Hi. I bought a brand new 2023 Tacoma last year and It has only 500 miles. If i switch to Amsoil signature low viscosity atf, will it void my factory warranty?
Several PPM (Parts Per Million) of contaminants could come from the test machine's calibration variations and/or contaminants from handling the sample. I wouldn't be too concerned. The higher viscosity is an interesting fact. This can affect transmission performance. It would be nice to know what friction coefficients are obtained with the different oil formulations. Do you have test results for fresh Amsoil ATF? BTW, transmission oil in my 2016 4Runner, looked clear brownish at only 20,000 miles when I installed an external oil cooler. I really expected the fluid to look red at only 20k. The vehicle wasn't used for towing or in any extreme conditions. I did a partial fluid replacement with Amsoi,l Fuel Saving ATF. Currently I got 45,000 on the vehicle and it's probably ready for another fluid change. It's not shifting as smooth as it used to. I'm conflicted about what brand ATF to use this time.
I don't have yet for amsoil atf, soon. Color is not always the indication of fluid being bad. Do you have thermostat on transmission? How many drain and fill did you do when switched to amsoil atf?
Changed 4 runner at 50 k with Amsoil. The WS fluid was dark purplish color. My advice to you is use Amsoil and don’t look back. It works great with great shifts you can flush at home(if you know how to do it) or do 3-4 drain and fill and you will get 90 percent of old fluid changed. But Amsoil is the way to go. It costs the same if not less than buying WS fluid
Repair vehicle,I have a 2019 Nissan frontier v6 with 3500 miles.i run amsoil signature series oil in it and was wandering if I should go ahead and change over to amsoil transmission fluid being it only has thirty five hundred miles on it or wait a while to change it.thanks and love the videos.
Do you think amsoil would last 60,000 miles under 80% highway driving conditions..looking to do several fill and drains on my 2015 Rav ...and was wondering better pay x2 the price than bother with transmission filling and draining every so often

Yes, still OK to change it. I change my atf on my tundra with 225k miles on it. You don't need to drive, run engine for 5 minutes or so. You can drive if you want to. I don't drive, I let engine run for 5 minutes.
So I have a 2010 IS 250, doing a drain and fill today. What ATF-WS transmission fluid should I get that is best? Car has 98,000 miles on it. Bought used so idk if it has ever been changed. Is the Lexus ATF-WS the same as the "fake" Toyota transmission fluid?! Also, if my transmission was low on transmission fluid to start with how do I know how much to put back in even if I measure what comes out? My 07 Tundra has the wrong fluid (Type 4 instead of WS) would there be any issues with switching back to WS? This is a error from mechanic. The truck shifts fine but there is a transmission lag. It’s had regular fluid exchange but the last one was with the wrong fluid
I’m praying that I won’t have issues. According to the service record and doing calculation, this fluid been in for about 38k miles. I might be toast at this point. The mechanic wanted to do another fluid exchange with the correct fluid, I just haven’t done it because it might be risky at this point.
@ 2nd owner but nothing shows it’s ever been done. Slight slip in one of the lower gears on cold mornings. Sometimes rough downshifts when needing To pass on the highway
Silicone, sodium and potassium can be from additives or contamination. If the counts increase after the fluid is used, it's considered contamination. With the extensive qc controls in place, highly unlikely exon is shipping "contaminated" fluid.
This is what I use and you can see it almost in every video when it comes to transmission. However, there is different type depending on vehicle www.amsoil.com/p/signature-series-fuel-efficient-synthetic-automatic-transmission-fluid-atl/?zo=5257753

About every 4 years or 40-50k miles which ever comes first. However, I do just drain and fill and I use synthetic fluid. And they said your fluid is " lifetime " . I know there is thoughts to change fluid ranging from 30000 - 60000 miles . I want to have it changed every 30000 miles and new filter . Others say just " drain and fill " and when to change the filter !? I will seek out a shop that sells / uses Amsoil products in their servicing of customers vehicles . To have a " transmission service " done as I want to .
Watch this video about transmission filter th-cam.com/video/Y2f7dFNP82k/w-d-xo.html Remember 99% of dealers don’t work or service cars past warranty. When you ask about filter replacement or fluid they have no clue what someone is talking about because dealers don’t work on cars past warranty time, independent shops or dyi.
@repairvehicle it's mineral, group 3 is called synthetic. They wouldn't use a group I solvent extracted wax and a group V. Prolly Group II+. A Group II has a good natural dispersancy because of its branched molecule characteristics.
@cmte.brazinazzo2061 true synthetic oils not made from group 3, because group 3 is not synthetic. Only synthetic blends made from group 3 and relabeled as full synthetic oils to take advantage of people
Toyota ws is complete garbage , I took a trip to Death Valley California then Nevada and my transmission was slipping on my 2017 Camry (110F Degree weather , black top was around 135 or more ) I was a little worried , first thing I did was research and of course it’s conventional crap , I switched to amsoil full syn shifts buttery smooth

What transmission fluid would you recommend for a 1989 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo 1G-GTE with 79,000 miles imported from Japan? It takes DEXRON®-II btw.

Thanks! Got pretty lucky for a first car xD
Hi. I bought a brand new 2023 Tacoma last year and It has only 500 miles. If i switch to Amsoil signature low viscosity atf, will it void my factory warranty?
Absolutely not. Why do you think it will void warranty?
What about the 4 liter cans that say "Toyota WS AT Fluid" on them and made in Japan? Can it be used in a 2008 Toyota Avalon?
Do you think the Japanese made is better quality than US/Canada made?
I don’t think it’s better, specially in metal can where it can rust on the inside or oxidize

Silicone, sodium and potassium can be from additives or contamination. If the counts increase after the fluid is used, it's considered contamination. With the extensive qc controls in place, highly unlikely exon is shipping "contaminated" fluid.
