sharing. The first 1911 I bought after returning from Vietnam was a Colt Lightweight Commander in ,45ACP. I paid $111 for it in 1972. I still have it, along with the original box, but my Colt shows the “character marks” of having been carried off duty for many years. I put it up against a Colt Wiley Clapp Commander in Part 8 of my Great Affordable 1911 Series.
I don’t have as many lightweight commanders as I used to, but I still have a few. They don’t get as much carry time as they used, but they are a great design. Thanks so much for sharing! 👍👍👍👍

FYI the grip frame is the same as the Government just the slide and barrel are shorter!!
