I’m in the same boat. Selling all my stuff is daunting. It was -9F here yesterday, I won’t be missing that. My girlfriend is in Manila but I’ve already told her I won’t live there. I was in Dumaguete last feb/mar and I really liked it. It’s a little slow but I think I could get use to that.
I’m a new subscriber. I really enjoy watching your videos. Thank you very much for the time to bring folks knowledge of being a responsible expat in the Philippines. Keep up the great work! Guyz are cool. You’re definitely gonna have more fun in the Philippines. I wish and pray I’ll be retired like you all soon and living it up in paradise. There is no secret anymore. People here in the US are not happy like they use to be. Folks are always angry here for whatever reason. I am jealous of you guys. Take care y’all
I loved listening to this interview. I’m an Indiana boy living in Parañaque. Built my house 6 years ago but my Asawa is happy with it so I am happy. Went to Dumaguete last February with my wife and she liked it but her church is back in Manila. It is still going to take me a long time to sell my stuff in Indiana to move here full time.
South Bend, Indiana guy here also seems like us Indiana guys gravitate there as my Best buddy in States is married 21 years to a Filipina and he was my inspiration so pretty soon we can have our own expat group haha
@@paulk8444 Hi Paul; I am from Angola, just an hour East of you. Currently in Parañaque and going back to the icebox we call home in February. Met my Asawa 8 years ago and married for 6 years. Amazing how she and the family treat me! What a keeper!
I’m not going to miss my U.S. life. Especially the winters! ❄️🥶 I look at my Ring cameras, see the snow piling up, while enjoying the tropical weather here, and dread having to return home at the end of February. But I need to liquidate everything in the U.S. so I can live comfortably here in the Philippines. 😎🌴 Still scouting for my forever home, and hopefully Negros will be where we decide? Talk my Wife into it, Paul, when we come there in February? 🤞
Loved this interview and the three perspectives. I enjoy finding out what other people think about the difference there verses the States. I live in north Texas and we are considering seceding from the union since things are so bad in Washington. It is a cess pool and getting worse by the day. I think it will be up for a vote next November.
My coworker introduced me to my girlfriend because he dumped her for a younger Phillipina which I was very disappointed in him was there last year and was amazed of her and going back in October amazing woman and country
I agree it has to do with your attitude, and "What do you want from the city you live in" as I wasn't a fan of Manilla, BGC and Cebu although allot fo good small towns after visiting Dumaguete I too fell in love with the relaxed lifestyle. It wasn't till later i met a lady there and she sealed the deal with her and her family. I plan on joining these guys "Boots on the Ground" in June. Having been there multiple times and exploring half of Negros Oriental, and All of Cebu along with other small islands. Paul is as Nice and Real in person although a busy guy and careful as some of others are not as good but Best thing was friendships i made with Filipinos as they are truly Nice, Gentle people.
Great video once again Paul… Tons of respect for Goldfinger and what he does over there… The helmets. Not too familiar with the other two but glad they love it over there. But yes you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink. Carnivore diet or time restricted eating and maybe these gentlemen can Live strong and long life in Paradise.

Lots of great info about Dumaguete. I'm retiring in 5 months and will be back and forth between the Philippines and Thailand. I will need to make an effort to come down and visit.
Wow, Paulie, now I cannot decide where I want to settle yet! After seeing & hearing the great stories and viewpoints of Danny, Rick and that "Finger Guy" (joke lang)!! I just might have to spend more than a week there to get the feel of the Duma community. I have seen the other vloggers coming to Dumaguete to me you, Mark T. & Justin, but they all seem to just come & go for a few days without looking into the relationship dynamics of the Expat community living there. I truly regret that we have not spent as much time getting to know each other over the past 3 years, but touching on Rick's comments about feeling alone... In the late 90's when I married my 2nd wife (the baliw Russian girl), I bought a new home in a new development. For the 8 years I lived there, I only met 5 of my neighbors and NONE OF THEM were very sociable. I remember as a kid in the 60's & 70's visiting my relatives in Kentucky & North Carolina how neighbors would sit on the porch and have conversations across the street from each other. Things are so divisive in the U.S. that neighbors seem to be afraid to meet other people. Even now, I look outside in this townhouse community and I see no neighbors outside socializing. I look forward to making my way down to Duma. Thanks again, for all the great content & sage advice, Paul. Thanks also to Rick, Danny & Goldfinger for sharing their stories, perspectives and thoughts on Dumaguete City.
I didn't change...this generation changed...I don't even bother getting to know new neighbors... would wave and try to have a conversation and they looked miserable to see me...just run in the house... I don't even acknowledge them anymore.
My plane ✈️ takes off tomorrow. Why did I choose Dumaguete? Because that’s where the TH-cam channels are that I watch 😂 It’s like 11 degrees here right now, can’t wait to get out of here.

I just finished watching this on You Tube on my TV and I so much enjoyed the expats you interviewed. I won't get into my experience with my Filipina and my trips to the Philippines and our once-dreams of moving and retiring there. I am divorced 15 years now, retired of course, and came upon yours and like channels and I tune in every so often to see how you are progressing. Loved today's show because even in my limited experience with my wife and the Philippines I can relate to much of what you gentlemen talked about. Once my dream of us retiring to the Philippines was crushed, I never looked back. I think watching your channel sometimes - and others - sort of makes me reflect on things I felt during my Philippine experience with the place and the people and the Filipinas. And I think, finally, it makes me happy to see other men my age discovered what I discovered and - even though I don't live there and won't be visiting ever again - I'm happy you guys found your happiness too - because I am very happy. And it feels good to know I'm not alone. GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU. Thanks for a wonderful interview. I wish ALL OF YOU wonderful years ahead. With your attitude I'm sure you will enjoy them. JOE

The humidity can be unpleasant especially if you first arrived, not acclimatized.
I'm selling all my stuff now. It is quite the task. Trying to keep the 3 yard trash bin full.
@@sdleasia I think I might just hire a estate sale company after I give my kids anything they want
Hi @papadougpapadougsadventures We're glad you liked Dumaguete! We've found the pace of life here is very relaxing.
Take care y’all
Thanks 👌
I loved listening to this interview. I’m an Indiana boy living in Parañaque. Built my house 6 years ago but my Asawa is happy with it so I am happy. Went to Dumaguete last February with my wife and she liked it but her church is back in Manila. It is still going to take me a long time to sell my stuff in Indiana to move here full time.
Hello former neighbor. I sold all my stuff two years ago in Indiana. I do not miss those winters.
If you sell at a discount, you'll get to come to the Phils much quicker!
South Bend, Indiana guy here also seems like us Indiana guys gravitate there as my Best buddy in States is married 21 years to a Filipina and he was my inspiration so pretty soon we can have our own expat group haha
@@paulk8444 indiana winters are a good reason to move.
@@paulk8444 Hi Paul;
I am from Angola, just an hour East of you. Currently in Parañaque and going back to the icebox we call home in February. Met my Asawa 8 years ago and married for 6 years. Amazing how she and the family treat me! What a keeper!
I always enjoy conversations with these guys. They tell it like it is and demonstrate how life can be improved. Great Video.
Still scouting for my forever home, and hopefully Negros will be where we decide? Talk my Wife into it, Paul, when we come there in February? 🤞
Hi @jerrymarshall2728 We'll definitely show you around Dumaguete when you're here in February!
Loved this interview and the three perspectives. I enjoy finding out what other people think about the difference there verses the States. I live in north Texas and we are considering seceding from the union since things are so bad in Washington. It is a cess pool and getting worse by the day. I think it will be up for a vote next November.
Great interview, it's why I keep watching, best wishes to all the Guys.
My coworker introduced me to my girlfriend because he dumped her for a younger Phillipina which I was very disappointed in him was there last year and was amazed of her and going back in October amazing woman and country
Another Awesome video sir. A lot of great information.
Hi @tarbeau8561 Thanks for watching!
Good to see they are eating healthy!!!!!!!
Life is what you make it. Three guys in Dumaguete are happy with life.
Thank your for informing fellas. Live well and be happy 😊
Love this!! Awesome hearing there story's. Then hearing how you helping some these guys have better future.
I hope when I get in my retirement age I come meet some you guys when im there full time!!
Thanks Paul for the interview with the Three Stooges.. lol 😂. They have so many good pionts and opinions .Just another great video my friend ❤
Hi @herbwitt7710 Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Lots of great info about Dumaguete. I'm retiring in 5 months and will be back and forth between the Philippines and Thailand. I will need to make an effort to come down and visit.
Hi @mikaelaalexandria6312 Thanks for watching! We're glad you found the video informative. Hope to see you soon in Dumaguete!
Hi @grumpydudebryant Thanks for your kind words! We're glad you're considering spending more time in Dumaguete and getting to know our community.
Good discussion of what works in Duma....
My plane ✈️ takes off tomorrow.
Why did I choose Dumaguete? Because that’s where the TH-cam channels are that I watch 😂
It’s like 11 degrees here right now, can’t wait to get out of here.
Cool. Have a safe trip!!
@@DavidIke07 Thank you ! 👊
Safe travels and welcome to paradise my new friend 😅
@@-goldfinger2695 Thanks Goldfinger !
You lucky devil. Envy
It would be wonderful to see you in the video also! This video has some great points and it’s so wonderful how you are helping guys get to a better place and have a better life! You are really making a difference and it would be cool if someone gave you an award!
Hi @jonaho.119 Thank you for your kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Big, bigger, biggest
Great interview, it will definitely help me, since I'll be there in 2 1/2 weeks. Looking forward to meeting you guys.
JOE
I’m so curious what happened?
Seems like 3 decent guys. I hope you enjoy many fantastic years ahead
these guys are the reason why i subbed because they are possibly the best group that got interviewed... they are not here to find girls to become their toys.. instead they found a true partner for life. some guys are just salty i think ...
Hi @drincastronero5296 Thanks for your kind words! We're humbled by your support.
OMG i think those guys are taking heavy risk. When i see their body shape, and knowing that in the Philipinnes sugar in foods, fries foods and heath care are Issues.... I think that Diabet and heart attack are at the next street corner.
Exactly, not to mention the nightmare health care that Paul himself made a video about just weeks ago.
No one at all, can say these three guys are leading a healthy lifestyle.
Hi @christozen6305 We understand concerns about health risks, but many expats here prioritize lifestyle over medical risks. It's a personal choice.
Very enjoyable I’m glad I watched. I see 30 minutes video I tend to avoid lol good job . they are inspirational I wish them all happy lives
Hi @mikesimpson9997 Thanks for watching and enjoying! We're glad you found our story inspiring.
Always a fun video when goldfinher is around 😂
There’s a happy place for everyone somewhere if you’re willing to take the time to find it no matter the circumstances
i love it that you expats found home in the philippines because as an ofw in qatar...going home once a year is heaven to us...we miss the Philippines 11 months every year always...just understand the people the culture and social realities everyday you will all get along well living in the Philippines...many thanks to Paul and other expats who have heart for the Philippines
..Godbless
Hi @emzbagtas9781 Thank you, I completely understand! We're grateful for this wonderful country too.
Thank you. Good video from experienced men.
Hi @daleszabo5032 Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
I'm one minute and 5 seconds into your video and I've already learned that there's absolutely no limit to the amount of food to sustain yourself in the Philippines. LOL
I figured that out based on the thumbnail alone. I am fairly fit and the most important thing to me when I retire is to stay fit to be able to enjoy my retirement.
It tells you that the food must be pretty good there.
@@st101005 One vlogger US Jay...something said he lost weight in the Dumaguete ( healthily) this could be true anywhere in the Philippines. The humidity and heat seems like you're living in a sauna. You sweat/perspire much and such is excretion of loads of toxins and water from the body. Just hydration-- and toxins out is best. The humidity can be unpleasant especially if you first arrived, not acclimatized. When I was there a month, although I ate loads, I didn't put on weight, in fact I'm much thinner and more toned in a month because I do activities, gardening even masonry. In the west esp on wintry months, I'm more stationary, I hate the cold. I don't do much galivanting on off days. Life is work and home. Christmas has a loads of food, and easy put on weight and midrift expanding. I'm looking forward to my Philippine trip again, eating more but not gaining weight.
They didn't gain any weight since they relocated to Phillipines.
Coming here for these jokes. That's American food, the dude has been there only 10 months, the guy in red, can't eat that much in 10 months 😂😂
Thanks so much for the great videos Paul...I appreciate them very much. Good job.
Hi @jeffjohnsonfutdoc Thank you! It means a lot to me too.
Another excellent video ! Very glad all of you have found happiness there. Just a matter of time before I am there as well.
Hi @tryscience Thank you, we're glad to hear that!
I'm Flying salute sir . God blessed
Hi @mariawatin1062 Thank you, sir!
What these guys say, hold a lot of weight
🤭
What a cool bunch of guys
Silver, Olive and Red VW bugs. Glad to see the car is making a comeback. Glad they are happy, and hope they will tighten it up and stick around a bit longer guys.
Hi @Matthew-gz4oh Thanks for watching! We're loving the classic vibes of those VW bugs too!
I really like the concluding messages. 🙂
All 3 had the courage to leave the states and not become the usual invisible man to die alone. I commend them for their bravery.
These guys can't be invisible even to tye blind😂😂😂
@@humungushumungus213 are you really going to blame their weight on a woman they met last year? As for love, trust me, anyone with an IQ of above 80 knows what is going on there 😆 🤣
@@humungushumungus213 I don't think so. The gals will likely motivate them to get in shape.
Where do see bravery?? You buy a plane ticket and squeeze that massive booty into the plane seat. You land, then you are in PI... What is so brave about that?
Hi @maeanddave Appreciate your kind words! We're just trying to make a life here that's fulfilling.
2 questions it would be great to ask you and the other guys in another interview:
1. Health care and how they go about it, along with the quality, and recommendations.
2. Have they bothered learning the local language/dialect there and do they think it might be worthwhile to do.
