Honesty there are so many quotes to choose from when putting Gandalf up online that it was a struggle not to fill the description up with them on their own. Today guys we are nearing the end of our exploration into the Fellowship of the Ring models with Mithrandir himself, Gandalf the Grey
Before his epic clash with the Balrog in Moria, Gandalf the Grey wandered the lands of Middle Earth seeking to help in the fight against the forces of darkness wherever he went. Until one fateful day at one fateful birthday party he discovered the re-emergence of The One Ring and set in motion a plan which would lead to its eventual destruction. A loyal friend, a wissened mentor, a heroic guardian, Gandalf truly is one of the most iconic and phenomenal heroes in Middle Earth.
We will show you in this comprehensive video how to bring this wanderer to life on the tabletop by using, what is actually a surprising lack of grey! Madness you say?! You would be correct but we feel the finished result really captures the essence of Gandalf Greyhame, using a variety of blues and blacks (with a few greys thrown in for good measure) we truly think you'll end up with a Gandalf that will strike fear into the hearts of all things foul in Middle Earth.
Next week we take a brief break from The Fellowship to visit the eastern kingdom of Rhun and the Easterlings that dwell there but until then we hope you enjoy and as always.

Thank you! I just stripped my fellowship models last week, think I've had them for 18 years! Got myself the Balins Tomb display base on ebay for them

Could I follow this tutorial to paint another gandalf the grey version ? I have the one that comes on the actual or normal set that GW is selling. I think that it is less detailed
YEs 100%! This recipe should work for any sculpt you have of Gandalf the Grey

We do have a Gandalf on Cart model here which we will be doing at some point but probably not for a while
Another question here hehehe, how much do you layer 50% cadian flesh and 50% bugman over the first base of bugman ? Do you cover all the skin places with that mix again ? I mean, do you cover the bugman base entirely ?
A 50/50 mix is generally a good start for the layer stage. When doing this you want to leave the deepest recesses of facial detail still showing the original Bugmans layer. This will provide natural definition which will get heightened by whatever shade you apply afterwards.

I believe we only washed the hat the once, any second wash would only have been a glaze to tie colours together
