    46:00 - 47:00 Outro
    Advantages of Antipsychotic Tapering
Antipsychotic medications can harm, most notably over long-term use. And there is evidence to support that not all persons need to be on antipsychotic medications for life. The good news is that it is possible to accomplish antipsychotic titration or even completely eliminate the need for these heavy medications in many cases. The road map for achieving the best results is to do so in tandem with efforts to reduce or even eliminate the original symptoms that led to the prescription in the first place. Finding root causes and addressing what is found can make the difference between success and failure in treatment.
This is the foundation of antipsychotic tapering success at Alternative to Meds Center.
While these may seem like broad sweeping statements, studies are showing that both atypical and other forms of antipsychotic drugs can at times be avoided and replaced with much less toxic treatments that do not harm the patient and tend to have better compliance. Compromising a patient’s health through unnecessary or over-prescribing harsh, heavy antipsychotic medication has been subjected to much scrutiny and even criticism. There is now sufficient evidence to show that other non-drugging methods of help may be more beneficial to recovery in certain cases.
Researchers have noted that even in cases of schizophrenia, many unmedicated patients do better long-term without antipsychotics. Alternative to Meds Center has found this to be true as well, however, this statement we feel would be irresponsible to extend to ALL patients. Careful discernment is truly warranted for good candidates.
    Finding Better Methods of Help
A study out of the UK found that out of 102 subjects suffering from symptoms of schizophrenia, not a single one had a diet that met even the minimum standards of proper nutrition. And, another UK study showed the dramatic impact that changes to the diet had in eliminating symptoms of schizophrenia.
Diet and nutrition are some of the foundations of effective treatment useful for mitigating and eliminating unwanted symptoms, and lessening the need for medication.

I was never warned of the dangers of these drugs and ended up polydrugged many times by ignorant and wreckless doctors. The people I turned to for help turned me into a guinea pig and their personal piggy-bank, like a guinea piggy-bank. I can't even call myself an empty shell of the person i used to be. I honestly wish i never would have tried to seek help because the help just turned my life into a never-ending hell. Makes me distrust eveyone and everything.

In my case, I have been on psychiatric meds unnecessarily for more than 30 years. I have found that I cannot abruptly discontinue the last remaining med without getting intense physical withdrawal symptoms, which then lead directly to intolerable mental "withdrawal psychosis" symptoms. Therefore, I have devised an ultra-slow "hyperbolic" taper which will take approximately 7 to 10 years to complete. I am down to 11% dosage, and my taper might only be halfway done. I am doing well, but I do something I call "close self-monitoring and solution-finding". In other words, if I notice anything is significantly out of whack, I take measures to correct it.

Can you kindly answer a question about "Non-specific psychoses"? And "ASD-P or ASD-specific psychoses"?
A study of 112 ASD participants states that 28% of those randomly selected participants experience ASD-p.
What is the rate of success of waning off APs such as olanzapine for these specific patients? The study I mentioned distinguished between ASD-p psychoses from regular SZ psychoses comorbid with ASD (I believe 50% increased risk to get it if you are ASD) and from ASDs who experience no psychoses.

    • @sebastianboredal7486
      @sebastianboredal7486 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@Ashley-xy2vl The thing with b-vitamins, as with any nutrient, are in getting the right amount, neither to little nor to much. With coming of off anti psychotics you specifically want to get a balanced amount of the nutrients involved with the metabolic complex called "one carbon metabolism" (vitamin b2, b6, b9, b12, the minerals copper, zink, molybdenum and protein) as this system generates the compound "sam" (s-adesonyl methionine). Sam is a cofactor for the enzyme COMT (catechol-o-methyltransferase), which serves as the major catecholamine catabolist (it breaks down the catecholamines; dopamine, noradrenaline and adrenaline). A nutritionally balanced diet is key for this.
Also, you could get bloodwork to see if this is working adequately. P-homocystein and P-methylmalonic acid taken together gives a fairly accurate reading. If the tests show elevated numbers you could start with a b12 supplement and then add in the rest, which can be done with a good multivitamin.

I like this guy. I came here shortly after watching his presentation on lithium orotate. I'm Bipolar (53 years old, diagnosed in early 20s), but since age 25, I'd go 7, 8,10 years without any hospitalizations, no meds.
I was beginning to even question if I really had this thing called bipolar disorder. But it does creep up on you every now and again and it's mostly difficult to be the best judge of your condition in real time. Not impossible, but hard.
I recently had another "relapse", but now I think I might finally know why, I might have to scale back on the Scooby Snacks, which I'm fine with, I was already heading in that direction.
This guy is right, it's ALWAYS the pot that gets me as I love the stuff. I love pot, but I hate psych wards, I think I'm going to just scale way back on the weed, not quit, but really scale back. I'm doing all this while also transitioning from 1200mg lithium carbonate to 20 mg elemental lithium from Orotate ... Wish me luck, but also realize, I'm kind of good at not relapsing and this time I have some good anecdotal reasons to believe the Orotate may do me just fine.

Great video, some strange interpretation's, but coming from a medical background I understand these view's... Marijuahna use is not clear enough your talking about possible mixtures of 100-150 or more compounds , also, alcohol... eeh, there is a lot to be found in 'alcoholic' drinks, also in the 100 compounds. Again, it ain't so eazy...

Probably start with the Xanax first, as Lamictal is a mood stabilizer it might help a bit with withdrawals. I'm not a professional, but I am an ex-benzodiazapine addict. Lamictal helped me get off of Valium after 4 years of taking large amounts. I hope if she's already started tapering, that she's doing it slowly, I did it very suddenly and it was probably not a good idea. It changed my head for sure. Be careful. She can get off the Xanax, but it's important to do it the right way. Benzo withdrawals can be deadly.

Many people have been on medications for a long time. Many believe that you need to be medicated for life. We don't believe this is true. We believe the human body is capable of healing and it has been proven many times. Sometimes when our bodies are not getting the right nutrients , if you have a heavy metal burden, mold exposure or other things going on , your body has a harder time healing on its own.
With the right environment, and the right support for your brain and body to heal , you can greatly reduce and or eliminate your needs for psychiatric medications.

starting to doubt whether or not people with mental illness can even give 'informed consent'. the idea behind informed consent is that you are informed of the medication's effects and side effects, and their likeliness. people with mental illness can't properly consent(ESPECIALLY people in psychosis(disconnected from reality))because they're mentally ill. to understand the risks of the medication, to make a proper determination for yourself that if the unintended side effects DO happen, that you can live with them...all that requires a well working mind which these people DON'T have. system is a joke.
