- First part of my walk along the Herriot Way. In this section I walk from Keld, over Gunnerside Gill and to Healaugh.

Hi Carrie, superb video of your first part of the Herriot way, see the tractor near Keld is still there, loved all the old industrial building which now sit quiet, wonderful waterfalls on this section, ye also love total quiet apart from the sky larks, looking forward to part 2 cheers nigel

Fabulous video and great hiking area Carrie. Was up Old Gang Smelting Mill area twice a couple of months ago, plenty of scenery on the tops there.
Yeah it's a fascinating area. Amazing to think what life was like there in the 19th century when the mills were active :D

Hi David, Gunnerside is a fascinating area. I didn't talk much about the history of the area- I'm sure there are other youtubers who can do a much better job than me. It is a lovely walk though- the ruined smelt mills are very interesting.
@@carriehikes We were at Yarnbury in Wharfedale this week which has a similar landscape due to mining.
