How to Paint Boromir! Fellowship of the Ring Made Easy!

Even if you're not normally into watching my Lord of the Rings content on my TH-cam channel, it's always worth watching to see how I butcher the names of various items of clothing worn by these characters. My twitch followers are used to me butchering names but man I gotta learn the armour parts! Hope you enjoy seeing Boromir join the Fellowship of the Ring(albeit very briefly) and you're excited to see the epic scenic base of Balin's Tomb being painted up very soon!

FAQ:Adding a light spray of Grey Seer over a full coat of black primer adds a small amount of texture to the primer which gives the contrast paint more to grip on to. It also adds light and shadows which helps define the model more.

Hey Andy. The quilted armour is called an arming doublet, or a gambeson. It could be worn on it’s own as armour, or you could wear mail over it and it would cushion any blow received.
I need to write that down somewhere or I’ll just call it a dress again, maybe print off a picture and write all the names as I learn them! Thank you so much for that, really appreciate the answer!
I always assumed it was a Brigandine (like a gambeson, but with metal plates riveted between the cloth = decent travel armour compromise)
Yes! Middle Earth Monday returns! So happy to see this. The Boromir is the strongest fighter is intriguing, I'm still sorta getting over your observation that the Shire was the most powerful country in Middle Earth given that it sent 2 agents to Isengard, and another couple to Mordor and destroyed both.... I'm trying to remember the earliest game, wasn't Boromir very powerful, but had no Fate points to save him, so kept on dying while other Fellowship could escape instant death?
That is true but he did indeed have 6 might points.
Fun fact, Boromir was one of the first models I painted under Mad Merlins.
Another fun fact, Boromir was assassinated due to how much of a threat he would pose to Sauron. Its not true, just fun 😂
I think it's about time I do some more Middle-Earth content on my channel. Really need to finish the terrain projects I started during lockdown.

Once the fellowship and base are completed it might be a nice touch to paint up an old Balrog and a troll with squad of Moria goblins to try get the full set of Mines of Moria scenes

God Battle for Middle Earth were amazing games back in the day. Loved the sequel where Gloin and Glorfindel were the protagonists! Another fine paint job and video Andy! Btw Aragorn would batter Boromir! 😉
Hahaha that’s what I’d think too! Maybe we just didn’t get to see Boromir enough to really see his skill but Aragorn is just too good. Glad you’re enjoying the videos!
Great video, love the end result... just went to eBay to get the same mini as it's awesome and I've never seen it before. I hope you can continue to do more content as it keeps things fresh, but I know you have to appease the Hypnotoad to make a living :-)
The Hypnotoad does require certain sacrifices :D It's a very cool model, hope you were successful on ebay, I try not visit there, it's too dangerous for me and my wallet :D

There was a reason they shot him with arrows instead of trying the hand to hand. I think they meant Stronger in terms of being a physical fighter. Boromir/Aragorn would be some fight for sure.
Maybe we'll eventually get some super cut version of the movies and there'll be a random fight between them and we'll finally know! That's a good point about the arrows, take him down from a safe distance!
I think I remember the books describing Boromir as very large, strong and formidable. Aragorn had more plot armour of course.
Plot armour for sure helps a lot! He was supposed to be a beast alright.
Each one of these videos gets about 3 or 4 views from me. I watch the full tutorial then follow along for the base/shade stage and then come back at least once again for the layering and highlights! Hope thats helping! 😂

Love lord of the Rings minis. How I first got them back in the day was the mag that was out at the time. It was great especially for myself being a young lad at the time. I played 40k and helped paint my friends minis from third edition set but these were my first minis I owned 😊
He will forever be Bro-omir to me now. That magazine was so cool, still have most of them! It was a great way to build up a lovely collection! So cool hearing people's memories with them!
