Great content! Wellbutrin did a miracle for me at the beginning but 4 months later stopped working and the withdrawal kicked in. I increased the dose, had the same effect as in the beginning, but 2-3 months later - heavy withdrawal again. Now I understand why! I think Wellbutrin it’s a great drug but definitely not for the long-term. If your depression is so severe that you can’t stand up from bed and be functional, it can definitely help you to put yourself together, so that you make it through work related deadlines or tasks. But you should definitely look for another Options to build up a well-being and to maintain it in the long term. That was my experience.

I’ve fixed my depression through diet and exercise to avoid taking these types of things. But I can’t kick cigarettes no matter how hard I try. So I thought of trying this for a month or 2. It's weird how some people withdrawal and some people don't, I've been off and on for years, recently I forgot to call and have my 350xl, so I went a couple weeks without it and never really felt anything.

I've been on 150 Wellbutrin twice a day since 2009. I struggle with depression still but in a manageable way (I'm much better off than I was taking paxil before) I did try a larger dose once but right away went back to the regular because I didn't like the way it made me feel. I'm doing pretty good most days (depression is something you still have with you, no pill is going to be magic) but feel like it's still working great for me. It's been 13 years, not sure how rare that is. I don't want to get off it since mental illness runs both sides of my family and I'm pretty sure I'm going to struggle for the rest of my life.

I to suffer from the constant headaches but oddly when the moon cycles full or newmoon my headaches do an escalation thing that leads to vomiting and sorta what some have said a borderline personality event. I remember it but its like I cannot control it and its scary. If you ever get a resolution please post.

@@LifeWithLavonnique I made my doctor aware. He approved of what I was doing. I have been tapering off for about 1.5 years. I got a pill splitter and started with 75 milligrams for about 6 months, then 50 milligrams for 6 months. I am now at 25 milligrams. I wanted to take it very slow to avoid as many adverse side effects as possible. I did experience some headaches in the beginning, but, they subsided after a few weeks. I would recommend seeing your doctor and going over things with him/her. Best of luck to you 😊❤️

I took it for smoking cessation. After 3 months 300mg stopped in 1 day. I never had depression but now I don't know what f..k goin on with me. I feel anemic . Half men. No energy. My body temp dropped to 34 and stays that way. Blood pressure also : 100/ 60 . 90 / 60. Got make tests for thyroid , adrenal , anemia.Also eye problems. Dry painful. Pressure. My eye pressure is up from left eye 18 to 19 right eye 19 to 20 . Thanks God test for glaucoma is ok

( From fit healthy and full energy) . They started looking for autoimmune thyroid, celiac or not celiac gluten disease. Fibromyalgia... Anyway...To recover tooks me (last pill taken in November 2022) , about 6 months to stabilise my blood work and generall health..And even after...Sometimes I got days of feeling like " something ( someone?) Yeah, I quit Buproprion (300) cold turkey. Thankfully, my mood was good, accounting to a lot of work I've done on the mental health & life changes. I was afraid I might relapse, but instead I suffered a kind of severe boredom, intense restlessness. Nothing was even remotely engaging or interesting. It was horrid. It is really ike coming off a stimulant - really threw off my motivation/reward, ie. dopamine. I'm now back to normal after a week 1/2.

@HF Trust I tapered off of it finally by just cutting the pills in half and then into forths over a 4 week period. I wanted off of it because I was on it for a month and I only felt more anxious on it. I had a lot of stress in my life back then. And I pinpointed where the stress was coming from and dealt with it and now I’m much happier. And a lot less anxious.
So I was just prescribed Wellbutrin but I'm seriously reconsidering taking it because I've been taking this vitamin called Rhodiola Rosea and I feel better focus and more energized. (it builds up in your system though so maybe skip a day every 4 days. They fifth consecutive day is too much energy tbh.

I also had seizures. It landed me into the ER twice for major panic attacks. I never knew panic attacks felt like “dying”. Both times they said all my major vitals are great, but my anxiety was through the roof (almost like paranoia), and would randomly have seizures. Some people can’t just cold Turku off of it, you have to taper down. I would try 15% off for two weeks, 2 weeks keep taking off 15%.

Hi all. I read somewhere a few years ago that tryptophan can be a risk as it was a banned manmade amino. Is 5-HTP safer or is it to new to know and would as an opinion 5-HTP be a better current choice to load and wean of Bupropion? I have flush and non flush Niacin, and topical magnesium already but as I have Graves disease so internal magnesium just makes me use the bathroom even faster than I already do which is like 10 x a day. So with me I been on Bupropion 3 years and am basically back to square 1 zilch motivation like a stuck in bed feeble zombie. No desire to eat or do anything not even do this which took me a few months to share my situation and now its being shared with the public. Meds are getting me knowhere I need another approach. My brain is wanting the effects originated when I first started on Welbutrin but I was made aware of what you mentioned about needing to keep raising dose. I am afraid of that so I just stuck where I am but another safe method is needed since I lost any desire in life. Hope to hear back.

Me too. They aren’t talked about nearly enough. I used Parnate for several years after my husband died and it was the only med that did a thing for me. And did it quickly, smoothly and thoroughly. The diet issues are way out of date. I ate whatever I wanted and never had any problems. Obviously it’s not for everyone but it should be considered as an option much more often than it is.

@@jpaulglobal it's gone really well, I read that SNRI like Wellbutrin don't require tapering off. So after a couple days of taking it one day and skipping the next I decided to stop all together. I didn't have any side effects that were noticable. I started taking rhodiola rosea. Now I take that every day. I'm glad to be off Wellbutrin!

You have no withdrawal because it is a norepinephrine dopamine reuptake inhibitor, therefore it makes permanent genetic changes to your gene expressions. It also increases grey and white brain matter in the frontal cortex. So the positive therapeutic benefits will be with you long after you discontinue use.

Adrenal fatigue can also cause anxiety and depression. Adrenal support supplements have been very helpful for me.

Isn't anti psychotic and stimulates yes both work on dopamine but on different receptors out of the 5 which have different effects...?

Tryptophan was banned becasue some company that made it was found to be tampered with. That's it.

Try a 30 minutes workout daily, it helps... your body/brain needs dopamine
You can always go back up to 300mg. Maybe try a different generic or name brand as effectiveness can vary.

@@jpaulglobal it's gone really well, I read that SNRI like Wellbutrin don't require tapering off. So after a couple days of taking it one day and skipping the next I decided to stop all together. I didn't have any side effects that were noticable. I started taking rhodiola rosea. Now I take that every day. I'm glad to be off Wellbutrin!
