I doubt I will trade my 2018 for a while. I don't want to give up "creep mode," summon, USS distance readout, copper-tinted IR blocking roof and back glass, etc. I am OK with no stalks, but my 2018 is still wonderful to drive with no need of any upgrades.

Hey Joy. Yes the quietness of the newer teslas are like night and day. Just upgraded to a 2023 Model X and it’s wicked quite compared to my 2018 RWD LR M3

The lack of stalks is something that made me decide that if I wanted a Model Y, I needed to buy a '24 model that still has steering wheel stalks.
You'll get used to it pretty quickly. I'm speaking from experience. :)

Remember you put it in standard mode!😳,so that is why it is slower 0 ti 60 time, try again, in sports mode!!!, you would feel it!🤗😀🥰👍

If the doors glass are the same . Tesla should allows to upgrades the door glass for older models
Correct. Newer Model 3 has double paned windows. It’s not possible to retrofit.
We took up Tesla emailed offer to testdrive at local service/delivery center, indeed very different than my 2018 LR 3... MUCH better suspension, smoothed out & silenced most all the road bumps & noise, even speed bumps , little things on road.. MUCH nicer & quieter. (Model Y there, was WORSE, ouch.. really hoping for similar Juniper update to modelY !)) I haven't driven in newer pre-Highland 3, so don't know if less difference, but it felt a LOT nicer. That was tempting..
The stalk-less steering wheel definitely took some getting used to, phantom turn swipes :) The auto-gear selection was fine, worked easily and nicely.
But: I did NOT like the seats as much, they were MUCH firmer than my soft model3 seats? Not sure how comfy would be in long roadtrips? Not sure can feel it in 20-30min test drive.. maybe if could get 24hr take-home...
Also.. the steering wheel stitching, is no longer on the inside back of wheel where your fingers/thumb meet, eg invisible to touch.. they are on the BACK of the wheel, right where your fingers go, and you *definitely* feel the stitching. It was annoying. Perhaps uncomfortable on long drives? wonder if finger oils, might degrade the stitching after years?
That’s an interesting thing about steering wheel stitching. 🤔

What I find in Teslas nowadays especially the newer ones is it now they've got full self-driving! I can't wait to find out when full self-driving 13 comes into Play because with that feature I could be able to use it in full self-driving and not have to worry about it. And since they are coming out with the Tesla model 2 in 2025? People like me will be able to use that because as for me I don't drive!
I’ve been using auto pilot / enhanced autopilot since 2018 and full self driving since 2021. It’s not new.
So do the old ones. I have a 2020 and bought FSD for $6K and I have all the latest FSD. Its' not just the new Teslas. Everyone who purchases FSD gets the updates.
Please don’t call the venerable 2018 OG M3 a dinosaur! I love my car and it can outrun 90 percent of ICE cars in performance! It’s a little noisier, but I love it. Thanks for the review!

Tesla need to transition drive by wire and 48 volt to the S3XY lines in order to compete. Honestly feel Tesla quality and service is not to bar as Lexus .
Every time I have my Tesla in service at Tesla service center . There are always dirty foot print on the carpet where service is done .
