    This is the most budget comprehensive video I watched on Philippines 🇵🇭 😂 budget. I was stationed at Clark Air Base ((Angeles City) in 1991. at age 28. Now age 61, a widower and my children are grown now. I plan to return and retire in the Philippines 🇵🇭 at age 62,next year by no later than end of 2025. Location around CEBU CITY. I eventually will utilize the American Military 🪖 Philippines sponsored SRRV program. You really made my night. Good day “gmm” and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and commenting. With nearly 500,000 Americans collecting Social Security benefits abroad, it is not for everyone. But if a retiree lives within their means, financially there should be no stress. As you elude to, I’ve seen many expats spending like there’s no tomorrow resulting in financial ruin, and sadly for some, taking there life. Finding the right balance is key and I think the Philippines offers that balance to afford a stress free retirement. Good day “gmm” and thank you for following up with your comment. Yes I agree that adapting is very important and additionally expats should take an interest in learning the culture, traditions, and some history of the country they reside in. Maybe even some basic language. Understand the laws of the land and be a law-abiding guest in the country. I stated incorrectly to your earlier comment and have found figures vary greatly for American expats living abroad with estimates ranging between 4 - 6 million. Quite a lot! Day-to-day expenses are at about that level, 70% less than in the US or UK. It's even better if you own property, rather than rent, an income, investments and savings, which cuts costs even further without having to scrimp.

      Good day Joshua and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and commenting. Certainly, living rent free is a great way to go but even paying rent, currently $230 a month compared to what I would spend in America of at least $800 - $1,500+ is money in my pocket! Now in the Philippines for ten months, I’m finding my budget comfortably settled between $1,500 - $2,000 monthly. A financially stress-free retirement and loving life. @ATPAllThingsPhilippines-jb2050  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Good day BMT 1980 and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and making inquiry. We all certainly pray for good health but we must be prepared for the unexpected. Medicare only provides coverage within the United States and if your state side insurance has no international coverage then you will not be covered traveling abroad. Getting health insurance in the Philippines can be costly as seen in this video and if one had a prior chronic disease, they might be considered a high risk and uninsurable. Should someone become seriously ill, it might require them to relocate back to the USA for their treatment. You might find this link which talks about Medicare helpful; Does Medicaid or Medicare Cover Me Abroad? - MIUSA There is a Veterans Hospital in Manila (the only VA hospital outside of the USA) and this link will give you information on their services. I’ve not been there so I’m not familiar with this facility but should this be an option for you, you might consider living on the island of Luzon; Manila VA Clinic - VA Sierra Pacific Network (VISN 21) If you have not already done so, please subscribe to ATP to receive future information like this. I just had cancer surgery , looks like they got all of it. My surgery less than $4,000. I looked for a specialist , for the surgery I needed. When i searched for my doc , I wanted the best , settled for 3rd best , weird no US doctors were in the top 10.

    PH is heaven on earth for rich Filipinos only & not the ideal country for foreigners to settle & retire foreigners in PH can't even own small portions of lands & have very limited & restricted rights foreigners can own condos in PH however condos unlike lands don't increase in value over time foreigners can obtain PH citizenship if born & raised in PH like the prominent Spanish Ayala family which is not the case of expat newcomers

    • @ATPAllThingsPhilippines-jb2050
      @ATPAllThingsPhilippines-jb2050  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good day Jose and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and commenting. The established Philippine real estate rules and guidelines established for foreigners are very much like many other Asian countries which do not allow home ownership or the purchase of land. Having owned two condos in Thailand, I agree with you that in general, condo real estate will not appreciate in value like many think. The local governments allow the large builders to over build condo capacity which drives the prices down setting foreign condo owners up for losses. I, fortunately broke even on both of my units because they were rented out for better than 90% of the time. But to your point about the Philippines not being an ideal country for foreigners to retire, I respectfully disagree. Though real estate is one aspect of why an expat lives abroad, it is not the main reason. As I have expressed and presented in ATP videos, the Philippines is a nation rich in history offering a wonderful climate, the opportunity to meet many amazing Filipino people, and opportunities to enjoy amazing scenery and attractions. After five years in Thailand and one year in the Philippines, I now consider the Philippines home. If you have not already done so, please subscribe to ATP to receive future information like this. Hi Michael and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and providing your positive real estate experience. Seems you have found the right properties in the right location. Could you provide our viewers the names of some developments in Angeles City that have done well over time should they be looking in that area. My lady may soon be transferring to that area and it would be nice to have a look. Your information is refreshing and encouraging to know its not just the developer’s making money. Your viewership and time is very much appreciated and I wish you a great day. Continued success in your real estate investing! 🙂🙂

    From what i see, property costs, electricity and water bills,private transportation are relatively low costs. Food, mobile data and phone services costs around the same as singapore.

      Good day Tan and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and providing important feedback. Statistics show the average cost of living in the Philippines ($613) is 81% less expensive than in Singapore ($3285) and the Philippines is ranked 152nd vs 2nd for Singapore in the list of the most expensive countries in the world. I would have thought food, mobile data and phone service costs in Singapore would be higher than the Philippines but your feedback tells another story which is good information for the viewers. Good day Deborah and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and commenting. Very important to stay vigilant while traveling or living in a foreign land and I find myself agreeing with your comment. Having worked in Qatar and Iraq for a total of nine years followed by five years in Thailand, I feel most comfortable and safe here in the Philippines. For quality accomodations and restaurants and premium groceries, the Philippines is the worst value in South East Asia. Good restaurants are actually very rare in the Philippines, even in the most expensive bubbles of Manila and Cebu. Condominiums are constructed with super cheap materials and zero amenities. It's the worst place in all of Asia to live if you have a middle class American lifestyle spending $2500-3000 a month. Philippines is Extremely expensive relative to Vietnam and Malaysia despite having much lower wages. Filipino business owners are scam artists interested in high profits NOW!! With no regard for the quality of product or service they provide. It's a Pathetic place to retire. The only reason to live here is the dating. Period!

      Good day Matrices and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and commenting. Interesting, but I have enjoyed many a good meal at several very nice restaurants in the Cebu area. And yes, living accommodations range from very inexpensive, get what you pay for (poor quality) to premium high-quality accommodations some may not want to shell out the money for. In terms of scamming a foreigner, I find the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam all the same with many a vendor trying to get the most from “an outsider” as they can. And it’s important to visit a country before retiring to it to make sure that one can adapt and be comfortable and happy in their new surroundings. Your viewership and time is very much appreciated and I wish you a great day. 🙂🙂

      Good day Kenyon and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and inquiring. Most articles will advise that the Philippine cost of living is more than Vietnam's by as little as 0.4% to as much as 15.8%. Comparisons are made between Manila and Saigon (HCMC). Percent of population that speaks English in the Philippines is better than 80% and is ranked 2d in S.E. Asia while 50% of Vietnamese speak some English. While the Philippine traffic is ranked worst in ASEAN and 9th in the world, Vietnam can be a very dangerous place for foreigners to drive. The problem in philippines is healthcare and crimes

      Good day Brian and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and commenting. If one is not prepared for the unexpected, then healthcare can be a challenge especially the high cost of health insurance as we get older. And crime, well we just need to make sure we keep our eyes open and stay out of the danger zones. To date, I have found the dental services just fine. Most common expats mistake, emergency funds because healthcare there is not the same as in California, you better have cash and lots of emergency money. Yes electricity cost more there very expensive in the Philippines compared to California USA

      Good day Alan and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and providing your comparative feedback. Certainly, good advice to ensure you have a rainy-day fund while here as you never know what might happen. We all hope and pray for good health but bad news could present itself without notice requiring a chunk of change to be spent. I always chuckle when someone, particularly Americans, suggest that crime is a high risk in the Philippines. High quality Healthcare is available, but primarily in Manila and Cebu.

      Good day CD and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and commenting. Being vigilant and keeping our eyes and ears open as we go about our business is part of good safety protocol. I honestly can say I feel safer here in Cebu than I would feel if I were back in America. And true about high quality health care in the larger cities but one needs to be willing to pay for it. It would be interesting to hear from other expats about how they feel regarding the Philippine safety issue.
