Me being 22 years old: struggles learning the chorus of the song with guitar. A random 16 years old metalhead in the woods: laughs in fretless bass. (¡Great cover btw!)
I was 13 when I got the first Death album in 1988. Have been a lifelong Chuck Schuldiner and Death/Control Denied fan. It is so fkn COOL to see a young man paying him homage. Thank you keep it up. RIP Chuck RIP Sean Reinert. Great bass work!!
Extremely difficult at first) It requires high precision and control. You slightly change the tilt of your finger and tuning floats away. It's noticeable in cover, I have been playing this toy for 3 weeks in total
It can be but if you have good hand technique on fretted bass it will take you far on a fretless. I’ve been playing fretless primarily since 2019 and I love it. But it is an adjustment for sure.
Ubóstwiam Death. Kocham bezapelacyjnie. Takiego ognia, zrozumienia, wyczucia w coverze nie widziałem, uwierz mi. Zasługujesz co najmniej na miano nieślubnego syna Steve'a DiGiorgio. Wyśmienite.
OMG, Hell Yes Brother !!!!! In the woods to boot, just like the original music video - got total chills here . Cue Beavis voice “ whoa what’s that kid from Jeremy doing in this video !!!??? “ Keep flying the banner of metal!!!
HOLY NON FRET METAL!!!! You just blew me away. Seriously, you inspired me big time with the video, angles, techniques, etc. I've fallen for fretless bass, and have sold most of my fretted basses to purchase fretless ones. Being a Metal freak, this just answered literally all of my questions. Thank you so much.
What a perfect cover. It has feeling, scenery, some serious punch and sounds great. If only more metal bands had fretless bass players. Can i ask, was it stock when you recorded this? Is it still? Thanks ❤
Firstly, amazing cover, really clean playing and love the energy. Secondly, you've made that Harley Benton sound huge, did you have to do much work to it? I had the same model but sold it to eventually upgrade because it was really low output and bassy sounding, yours growls really nicely
6 months late, flats will be better for smooth fretless tone. Rounds help bring out the mwah but can eat the fingerboard a bit depending on which ones you get. I recommend DR sunbeams because they are bright but smooth too.

Props to Steve DiGiorgio to come with bass parts like this.
People should stop naming Cliff so much. There are clearly other beasts on this world that are far better players than him.
@@MetalGodOfLegendMaybe, but not many of them were as innovative as Cliff.
@@LageTH-cam what? The distorted bass that sounds like almost a guitar? Lemmy made it atleast decades before Cliff
@@MetalGodOfLegend Lemmy didn't play wild bass solos or use wah wah.
@@LageTH-cam😂😂
That is some of the punchiest sounding tone I've ever heard.
Those slides are so heavy, I love it when he does that
This song literally has one of the coolest outro ever recorded on any song ever.
*standing ovation* sir, you are a monster!

I first heard Death in 88 I was 10, still a huge fan. One of my top death metal bands
I love how you chose a setting that looks like the video.
I also love how you put your own spin on it instead of playing it verbatim. 👏
is learning fretless hard
For some people yeah

I feel like we need a grizzly bear in this video or maybe a mythical creature like a big foot in the background would set this music video off.

sick tone bruh. What plugins were you using?
🤘🔥
Excellent. What strings/gauges are you using?
Hey they made me and all the other philosophy students into a song 😂
Nice tone dude! What strings do you play? I've just bought my first fretless and I cant decide between flatwound and roundwound ones
