- Tortured. Electrocuted. Sold into slavery. Every day, hundreds of kidnapped women and girls in Iraq and Syria suffer violence and abuse at the hands of militants. Those lucky enough to escape or be released often have no home or family to return to.
This is the first part of three stories, in which three women recount the violence and abuse they suffered at the hands of militants. Yazidi mother Naseema and her son were released after months in captivity. But her husband, daughters and other sons are still missing.
"My eldest daughter was screaming: "I will never go with you"
Here Naseema talks to our Special Envoy Angelina Jolie, who met with women in Iraq, in recent months.

I try my best to be aware of what’s happening around the world, we have brothers and sisters in need of help, how can I turn a blind eye. What if that was me in their position of being oppressed and attacked, I pray for all humans who are suffering right now especially for Palestine, even though some Palestinian supported saddam Hussein, they don’t deserve that.
Pray for them, if you can, my heart goes out to this people and their families, God be willing.

In Islam if you kill one it’s as if you killed all of humanity, even this yazidi lady would defend Islam and say that Muslims are so generous and kind to their religion how do I know you might ask? Well I’m a Kurdish Muslim, my people are their neighbors Kurds and yazidi live amongst eachother in peace and yazidi even support Kurdish independence! Kurdish soldiers who are majority Muslim are the number one group fighting isis in the world ... Islam is not the enemy here I don’t believe any religion teaches such hate not Islam not Christianity ect. I live in America have generally same morals and rights vs wrong ideas as my Christian neighbors and friends whom I love dearly, education is so freeing and empowering, the information is out there use it READ IT, the Quran is Islam teaching, you want to truly understand the true Islam read for YOURSELF, go to an actual masjid and simply observe us praying listen to the lectures we listen to and you’ll quickly realize just how similar we all are. Iv been to plenty Christian church lectures for the youth and am confident to say we are so so similar we both preach love 💕
