  • The Battle of the Last Alliance is an incredible scene in the Lord of the Rings and seeing Elrond in full battle gear fighting orcs is a sight to behold and a memorable scene. In this video, we show you how to paint Lord Elrond from start to finish including how to get that very subtle green tint to his armour for Games Workshop's Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game (MESBG). Please show us how you would approach building, assembling, and painting a Gundam from Bandai. If you need recommendations on which one to try I have several which fulfill different criteria from beginner friendly to more complicated, from 1/144th to 1/100 to 1/60th scale.

    Sweet! Very nicely done!
    Received the Elrond set earlier this week.
    Like the Witch King figures, the models went together really well.
    I like the way these minis have been designed, so that the joins are hidden within the model.
    The fit has been so good that filler and sanding has been unnecessary.
    Just have the underside of Elrond's mount to fill. If I was using the mini for the gaming table I possibly wouldn't bother.

    As I'm colourblind I always wondered about the Elven armour colour. So it turns out that green gold is what I was actually seeing after all. I always assumed I was mistaken.
    On a secondary note, I have never made a miniature in my life. I've been tempted for a while but as I don't own an airbrush I didn't think it was feasible. Having watched this video I might take the plunge into Middle Earth. Thank you.

    • @DuncanRhodesDRPA
      @DuncanRhodesDRPA  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Mark. Thanks for watching. Truth is, you don't need an airbrush at all. All the miniatures painted here, on our website, and through my time at GW as well as my own collection, were done with brushes. The airbrush is just another tool in a painter arsenal but it is definitely not a necessity when you are just starting out ☺

    Hi Duncan. Thank you for an excellent tutorial. Very useful information as always. Which wet palette do you use!??? I have a Redgrass Games one, but I am slightly worried about using it for the first time. Any hints or tips on this would be appreciated. Thank you, kind regards Ian

    • @DuncanRhodesDRPA
      @DuncanRhodesDRPA  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      We use a Red Grass one too. Just add water to the sponge and pour the remaining into the sink. The sponge will be wet, then add your paper on top and smooth it out, maybe add a little water on top the pour the excess of, use some kitchen towel to gently dry the paper on top and the water will soak into it. Then use as you will. 😊
